1 starI was discriminated against at the **** * ******.
The manager OZ gas been leading me on a wild goose chase about a replacement vehicle for a vehicle that was stolen from the front of my home. This guy has always had an issue with me for the several years I've been renting there.
It's a closer location for me which is the main reason I patronize the location. This time he appears to have more than 1 problem. The rate I was given for a premium car and replacing that car. I need to speak with upper management asap!Review fromMichael L

1 starI rented a Toyota Highlander on 5/6/23. When I went to get into the car I walked around and noticed severe damage to the right rear quarter panel. It didn’t look like it would affect the driving so I took photos and proceeded to the exit. When I got to the exit I informed the attendant of the damage and she took my rental slip and marked off the damaged area and I left the lot. When I returned the vehicle on 5/9/23 I informed the lot agent of the damage as well as the fact that the rear tires were literally BALD. (I didn’t notice that upon check out or I would not have taken the vehicle). I also showed him the slip regarding the damage upon check out. He wrote on the back windows that the back tires needed replacement and that there was damage to the rear. A week later I received a bill from AVIS for over $300 in repair costs!!! I immediately called and spoke to an agent who had me mail in the photos of the damage and the rental slip and gave me a case #******** and he assured me that I would not be charged. A month later I was charged $78.15 on my credit card for damage!!! I called my cc company and disputed the charge and sent them the photos as well. Today I received notice that the cc company will not honor my dispute. BUYER BEWARE. DO NOT RENT FROM AVIS!! They will give you unsafe and damaged vehicles and then charge YOU for the damage. I have rented from them many times in the past, but they have lost me as a customer forever and everyone I know will hear how horrible they are.Review fromJeff W

1 starThis location is a joke and fraud!!!
On July 17th i reserved a car for a road trip and talked to the manager on the phone about debit card use and they use equifax to soft credit check. I told her my score and she told me that i was good to go for a car not and suv. So i get to the store on the 17th they pull up my reservation run check and then deny me the car.
I asked the employee why and she said credit score was too low. Now that is not what i was told!!! Then i asked what the minimum score was and she said she could tell me that info. Really. I called corporate and they had no clue either. Either they are all ignorant or just a bunch of liars.Review fromDeanna C

1 starI booked a reservation at the AVIS location at **** ***** Rd NE Atlanta GA *****. An hour prior to going to AVIS to pickup my vehicle, I called AVIS customer service to confirm my reservation and specifically confirm that AVIS had a vehicle for my reservation. The customer service agent confirmed my reservation and told me that she "saw nothing indicating that there wouldn't be a vehicle for me".
I proceeded to pay for an Uber to AVIS. After waiting in line for 40 minutes, the AVIS counter agent told me that they didn't have a vehicle for me and wouldn't be able to fulfill my reservation. I shared with the AVIS counter agent that I had confirmed my reservation with AVIS customer service on the phone. The AVIS counter agent replied saying "Well you didn't call me because if you did I would have told you we didn't have any cars".
AVIS is unreliable and I would not recommend anyone use them.
Why is AVIS allowing people to book reservations when they don't have any cars at the location that the reservation is being made at? Why did the AVIS customer service agent not have an accurate view of the vehicle inventory when I called to confirm my reservation?
I wasted my time booking a reservation, paying for transportation to AVIS, and waiting in line only to be told that they don't have any vehicles. No alternatives were offered to resolve this issue. This is unacceptable.Review fromSuhail H

1 starI had a disappointing and an unpleasant experience with Avis Car Rental recently. I picked up my rental from the Las Vegas Airport location on 4-July-2023. However the car that was assigned to me did not have engine oil and had the oil change warning light on. I had to return to the rental counter to report this and was assigned another vehicle but the same issue occurred agin for 2 more vehicles consecutively. After the third attempt, I asked the agent at the counter to check for himself and ensure that the vehicle was in good condition but he was rude and declined and said that it was not his job to check and that I would have to get the fourth vehicle and check for myself if it had sufficient engine oil. The agent lacked customer service and made my experience horrible. I asked to speak with a manager and he said that he was the supervisor there and that there was nothing else I could do other than getting another vehicle without any guarantee that it would be in desirable condition. On the fourth try and after wasting almost an hour at the location I finally got a vehicle that was in satisfactory condition but at the expense of a disappointing experience and waste of time. I believe Avis Rental car does not keep or inspect their vehicles properly, do not have good customer service and lack management at their pickup location.Review fromTony F

1 starAvis is a joke. I prepaid for a rental online through Avis while my car was in the shop. I get to the location, they take the deposit (mind you the car is already paid for) from my credit card, then tell me they don’t have the car class I already paid for. So I agreed to take a smaller car and I was going to go out to the airport to change it out. When I told the so called manager what my plan was, he decided to tell me he had NO CARS AVAILABLE AT ALL. Now, I’m at this location that I took an Uber to (paid $29.00) for them to not give me anything. I than asked to speak to the district manager, the gentleman proceeds to tell me that he’s the owner of the location. This gentleman did not want to tell me his name and no he did not have a name tag. He had on a t-shirt and some jeans shorts like he did not even work there. Another gentleman came from the back and they began speaking their language like I wasn’t going to understand. The one guy called me *****! By this time, I’m ******. I then begin to record our conversation because I know they are going to get even more disrespectful because now it’s two of them. I began to ask for an refund, while calling Avis 800 number from my secondary phone, the gentleman called me a bum. He then tell me that he will refuse to refund me my money. At this moment, I hang up with Avis 800 number and proceed to call the police. They police came and I explained to them what was going on and they told me that they could not refuse to refund me if it’s them that don’t have cars available. I was giving a report number from the officer and I went about my way. I’m extremely disappointed in Avis. They think they can treat people any kind of way. They can take your money, but then we have to wait 7-10 business to be made whole. What if I didn’t have extra money to go somewhere else and pick up a vehicle? I would be **** out of luck. I do not recommend Avis to any one. They would get a -5 stars from me if I could. I will never go back to themReview fromsarah h

1 starAbsolutely ridiculous! I booked through priceline for the rate of $62.40 for July 1st at 11;30pm. My flight was 2 hours late, therefore putting me as picking up the car on July 2nd and with that they changed the fee for the rental to $174.13. I STILL had to have the car back to the rental agency at 11:30 am, so I had the car for a total of ten hours and they charged me $111.00 extra because I picked up late???? I called Avis and was offered a whopping 25% of the $111.00 I was overcharged, are you kidding me?? I asked three times for a supervisor and Shaddy kept telling me if I waited for a supervisor it would take 24 hours, okay, so I will wait 24 hours than to take the $22.20 you are offering me. Priceline referred me to Avis saying they couldn't help because the contract was changed. I never changed the contract and I still had to have the car back ten hours later! Come on Priceline and Avis. Step up and fix the problem you can CLEARLY see on the receipt.Review fromdanny R

1 starA+ COMPANY? H..ell NO!
CROOKS......... CROOKS........ CROOKS
Just got ripped off by AVIS. Made a reservation, paid for it....originally thought I would need it for 5 days but came back 1 day early. Took it in before the 24hr period only to be told I did a "pre-pay" and therefor can't get a refund...... Normally prepay means something good, in AVIS' view it means they don't give refunds if you bring it in early.... I JUST GOT CHARGED $84 (about) FOR A CAR I AM NOT DRIVING!!!!!
Avis is a rip off, Customer service (Luis G ) tells me, "there is no one else to go to" he's the end of the line.
THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS, should have stayed with Enterprise!
Now, if I'm refunded, I will update this comment and forgive them, if not, STAY AWAY!!!Review fromSerenna L

1 starDiscriminated by employee behind counter on 7/5/23
“Loren the Marketing Director” as he identify himself refused to rent to me because he was being a complete jerk( yes an a@$) because I showed up an hour early for pickup. Then when I returned and hour later refused to rent car to me that would be more appropriate for my needs and told me because I used ( a single word “a@$” to describe him) he would not rent to me and would keep ALL AVIS and affiliates from renting to me. I have filed a complaint with the company as well and awaiting an answer and refund of a prepaid rental that he refused, therefore he cancelled it, NOT meReview fromBernice S

1 starBeware! As if it weren't enough that the car I rented (and paid for a month in advance) smelled like human sweat, I'd barely had it two hours before the maintenance light came on. Upon calling it in and being on the phone for an hour of my vacation time, the Avis rep said my choices were either to risk driving it in the downpouring rain to the nearest Avis car rental facility or hop in the tow truck that would eventually be sent for the car and get a ride to Avis. Not an option was Avis being inconvenienced to bring me a working car in the rain. And things get worse. I was told my full refund would be processed in 3-5 business days. Nearly a week later, I received a PARTIAL refund of less than half the $649 due me. When I called to inquire why, the Avis rep could not tell me. Instead, the response was the balance was being processed and I'd get it, this time, in 5-7 days! Upon threatening to report the matter to the corporate office, the refund was processed in less than two days. I won't use Avis ever again. If you do, be mindful to get any full refund due.
