      Worst rental car company. I was billed for gas that I shouldn't have been. I was double billed for the rental. Two charges for the same amount are charged to my card. The car wasn't the one we reserved. The car had NOT been cleaned it was filthy and it also only had half a tank of gas and no windshield wiper fluid. Horrible customer service. Avis should be ashamed of themselves for such low quality and scamming customers out of their money. That's fraud.

Any difficulties or problems encountered by a customer are a concern to us, and we apologize most sincerely for any inconvenience you may have been caused. Please be assured that your experience was not typical of Avis's usual high standards, and that the responsible manager has been contacted to prevent any recurrence.



      When processing a prepayment, our billing system will authorize the prepay amount on the designated card as a pending transaction. When the charge is successful, the pending transaction is typically removed by the card provider, however some financial institutes may reflect a completed payment and a pending transaction simultaneously. At this time, we were only able to confirm one reservation prepayment of $217.90 was received on January 10th.

      I rented from Avis I was driving for Uber I would pay for my rental every week. I had the car for about 3 months I had paid every week on time. I retired the car after business hours and dropped the keys off in their box. I found out they hit me with a 1007.43 charge to my bank which I had returned the car 3 days early I tried to talk to them and they hang up on me I have my bank statement but they are not professional business they are out to get peoppes money

      The Uber program could not renew your use and your rental was considered late when it was not returned by October 30th; you were billed at a daily rate until the vehicle's return on November 3rd. When the vehicle was returned, evidence of smoking in the vehicle was discovered and you were billed a $300.00 cleaning fee per our non-smoking policy. However, our Customer Service team issued a courtesy refund of this fee on December 16th and this is reflected on the most current copy of the rental receipt on Avis.com under the Reservations menu by entering your last name and rental agreement number.



      Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do appreciate your contacting us.

      I was in a no fault accident in an Avis Rental Vehicle on 9/10/23. My reservation was from 9/10-9/13 (so it happened within 2 hours of me renting the vehicle). Someone ran a red light and almost killed me, but my priority was notifying Avis and making sure they are aware of where the vehicle was towed to and to start handling the case. It is now 4 months later, and Avis charged my card about $13,000 for the amount of days it wasn't returned to their lot. I called probably 20 times in the few days after the accident reminding them the car was in the impound lot and that they needed to go pick it up. I called now multiple times trying to get this resolved and get my money refunded, and upper management is denying the claim stating I'm responsible for this charge. HOW AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE DAYS YOU DID NOT PICK UP THE CAR FOR AN ACCIDENT THAT ALMOST TOOK MY LIFE? This has got to be a joke. I don't understand how a business can be run this way.

      As clarified in our terms of use, renters that decline Loss Damage Waiver coverage are responsible and will pay us for all loss of or damage to the Vehicle regardless of cause or who or what caused it. Charges include responsibility for Loss of Use of the vehicle. As part of our loss, you will also pay for loss of use of the Vehicle, without regard to our fleet utilization, plus an administrative fee and appraisal, plus towing and storage charges, and diminished value, if any. 

      To determine whether you are covered for the charges associated with the accident, we do advise contacting your insurance agent or provider for reimbursement options.



      We apologize that there was not a more favorable outcome.

      Avis charged me $440 more than estimated on the reservation due to mileage. Avis did not mention the mileage charge at pickup time and did everything they could to subtly hide the charge in their reservation screen and in the reservation confirmation email. Avis deceptively used mileage of 0 in their "Estimated total cost" on the reservation, even though the reservation was for a pickup in Florida and drop-off in New York, a distance of 1200 miles. It's a deceptive business practice for Avis to put the mileage charge at the end of a long list of fees as "Mileage $0.34 mile" and then estimate for your price comparison that in driving from Florida to New York, you will drive a grand total of 0 miles.
      Typically my experience with Avis has involved unlimited mileage rentals, so the extra $440 cost due to mileage was a huge shock, and I feel like I have been conned. I would advise everyone to avoid renting from Avis.

      Rate structures are similar to airline pricing; our prices change depending on car availability, location popularity, and many other factors. This is why prices can fluctuate on a minute-to-minute basis. Unless it’s an advertised special offer, there generally isn’t one set rate for a particular type of car, but rather a range of prices depending on the length and dates of your reservation. Even with special offers, the advertised rate usually applies to a limited supply of cars which varies daily by make and model at each location.



      Some one-way rentals will have unlimited mileage, while others may offer a set amount of free miles and a per-mile charge if exceeded. When making a reservation online, mileage inclusions are typically available with the rate details on our website and app under the Rental Options summary.


      If you feel the mileage was billed in error or need to make travel reimbursement arrangements, we do advise contacting the travel coordinator associated with the company discount you used for your rental use. However, based on the information from your reservation and your actual use, we do confirm that you were billed correctly for your use.

      Booked a Sedan from Round Rock Austin to drop off in preston road. We were supposed to get the vehicle at 2 pm and when we went to collect the same, they mentioned not having any cars. At 5 pm they called us and said they have a electric Mach available and we took it as we had to reach frisco. The drop off mentioned as 5:40 next day and when we went there it was closed. This wasn’t mentioned we called the customer care so we could drop it off at a different location as we could not afford another day’s charge. After speaking to the customer care we were able to drop off the vehicle by 8 pm and we were promised to be not charged any late fee as the store was closed. The next day I see a charge of $320 from avis, when we called the customer care they said they charged for the next day as well as we dropped it off late. No response or resolution yet on this.

      Hi my name is Samuel ******** I was in a car accident in August which I had went to Avis using my business account to rent a car which is True Mechanic llc I rent with Avis before I had 2023 chevy Malibu I made payment on rental until my insurance took over on Christmas Day I came out to go to car to find vehicle was gone I check camera to see what happened which show the tow truck came and took vehicle with all my personal belongings and my business equipment I call Avis to find out what happened.Which I was to told that payment what not made which i explain some one should have call me or text me like previous when they requested a payment the individual I spoke to was name Jonathan he apologize for the inconvenience and said he agreed and see no note of attempted contact me I explain all the belongings I had in vehicle which I was told to call a number and file a lost and found claim which I did I have heard anything still about my personal belongings of my business equipment that I am in dying need for my company which is causing hardship on my business which later I check my account and was charged $4,900 for vehicle which I am going to get a attorney. I still don’t have any of my belongings or my business equipment which values all together over $36,000 which includes scanners laptops tools I had trunk back pack which I had important paperwork three set of key for vehicle I have at my shop my coat necklace and bracelet that was in console. I feel I have been robbed by Avis of my personal and business possessions. My statement to Avis is one I don’t have no problem paying my bill I have good credit my score is 750 that cause I pay my bills secondly the same way Avis could have call me or text me if there was a issue just like did in the beginning didn’t have to come to my house in the middle of the night on Christmas Day like the Grinch and take the car with my belongings in there same way Avis charge my account with no problem now where my belongings

      We have checked our records and show that your rental was due to be returned on September 30th, 2023. As the vehicle was not returned and we were not notified that you needed the vehicle longer we did start our overdue process on October 9th, 2023, we do show that the rental was than extended on October 12th, 2023 until October 29th, 2023. However, it was not returned on October 29th, 2023, nor were we able to locate additional request to extend the rental past this date. As the vehicle was not returned we did end up having to repo the vehicle. Our review shows that the vehicle was taken to Atlanta Airport, please note any belongings in the vehicle would have been turned into our lost/found at this location and will be kept for 30 days. If the items are not claimed after 30 days they will be disposed of, you can file a lost/found report using the link below or visit the location if you live locally.
