      I returned my rental car in perfect working order and 2 weeks later got 2 charges totaling just under $1100 and wasnt given a reason for it. This was from the ********* office. Total scam!

      ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE to deal with. They will charge you for extra insurance even though you decline it, and when you want to get something resolved, they will just push you to a manager that is non existent. (*************************** does not exist) and the other workers WILL NOT assist you in any matter. If I could give them a .1 star I would. BE AWARE!

      Prior to arriving at the Avis counter, my sister made a reservation for a compact vehicle at a base rate of $216 plus car seat, taxes, and fees. Instead of honoring the reservation price, the agent charges us a base rate of $270. At this point, we were tired from our flight and my niece was restless, so we continued with the rental agreement and proceeded to pick up the vehicle. We requested a compact car but were given a Jeep instead. The Jeep was DIRTY, not cleaned from the previous rental with sticky residue on the seat, and there were long bird droppings on the right side of the vehicle. When I picked up the vehicle, I recorded video footage and took pictures of its condition. On top of all this, we then had to **** down another agent to find a car seat since it wasn't explained to us that it wouldn't be in the vehicle. Having no time to return to the counter, I contacted Avis customer service and the representative I spoke with said she would apply a 20% discount to the reservation.When we returned the vehicle today, my sister attempted to show the agent, ******, her phone reservation with the base rate we had been quoted, and the agent refused to view it. Upon explaining the stench in the car, the Avis representative had the audacity to act as if she was lying. Adding insult to injury, the Avis agent at the counter REFUSED to honor the 20% discount Avis emailed us and applied to our rental. What type of business practice is this to ***** a discount and then refuse to honor it?

      I reseved a car from avis the website said the cost per day was 145.. per day then I get an estimate emailed that said 224 per day. had the car for 14 hours returned it and the bill was 374. something is very wrong and has to be illegal.       I had a res set up for a 9am p/u on Feb 28th, budget called me at 730am to tell me they didnt have a *********** need to contact 800#. They call back to say they found a truck, but its 45 min away and the manager will go pick it up. Ok Im moving from ** to MI and have to have the truck I dont get the truck until 2pm Feb 28th. So we started the drive I got on the freeway and when I got up to 55 mph the truck is shaking violently the steering wheel was all over the place and it just very loud. I pull over 30 minutes into the drive and tell my lady we cant drive this. I called roadside and they take a hour find a shop for me to go to. At the shop they tell me its a dry rotted tire and its separated. So I call back to roadside and they send me to the closest tire shop and they show me that 2 more tires are bald and dry rotted and another one with a nail in it. So its a total of 4 tires that need to be replaced, but budget only agreed to replace 3, the 1 w the nail isnt replaced. So again budget doesnt care about my safety or my family because they feel its ok to drive over 1k mi with a nail in a tire. Waited 4 hrs to get tires replaced.My problem is why would the mgr knowingly give me a bad truck? because he drove it prior and at that distance of 45 min. He didnt care about my safety driving over ***** miles in a moving truck. He needs to be fired. The tires were bald and the front driver one had a bulge and was old and dry rotted very unsafe. The wiper blades were no good, rained in Georgia I had to pullover and find a auto zone to buy wipers because the ones on the truck were useless couldnt see anything in the rain it just smeared. $400 In compensation they offered but I feel cheated I want a total refund on the rental because this is unacceptable and dangerous that someone could be this careless with giving a truck out. I would have had a blowout and Lord knows what couldve possibly happened ref# I have pics of the tires and receipts

      I made a reservation for a full size vehicle to pick up at 8:30am on 3/4/24 from Avis in *********, **.Upon my arrival at 8:40am, ******* tells me they have no cars to give me and that all of the vehicles I see in the lot are out of commission. I ask, when will the car be available and she says she doesn't know! There was no empathy and no urgency to resolve the issue. She then proceeds to tell me I can drive to the Avis in ***** (40 minutes away) and get a car from there!!!!I was so frustrated. 1) How does Avis's rental inventory system allow rentals if the location has no cars?2) Why didn't someone from Avis CALL ME by 7:30a to alert me of the situation? I am a preferred Avis member. This is the least they could have done!!3) How is sending me to another location 40 minutes away a reasonable solution?This situation caused me to be significantly late for work and I am very unhappy.

      We forecast vehicle availability based on how vehicles are scheduled to return. Several circumstances could cause inventory issues such as vehicles being extended, not returned on time or as agreed, returned to a different location, or breakdowns. We do our best to accommodate every rental but sometimes if vehicles aren't returned when they are scheduled, it causes us to be short on vehicles at a particular location. 

      I completely understand how frustrating and inconvenient this situation has been for you. Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do appreciate your contacting us.

      I spend $25 to uber there after I booked a car through priceline. They refused to give me a car due to bad credit rating. They lied and said that no one would rent to me. I walked around the corner and had a great experience with enterprise car rental. ** never use avis again. They have made me an enterprise customer for life. I wanted to leave a 0 star but wasn't allowed

      If a customer uses a debit card to authorize the rental, we will perform a credit check at the time of rental to determine credit worthiness; the credit check is a soft inquiry and will not affect the customer's credit score.
      If we are unable to complete the credit check or if the credit check fails, customers should be prepared to present a major credit card in their own name. Regretfully, we cannot bypass or override the credit check and if a major credit card cannot be provided in place of the debit card, we will not be able to proceed with a rental. 

      Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do appreciate your contacting us.

      Billed my card $50 for a reservation I canceled two prior to the original pick up date and that was supposed to be a free cancellation anytime reservation trying to claim it was a no show fee! We had ******************** from Avis dated two weeks prior it was canceled! & tge supervisor tried to act like he was doing me a favor when it was really them illegally billing my card after the transaction was cancelled weeks ago! Their customer service is aweful and lies to customers! Even if it was cancelled same day the booking was no fees 100% refundable so how are they claiming no fee free cancel & then billing $50 fee for it?! Bait & switch illegal billing! Horrible company with tons of similar complaints about shady unauthorized billing!

      I rented at the *******************. I paid for a standard rental through Priceline. After waiting over 30 minutes in line the guy asked me if a Chrysler 300 was ok. I did not know this was an upgrade and the charges were not verbally communicated to me. Yes, I signed the agreement and saw the $51+ charge but thought I did not pay in advance when I made the reservation the day before.I was scammed in a very bad way. I was in ******** for a funeral, needed a car for 24 hours and ended up paying nearly double what I should have.I called directly to the 816 area code and was told over and over I agreed to the charges. I absolutely did it blindly. I didn't hold up the line of customers and insist on a copy of the agreement I could read in its entirety. I am guilty of signing without reading first but that agent needs to be fired. He scammed me. He must get paid commission for selling extra features. I want my money back for the upgrade. The agents are unwilling to do that.

      As you are aware the signed rental agreement shows the upgrade cost was noted on the contract, the additional cost is included in the estimated total, and we show the renters signature appears in acceptance of these terms. 

      We are disappointed that you feel you were manipulated into signing for these items. Although we do not doubt your veracity, our decisions are based on the facts at hand. The rental agreement was signed, and the larger vehicle was provided by Avis. As a gesture of good will, we have split the upgrade charge on your rental this is a total refund of $26.59.

      The absolute worst experience. They originally gave me a car that was very ************, but it had a low tire pressure warning. So I called them and I had to go all the way back the next day for another car. The other car was a dirty, old, seat stained car that smelled. I complained that I am not paying full price for that car. The guy behind the counter didnt care and said call avis. I call avis to find another car at some other location. They claimed there were cars available at another location but CS would not reserve the car for me. They actually told me that it was a c*** shoot whether or not a car will be there for me. Then as i attempt to drive to the next location I find that there is a bubble in the tire of the "new" car they gave me. Called them saying car was unsafe but they said they couldnt get me another car unless I drive to ************* and I was in Miami/ keys.Worst company ever!!!! What good is a rental car company that has no cars to rent!!!
