      Zero stars. This is the biggest scam of a company I could possibly imagine. I made a PRE-PAID reservation months in advance for a rental car with Avis on a vacation I went on, and once I got there they told me they did not have a car for me and had no idea when they would have one. I spent hours at the airport on the phone with customer service and no one would help me. Given the nature of the vacation, not having a rental car was not an option so I had to find another last minute reservation with a different company and had to pay hundred of dollars more because it was last minute and demand was high, as opposed to my reservation that I had specifically placed months in advance to get a better rate. Had I known a prepaid reservation meant absolutely nothing with Avis, I wouldnt have bothered with them at all and gone with a different, more reliable company. After additional hours on the phone with this sad excuse of a company, they promised to refund me the overage I had to pay because of their errors. That was back in January. It is now April and after probably about 6 additional phone calls, *** been told there is no refund and they will not be doing anything to make me whole. Seriously, please save yourself so much time, money, and migraines and just go with a different company. Even if theyre more expensive, it will still probably end up being cheaper than what I had to go with. I cant believe they are still in business with the way they run.

      We forecast vehicle availability based on how vehicles are scheduled to return. Several circumstances could cause inventory issues such as vehicles being extended, not returned on time or as agreed, returned to a different location, or breakdowns. We do our best to accommodate every rental but sometimes if vehicles aren't returned when they are scheduled, it causes us to be short on vehicles. I completely understand how frustrating and inconvenient this situation has been for you.

      While we did offer to cover any additional rate charges with a competitor, the receipt you provided from the competitor was for a rate of $250.00; this value was less than the van rate of $646.50 that was reserved with Avis. Unfortunately, we do not offer compensations for ancillary, coverage services, or taxes and fees and we cannot issue you a credit for these additional products that were accepted for the rental with the other provider.

      We apologize that there was not a more favorable outcome.

      While dropping a friend off at the Avis located on *********** and ************ in *******, **. I stopped next to the building to make sure my friend was good on her rental before leaving. The employee cleaning cars there on 4-23-24 came over to me and knocked on my window to point out a paper handmade sign hanging in the window that stated no parking. I explained to her I would be leaving in just a minute. She then walked away and came back over to my car with her cell phone and took a picture of my license plate as well as called ********************** that area. She then came back to my window and screamed for me to move my f***ing car. I asked her who she was speaking to like that and she again screamed "I'm talking to you f***ing b**** There were no other moving cars in the parking lot or any other customers in the office except my friend. I moved my car up a little to see my friend and get the ok she was good to go and every time I moved up this employee would move up as well to block my view. I was finally able to get sight of my friend and got the ok to leave which I did. I have never encountered a more rude, unprofessional and aggressive person especially in customer service. I have used this location on several other times without any incident but will not ever go back at this point.

      No accountability. Gave me a Lexus with bald tires. Putting the safety and life of my family in jeopardy. I drove over a THOUSAND miles from ************ to ******* and back.Agent noticed tires were bald. Expressed concern that I drove so many miles on bad tires.When I advised Avis, company deducted $44. Really?! My Family could have been INJURED or DIED. Horrible customer service. DON'T JEOPARDIZE YOUR FAMILY'S HEALTH OR LIFE. RENT from somewhere else You've been warned. I certainly have.

      Reference Avis Rental Agreement Number - *****************I was a first timer with Avis and registered myself as preferred member. My experience with Avis Rent A car started on a very satisfying note. I was very happy with the kind of service received at Avis location i.e., ***************************************************************************. The lady at the counter not only gave excellent discounted rate but also upgraded my car from sedan to high end premium ***. It was December 25 night and she gave me a perfect gift for our road trip.We rented for almost a week. We had 4 kids in the **** and was obvious to have some dirt coming back from our trail walks. Before returning, we made sure to clean as much we can. At the Avis return center (***********************), I showed the Avis person the inside condition of the *** and asked if this is okay or should I clean more? She confirmed that this is usual and is all okay to leave as is. Later, we received mail from Avis informing that the *** was having a lot of dirt/dust inside. For the reason, Avis charged $125.00 as cleaning fee. It was shocking and not at all acceptable. Avis showed different standards and communication to us. We had good enough time on the day of return and could have cleaned more if the Avis person had pointed out the right way. I am disappointed with this experience. I should have not been charged extra for the cleaning services. I will not be very confident to rent a car from Avis in future.

      If a car is returned to us with trash, dirt, spills and other soilage residue that a customer leaves behind, a location will bill up to $450.00 to clean the car so that it can be rented again. Based on the photos provided by the rental location, we do recognize that the vehicle was returned in an unclean condition and you were billed for additional cleaning. We understand you may not agree with this policy, but this is the expense associated with restoring the car after your use.

      The first car I received smelled so bad like urine even the parking lot attendant wouldnt get in the car. After I finally got a vehicle, two hours later. I agreed to the refilling option which stated $3.18 per gallon. Only the fuel needed to fill the car up to a maximum of $66. I was charged $104 for a half a tank of fuel at $3.64. When I called and questioned it, I was told I left the vehicle on empty. In addition, I was charged five times the going rate for a toll that shouldve only been $3 dollars. I had no choice because the toll booth was under construction and went cashless. Horrible experience I will never use them again. If you call to question and complain, they dont do anything about it and just say well thats what you agreed to.

      We regret if the procedures for refueling the car were not clearly explained when you collected your vehicle. Avis offers a prepaid fuel option at the beginning of our rentals that benefits our customers who plan to drive a significant number of miles during the rental and do not want to refuel before returning the vehicle. When prepaying for the first tank of fuel, the per-gallon price is lower than our usual fuel service charge, and it is comparable to, if not lower than, most gasoline stations in the area.
       
      Typically, unused gas left in the tank is non-refundable, most customers do not mind because they enjoy the convenience of returning the car without having to stop and fill the tank. We base the price of the prepaid fuel option on the size of the vehicle's gas tank. However, as the recorded use upon return was only 1/8th of a tank, we have adjusted for the unused prepaid fuel. A copy of the updated receipt has been emailed to you. 

      Regarding toll use, Please understand Budget does not bill you for the toll charges directly. As stated in the terms and conditions of your rental paperwork in the section for Rental Charges, by signing the rental agreement, you do allow Budget to submit your own billing information for toll charges. The ********************** will charge for each unpaid toll as well as a daily convenience fee. To avoid this charge, we do recommend including a toll service fee with any future rental use for cashless toll road use.

      Overcharged my mileage after return. It was a 5 day rental and they charged ****** miles at .27 per mile...for 5 days. I don't recall driving 211 mph nonstop for 5 days straight. Called customer service and they tried to argue that I must have driven that much. They said it would get fixed in 5-7 days (hopefully), but I guess a major mistake like that gives them an $8k loan for 2 weeks free of interest...convenient for them. There should be fines for gross billing errors like this.Anyway the car smelled like smoke, and a previous vehicle through them also smelled like weed. I was embarrassed that I needed to use it to transport a coworker's spouse to grocery store and needed to explain that it smelled like that when I got it. I don't want to be in that situation again.

      Our records do confirm that a mileage entry error at the time of check-out on April 9th resulted in excess mileage charges when the vehicle was scanned in for return on April 14th. Our **************** team has submitted the discrepancy for correction and this process can take 7 business days or sooner. We are sorry that the error was not noted sooner by the *******************-********************* (SNA) location and the responsible manager has been contacted to review and take action to prevent any recurrence.

      Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do appreciate your contacting us. Only by being made aware of a problem can we correct it and offer the high quality of service that our customers expect and deserve.

      We had scheduled our car reservation on April 2nd for a trip we had on April 18th. We received a call on April 17th at 7pm that our rental was cancelled because they had no vehicles available. 12 hours before our reservations. Their customer service was absolutely horrible. I dont understand how they are still in business, everything about this company is absolute nonsense. Horrible, terrible company. Do NOT use Avis.

      Will never rent from Avis again, they take forever, made me get their insurance said they would not rent to me without it, charged me over $1600 for 12 days for a ***** that kept flashing no windshield fluid the whole time, when I reviewed them, they said just send your confirmation number and well see what we can do, yeah right, first it was we cant find that confirmation # then they belittled me and they did nothing to make their wrong right.

      If i could rate this company ZERO stars, I would. Ill start out by stating I understand currency change. I booked a rental online with this company at the ****************** Peurta Plata Airport, I received my confirmation of 210USD being $285CAD once converted - these numbers are both stated CLEARLY. When arriving at the airport, they tried to charge me the higher number (285) which would then be converted AGAIN resulting in $390CAD on my credit card. After disputing these numbers, the rental counter stated I had 2 choices: 1. Pay it, too bad or 2. No car, youre stranded in a foreign country, goodluck!I would also like to mention that this is the SECOND occasion they have done the same thing - I will never rent a car from this group again.A bunch of f****ing theives!!!!!!

      I tried to rent with Avis in, ** their ************ and ****************, ** location. They are partnership with Uber to rent cars. They let you book a reservation generated a reservation number, then either they immediately call say now uber cars available, or I have to call then they immediately tell me no cars. I have never been able to rent, they workers immediately tell me no cars available. They lured Mr to a location with two emails saying car was available, I get their, for the site worker who waited till I got to the desk to tell me oh she tired to call tell me no car was available. I was furious called police, showed officers the confirmation, and my phone to show no one attempted to call. They spoke to location but still no car they didn't and never honor any of my reservations. I have begun to here from other renters trying rent using uber that they began asking forcredit cards. I'm I serious need of a car to do continue as a rideshare and still can't get a car from Avis. They workers have no sympathy for making customers in need of a vehicle for income, believe there is a vehicle waiting, getting my hopes up only to call or they call says no car. They have no business reserving cars, if there is no cars. But problem is I've attempted years and have never been able to get a car, in fact when ****************, ** location didn't honor my rental reservation while waiting on police because I was feed up of their workers lies, and this not taken seriously. I watch another young lady pull up in a uber get out go to counter then to cars a drive out in a car look like what they had reserved for me. Avis partnership with uber is horrible, they play games and lie. There rental car service is horrible. Lure me to a location was my last chance get a car to make money, and they once again lied. There's no excuse for this. I had a reservation today and two days ago I was told today call back Friday, all while avis message me why I missed car pick up

Regretfully, we are not able to make use of our standard fleet for Uber extended use for locations that support both standard customers and Uber driver customers.
