      While Budget's pricing was more affordable than the other rental car options, I deeply regret going with Budget. Several days into our travel, the key stopped working, and we were completely unable to operate the car (we couldn't unlock the doors and certainly couldn't crank or drive the car). Hours after contacting Budget, we were assisted by a towing company who came to us and fixed our key fob. Several days after returning the car, I received an invoice from Budget for the towing company expense (nearly $300). I called Budget to explain our circumstances, hoping the towing company invoice would not be my expense since they were only called because the car wasn't functioning. Instead, Budget informed me that they would not waive the cost and suggested that I should have purchased their rental insurance. I tried several different avenues to get the message through: our car was not 100% operational during the time we rented it, and we had done nothing to cause this. I was met with zero empathy. I am truly more disappointed in Budget's terrible customer service than their poor quality of cars. I will never rent from Budget or its affiliates/partners again.

      I 'reserved' a van 6 weeks out from the date needed. Received a call the day before my reservation starts to inform me that a minivan was not available and I could have an SUV. I didn't reserve an SUV because I have 6 ppl and luggage for a 10 day road trip. They find a minivan that is 2 hours in the opposite direction of where we are headed and so I ask if we can pick it up in the evening so even though we have to drive 2 extra hours, at least we wouldn't add 2 extra hours to our 11 hour road trip. They said we could but it would be $120 EXTRA. So, customers are expected to pay for the company's incompetence?! ZERO customer service, just someone with a thick accent repeatedly telling me that they hear what I'm saying and are sorry for the inconvenience. Do they not know how reservations work? I didn't look for any other locations or companies over the last 6 weeks because AVIS confirmed that I had a van reserved for 9:00 AM on 5/4 in *********, **. Avid and ***** have both impacted our vacation the past two years by overbooking. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A VEHICLE AVAILABLE, DON'T CONFIRM A RESERVATION!! You should know your inventory, the dates the vehicles are already rented and whether they are available for any new proposed dates by other renters. IT'S NOT THAT HARD. Ridiculous!! I only added one star because the review wouldn't submit with ZERO stars which is what they earned.

      Worst customer service Ive ever dealt with. Local agent neglected to give me my drivers license. I call and call and call and call the local number and they never answer. My friend went in to the office and took it and overnighted it at his own expense with a promise of a refund. When I turned in my car, since it had been prepaid, the man said they would have to process it, then return the $42. Never saw it. Waited a week, then called. After talking to roughly 4 different people (after the endless computer runaround) the lady said it will appear in 3-5 days. Waited another week. Same runaround. I currently am on hold with a supervisor because no one can help me. ZERO stars.

      No cars available and threats to call police unless I left the property. Unbelievable. I had a reservation at the Avis ************ location to pick up May 1. Upon arrival my husband and I were told no cars were available although the parking lot had 15+ cars onsite. The staff person explained all vehicles were rented and it was based on first come, first served. Another couple has already been told no cars were available. I asked if they were closing in 15 minutes, when the other cars would be rented. I was told that was none of my business. At that point I told the man he needed a new job and it was BS. The employee demeanor then turned to telling me and my husband to leave the property or he would call the police. He came from behind the counter and proceeded to walk me out and he locked the door. We left and have since reported this incident to the travel agencies we used to book the reservation. I certainly hope Avis ************ for *************** take corrective measures and that Priceline finds another rental car company in ************ ** that aligns with their values. If you are someone who likes to spend your money with a business that appreciates you, look elsewhere.

      My rental car on April 26th - April 29th was so FILTHY, me and my teenagers had to clean out the interior with disinfectant wipes (a whole pack). We found chew*** gum stuck on the back passenger door handle, and meanwhile- we were exhausted from our travels PCS-*** from ******* to **********. Ive been a member of AVIS for more than 4 years but this is unacceptable, I literally almost cried while we were clean*** out this car before leav*** the lot!. We mentioned it to the kiosk on our way out but didnt get any type of compensation for the huge inconvenience we had to go through because the people @ BWI didnt clean out the car when it was returned. We still paid the full price of $519, I dont think Ill be rent*** from AVIS again because of the trauma of that night me and my daughters had to go through. Its just not fair how businesses treat people this days, everyone should be held accountable for their actions.

      I have been Avis customer for many years, since 2007, every time that i rent a car i used to thought in Avis, My mindset changed last week when i got a letter from Avis asking for USD 400+ due to Smoke Smell. I rent this car to drive around *****, i visited some friends in *******, *********** and ***********, i drove the car all the time, and all the time i was with my wife and two teenager girls. I felt rip with this charge to my credit card, i called and explain that i never smoke and i was all the time with my family, that is impossible that the car smoke smell, but the customer service insist that they found cigarettes on the car. Im really disappointed, i believe that Avis did not clean the car well before handover to me otherwise their service contractor is not saying the true and trying to get money illegally and somebody in AVIS is taking advantage of this situation. I asked to talk to a manager but they asked me to wait for the call. a day later i got a letter saying they will charge to my credit card. I will report it to my account manager, i work for international company, i will make sure that they know about this incident, this is very embarrassing, Happily I will share this with my friends to make sure Avis dont steal their money like they illegally did with me, this is a shame. I hope AVIS investigate what is going on with their crappy service,

      THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! First of all I made a reservation for a moving truck. I get to the location and the guy doesnt even help and just says he cant support my reservation. I then called customer service to try and get a different reservation somewhere else and the lady on the phone was VERY rude. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said at first I had to wait 2 hours to speak to one then when I insisted again she said supervisors call back with 72 hours. I didnt appreciate being lied to at all!!! Luckily U-Haul came to the rescue and had a truck for us! IF YOU WANT TO GET A RENTAL RUN AWAY FROM BUDGET!! THEY ARE RUDE AND NOT A GOOD COMPANY AT ALL!!

      Sadly, choosing zero star rating isnt an option or I would. This is the third time Ive rented from Avis out of SeaTac. All bad experiences, very long wait times with few people in line, second car was filthy and looked like someone vomited on the rear bumper, and the windows were so dirty that the glare from oncoming lights made it hard to see driving at night in the rain in an unfamiliar area. Last night, Thursday 4/25, our flight was 2 hrs late arriving and Avis was the only rental company with anyone in line. So many people that one of the reps directed patrons to go to other rental companies that could help, and stated we would receive a refund if we called. It was so late and we were exhausted after a long day of travel and the host we were staying with had to get to bed for work. We decided to go with Fox Rentals and were out with a car in no time. I cancelled my prepaid reservation through the email and received a message that no refund would be issued. Today, I called the tel# listed in the reservation for SeaTac Avis. The # sent me to regular customer service and I was told after a 10 min wait that no refund would be given for my prepaid reservation, but cancellation wouldnt have been a problem if it wasnt prepaid. She said we would have to deal with it at the Avis airport rental desk when we catch our flight home. Unfortunately, we dont have time to wait in a line for an hour or more to rectify this. I called to see if another rep could help, spoke with someone, held for another 10 mins, and was disconnected. They have my cell # and made no attempt to contact me back. I am so disappointed with Avis that I will never rent from them again since they have no interest in helping when theres an issue or honoring what their agent told us while waiting in line. Very poor business practice.

      Clever bait and switch loophole costing me almost $900!Pre-paid for a car rental with Avis for a family vacation in March. After a 2 hour wait in their car pick up line I was told that my rental rate was no longer valid and that if I wanted a car I would have to pay additional $900 or I could try my luck with one of the other rental car companies. It was 11PM, I had my wife, 6 & 4 year old children with me and the rental car center was closing in less than an hour... they new they had me. Reluctantly agreed and took the rental.On top of that, car was disgusting, almost 90K miles, dirty and had been smoked in. Great start to our family vacation. Never again for me, pay the extra up front and go with a more reputable company, it will be savings in the end... Buyer beware!
