1 starIf a 0 rating could be given it would they were paid through a travel site over thirteen hundred then when arriving at the airport to pick up the car said they did not have the car that was booked but would upgrade me free then they needed a deposit at first they tried to charge me 800 then it was around 521 no issues with the car it was returned it no damage clean an full tank never got my deposit an then after returning back to the states my card was charged around 500 more when the company was contacted they said the charge was for a navigation but did not get a navigation the upgraded car had a built in navigation so one was no longer needed one an was told that there would be no charge for this. Around 2300 to rent a car is ridiculous. People need to watch their accounts when it comes to this company.Avis Rent A Car

1 starI wish I could give zero stars. The customer service is horrible, essentially scamming people out of money weeks after theyve returned their rental by making unjustified charges on their stored credit cards. The charge people weeks after rental cars returned with unjustified charges. An example would be smoking charge to some one who is never a smoker or allergic to smoke. Charged me cleaning fee of 450 USD after 10 days. Upon returning the vehicle, it was thoroughly inspected both inside and outside by your agent at the return terminal. I received a return receipt via email confirming that the car was in acceptable condition.Please type 450 , cleaning fee, smoke on ****** and take a look at many other reviews to have an idea what I am taking about. This location has been scamming people for years. I wonder why Avis isnt doing any thing for this.Avis Rent A Car

Renters are expected to return their vehicle in the condition it was provided to them in. If a car is returned to us with soilage residue that a customer leaves behind, a location will bill up to $450.00 to clean the car so that it can be rented again. Based on the photos provided by the location of food, trash, and dirt in the floors and seats of the vehicle, the cleaning charge is appropriate for the condition the vehicle was returned in. We understand you may not agree with this policy, but this is the expense associated with restoring the car after your use.
We apologize that there was not a more favorable outcome.

1 starOn April 30th, I rented a car from ******** location for Uber drivers. I paid $379.18 for a week rental and Avis representative gave me the phone number to call if I would need to extend the reservation. A day before the due date, I contacted Avis rep. and received the confirmation that the car was extended for another week. Few days later the same rep. called and then texted me that he is "running late with the contracts and not to worry as he has my extension and my debit card on the files". After two weeks of rental, I came to the location to return the car and pickup a new one that that I booked online. It was the same rep. and he told me that actually they have no cars to rent and advised me to keep the car that Im renting. On Tuesday May 21st, I sent a text requesting rent for another week through May 28th. The representative texted me back confirming and asking for the actual millage.. This morning I noticed a fraud alert from *********** saying that AVIS is trying to charge my card with an amount $2.101,07 so I ran to the car to grab the contract to call Avis as I thought it must be a mistake. So I went outside and saw the car is gone. I immediately called the police and sent a text to the rep. informing him that someone had stolen the car. I received his reply the rep. that the car was not stolen but was towed due to overdue non payment. It looks like fraud and I have all evidence of our correspondence and charges and my confirmations with the bank. Perhaps all of these so called "delays and running late with the contracts and charges" is an excuse to come up with sudden charges. I texted the rep. that I will report this as fraud and asked to have my medication back (without having it I'm risking my health) that was in the car, including my other person belongings. As the reply I received the message that it is "my responsibility to ensure the payments are made in a timely manner. I see this as eventual cover up for someones intentional manipulation.Avis Rent A Car

1 starAvis charged my corporate credit card $1,236.54 for a windshield ding three weeks after I returned a car "as rented" with zero defects. This is blatant credit card fraud and criminal theft and has been reported as such.To try and accuse me of breaking a windshield three weeks after the fact, knowing it was returned in its original condition, is by definition fraudulent. And it's a known issue with Avis as evident in online searches under such search strings as "Avis windshield scam" et al. They've somehow been getting away with this scam for decades, despite their own admission and copping to it (also documented online). They will ultimately be held accountable for their fraudulent activity. I'm reporting it here, but also to multi-states' insurance governing bodies while also pursuing them legally. It's surprising that they're still working this hustle - apparently, it's paying big dividends for them thus far.Avis Rent A Car

1 starReserved a rental car online after a vehicle accident. Went to pick the car up and there was no car available. Reservation was made 90 minutes before we arrived to pick the car up. Website allowed the reservation to go through with no car available for pick up time. Called CS Was bounced around between 7 different people. Was told refund would take 3-5 business days. Today is business day 5 and our bank hasn't even gotten a pending refund. Called again today was bounced between 3 more people. Now they are telling me it will be an addition 3-5 business days for the refund. No supervisors available to speak to. They say "you will get a call back in ***** hours from a supervisor". People I spoke to were in call centers in *********** and *********. I've gotten nothing but a run around and paid $350 for a rental I never received. I have missed a full week of work because of not having a vehicle.Avis Rent A Car

1 starRental agreement # xxxx27275 Avis ***********. Pick up. 04/07/24. Return. 04/11/24 Charged ****** for damage due to smoke smell. No smoking occurred while I had the vehicle And there was NO smoke smell upon returning the vehicle. 17 hours after I returned the vehicle the damage was recorded. I had no control over or knowledge of what may have occurred with the vehicle during this time. The vehicle was returned early because the right rear tire would not maintain pressure. Avis presented bogus paper work to defend the claim. Black, blurry pictures were supposed To be proof of smoke smell . The charge is fraud.Avis Rent A Car

Additionally, we do show after your rental the vehicle was removed from service for cleaning. Based on this we do find the cleaning fee to be valid and will be upheld.

1 starI reserved a car online and pre-paid $501.92. When I arrived, I was told they were out of cars. So they sent me 20 minutes down the road to the other Avis location to get one, and they also didnt have a car. Why would you allow people to pre-pay for a car you dont have?! I was never given an email or phone call letting know they didnt have any. So I was completely stranded with no car, and was told I would be issued a refund. I waited 16 days for the refund, and it never came. So I called today, only to find out they never even processed my refund. So now I have to wait another 7-10 days to receive my refund, for a car I never got!!!! This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any company. I never leave bad reviews, but this was just too much. People should be warned. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!Avis Rent A Car

Our apologies for not having your reserved vehicle available. We forecast vehicle availability based on how vehicles are scheduled to return. Several circumstances could cause inventory issues such as vehicles being extended, not returned on time or as agreed, returned to a different location, or breakdowns. We do our best to accommodate every rental but sometimes if vehicles aren't returned when they are scheduled, it causes us to be short on vehicles. We completely understand how frustrating and inconvenient this situation has been for you.
We do confirm that our **************** team has submitted the full refund of your $501.92 prepayment on May 20th. While our automated prepayment system typically processes adjustments within 3-5 days of a submission, it can take up to 14 business days in some cases; regretfully, we cannot expedite this process.

1 starRENTAL AGREEMENT NUMBER: 710******RENTAL NAME: ***** RENTAL LOCATION: **************************************** DATE: APRIL 17, 2024 When I picked up my rental on April 17, 2024, the check out agent asked if I wanted to purchase a gas service option - so I did not need to refill the tank before I dropped off the vehicle. I told them, NO, I don't want to purchase that. I will fill up the tank myself. Just before dropping off the rental car, I filled up the tank of gas. When I received my receipt from avis I noticed it was higher than expected, however it did not break down what the additional expenses were. I had to log on and download a receipt to learn that i had been charged $53.24 for the gas service fee. I immediately called avis from airport to report the over charge. The person I spoke with was extremely dismissive, but they eventually agreed to refund the payment. They said it would appear in few days. I explained that I thought this was a pattern because I saw many complaints for the same thing at the same location. Eventually, they also agreed to send a discount code. It has been one month and I have not received the refund. This seems to be a fraudulent practice by avis. When I have tried to reach out to customer service they dismiss me. I will never use this car company again. They have stolen $55 from me, but I wonder how many millions they have stolen from other customers that did not check their receipts.Avis Rent A Car
