1 starWill NEVER DO BUSINESS with Avis again over my experience here. Rude at every single interaction. Had people waiting and basically cursed at customers if they asked for more information or as one customer did at pick up, asked why the ********************** he was getting wasnt the one he ordered. ***** got mad and just threatened to cancel on him right there. That shouldve been my warning to run but was in a hurry. Rented a long term (month) rental. Charged me an additional $450 for cleaning because of pet hair. Seriously a vacuum cleaner to the back seat for 5 minutes apparently. They never mentioned that it would be a 450 dollar cleaning fee if your pet rode in the car and I DO understand some level of fee for cleaningbut 450 dollars is insane. It feels like Im being robbed after the fact. Avoid this agency at all costs. Theyre crooks and will nickel and dime you at every opportunityAvis Rent A Car

Renters are expected to return the vehicle in the condition they received it in. If a car is returned to us with pet hair, stains, or other soilage residue that a customer leaves behind, a location will bill up to $450.00 to clean the car so that it can be rented again. We understand you may not agree with this policy, but this is the expense associated with restoring the car after your use. We do find the charge to be appropriate for the amount of animal hair throughout the floors and seats of the vehicle after your use.
We apologize that there was not a more favorable outcome.

1 starI rented vehicle # 0 9 7 7 9 3 0 7 6 and returned it to the Avis at *************** (***********************) on June 11, 2024. Both myself and an Avis representative inspected the car upon return and it was in good condition. I was told by the representative that I was good to go. A week later I was charged $125 extra for excessive dirt/sand. At best this charge was a mistake and hopefully not an attempt at fraud or deception for extra money. Regardless, I will not be renting a car from Avis any time in the future. I would like Avis to review this and reverse said charge.Avis Rent A Car

Renters are expected to return the vehicle in the condition it was received in. If a car is returned to us with trash, dirt of any kind, stains, or other soilage residue that a customer leaves behind, a location will bill up to $450.00 to clean the car so that it can be rented again. Based on the photos provided by the location of the sand left in the floor of the vehicle upon your return, we do find the cleaning charge to be appropriate. 1 starAvis is horrible, I reserved a vehicle a month in advance, they kept sending me email reminders telling me everything was good to go. Two days before scheduled pick up everything was fine, but then the day of I get a call 3 hours before pick up time to tell me that they did not have a vehicle for me. Keep in mind that when I made my reservation a month in advance I also paid in full for said vehicle.Avis Rent A Car

1 starSymptomatically, they never have cars in the reserved category and then try to lock you into an ** vehicle for the reserved price, which in my case is never an option. I have never reserved an ** car, so they then offer you an upgrade for extra $$$. Every time I try to rent from AVIS, it's the same story. Very bad business practice. Read the reviews, the ** story, like they have an option that is no options to lock you in a higher price is shared by others too!Avis Rent A Car

1 starWe had an upsetting experience at the ** Car Rental service desk at ***************, despite our status as President's **** members. Upon arriving, my husband and I approached your preferred service desk as we were not satisfied with our assigned vehicle, which had ****** miles on the odometer. We inquired about the possibility of obtaining a different car. The staff informed us of an additional charge, which we were considering. However, we were then told that this charge would result in a negative "record" on our profile, potentially restricting our future rental choices. This policy was conveyed in a manner that was confusing, surprising, and frankly unwelcome.The situation deteriorated when the staff member displayed significant impatience. During our conversation, when my husband attempted to explain our concerns, the employee pointed at me and said, "You, explain to me." Overwhelmed by his aggressive demeanor, I found myself in tears and asked him, "Can you stop being so rude?" It was only after this emotional plea that his tone finally softened slightly.but why should a respectful interaction be so difficult to achieve from the start?The subsequent interaction with the manager was equally disheartening. Rather than attempting to understand or rectify the situation, the manager seemed eager only to expedite the process, asking dismissively, "What car do you want?" We expressed that we were fine with any vehicle but highlighted that the staff's attitude was unacceptable. Regrettably, the manager did nothing to address this. From the beginning to the end of our interaction, he only offered a perfunctory "sorry for your experience" once, which did little to acknowledge the severity of the staff's behavior or the impact it had on us. As loyal customers who have just endured a ****** flight, we are deeply disappointed and feel mistreated. We are fully aware that providing good service is a major factor in separating us from the competition. 1 starWould give a 0 stars if possible. No shade to the countless customer service employees who tried to help me the several times I had to call to resolve what ended up being a billing error on the part of AVIS. Unfortunately, they could only do so much, and when I was finally able to get in contact with someone who had a shred of authority over the phone, they were not able to identify the billing error and put it on me and asked me snidely if I had reviewed the contract before renting a car. Long story short, it took a family member going to the vehicle drop off location and having the police called on her (the police officer later told my family member that they often get complaints about the staff at that location), and then me having to go the the pickup location outside of town and getting a physical copy from THEIR system where I could see an itemized breakdown of charges. Turned out that it didn't add up, and we were being charged an additional $450 for no reason, and after two weeks+ of inquiry, we got my money returned to my card.Avis Rent A Car

1 starI recently flew to ************** (***) and had a rental reserved for a two-day business trip through *********, with plans to return the car at the *************. I understand that the rate for this service is premium, and although it was quoted at $154.79 per day, I agreed. My estimated total for the trip was $610.81, including all surcharges and fees. Upon dropping off the car, they scanned the barcode off the windshield and emailed my receipt. Later, on the plane, I noticed that I had been charged $171.99 per day, with additional charges for gas, which I just filled up, and an extra full day added. This was because I was over an hour late due to a detour during my drive. As a result, my total bill ended up being $940.66 for less than 50 hours of rental!!I contacted customer service in *****, but they were unable to assist me and referred me to the *** office. The customer service there was terrible; they refused to do anything. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told I would have to wait in an escalation queue that could take hours, and someone might have to call me back. I proceeded to wait 50 mins. Until someone picked up to say they would call me back. Suffice it to say, no one has called me back, and I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received and feel cheated. We have checked our records and show that your daily rate is $171.99 per day with a 10% discount which brings it down to $154.79. Per your receipt your total discount was $51.60 so your daily charges were billed correctly. Additionally, we do not show a fuel charge billed, the reason your rental is higher is that at the start of the rental you accepted our Loss Damage Waiver (***). The *** is $30.99 per day and waives your responsibility in the event of loss or damage to the vehicle.

After several rentals from this location I have been fraud entry charged for "free upgrades" and damage to a car that I proved with video was not the way I accepted the car or returned it. After expressing my concerns several times to the local management and corporate, it seems that this is they way they do business and you shouldn't rent from this orginization.Avis Rent A Car

1 starBIG SCAM CHEATERS! AVOID THEM COMPLETELY!Never ever book with Avis Car. I booked my car reservation and paid in full 6 months back. I called yesterday and spoke to ******, customer service requesting him to prepone the pickup time by 1 hour. However, he instead flatly canceled my booking without my permission and disconnected the phone line instantly and I got the cancelation email immediately, they may want me to rebook car at a higher price and make money. I called them back and talked to atleast 5 representatives including their New Jersey head office , but none of them were helpful despite sharing the story in detail and I wasted atleast 3 hours of my valuable time over the phone. I now left with no other option but to book with another car rental company with a very higher price as my traveling is 4 days away. AVIS are big cheaters in the nation. I am completely disappointed, dissatisfied and perturbed on the services, products and workmanship. Beware, never rent car from AVIS AND AVOID THEM COMPLETELY, you will be cheated. RKAvis Rent A Car
