      I rented a car from ATL *************** location. I pre paid and declined all insurance and other fees. I collected my car and was not offered any other options or insurance. I returned the car the next day. When I got my e-receipt I noticed an additional charge of *****+ for some option and its fees that the counter rep at ATL apparently added to my policy without my knowledge or consent. They simply charged my card the additional amount as if I wouldnt notice. Now I need to wait through their customer service system to fight for a refund. Ive already sent 2 emails. Next stop is my credit card company to do a charge back.

      I mistakenly trusted the guy behind the counter. I told him I was full insured and trusting him initialed here and there. On checking out I was billed $400.00 for Loss Damage. Beware everyone who may rent from Avis or Budget.

      Rental charges are based on the rental parameters provided in the reservation or based on any changes made by the customer at the time the contract is created at the rental counter. These contracts are signed by the customer at the time of ********************** so that by signing the rental agreement contract, the customer agrees to all of the ********************** charges and any potential costs associated with changes in your rental parameters. The costs associated with any changes in the rental parameters are also outlined on the written contract. If a customer does not agree with the contract details presented at time of rental, it is the due responsibility of the renter to request clarification and correction prior to departing the location with the rental agreement and vehicle.

      We are disappointed that you feel you were manipulated into signing for these items. Although we do not doubt your veracity, our decisions are based on the facts at hand. The additional coverage was provided by Avis. In the event of an accident, damage to the rental car, third party property, etc., your financial responsibility would have been greatly reduced if not voided completely. Because of this we are unable to remove the cost of the coverage.

      Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do appreciate your contacting us.

      I just spent the 1/2 with Avis customer service rep and supervisor after my online booking did not reflect the "Pay Now" rate chosen. Amazing that both told me that the "Pay Now" rate was probably no longer available yet the terms of the "Pay Now" rate (at this point a $50 cancellation fee) still applied to my reservation. If I cancelled I would incur the fee. Interesting that the only time you were able to see the rate change was AFTER you paid! Easy way for Avis to make some money. When I brought up the fact that I had also received an email stating up to 35% off my next rental which never materialized, the response was the similar. The percentage is not guaranteed. The supervisor said she would issue a full refund but only if I rebooked with Avis with the "Pay Later" price. The story just kept getting worse. When I asked who I could communicate my frustrations and concerns over false advertising and entrapment, she said no one, but she would bring it up at her next meeting. And you guessed it, no, they could not get back in touch with me.Another complaint I read summed it up well. "Avis used misleading and predatory practices..."The rental is for this coming weekend and sadly there was NO other option available at this particular airport.

      Had a rental booked for 2 oclock an we were not supplied a vehicle until 4pm that was only after having them supply a vehicle that wasnt available so then one of us had to go back up an do all the paper work again to finally get a vehicle while the other two of us were just walking around with a worker who wasnt really trying to help as he just check every vehicle and had excuse for each vehicle why we could have it . Also tried to give us a vehicle the would have been double the gas mileage.

      I am an avis preferred member so pick up of the vehicle was simple enough. Returning the vehicle is where the problems started. There is no designated return area for vehicles like at other airports. This resulted in a line of cars outside of the office. The line of cars was single lane and only about 10 cars and blocked new renters from leaving and blocked parking lot incoming traffic. After 15 minutes I was to get out of my car and waited for 10 minutes for 1 Avis Employee to tell me everything was good and I can go. He did not even look at the car. Fast forward 3 days. Avis has not sent me a receipt. Log into Avis app & website and it shows the car has not been returned. Call customer support. They said the local office has not processed the return, there is nothing they, customer service, can do and I had to wait. **************** said they had no idea how long it will take and said they will not contact the location to find out status or help drive this to a resolution. I was told there is nothing that can be done but wait. Why does it take more 3 days to register a car being returned? Why does customer service do nothing to help resolve the problem/help the customer?

      When we arrived at Avis, they only had one vehicle remotely close to what we reserved. When we got inside, it was evident that it had been heavily smoked in and as the heat of the day baked it in, it continued to worsen. We were told to contact Avis anywhere along our trip and they would help us. We were sent to *********, *******, *************** (2 locations) and spent hours out of our trip trying to remedy the issue and even paid money for odor absorbers, odor masking, and eye drops due to burning eye issues. We had 2 passengers suffer throat irritation, coughing, and one passenger suffered nausea when in the car after it sat in the heat multiple times. We all had eye irritation and sinus burning after the first day. My husband, who has nodes on his lungs and was in an accident the day before our trip that caused him to have bruised ribs and swelling on his spine, had breathing irritation that exasperated his lung issue and caused him greater discomfort.We tried to replace the vehicle many times, and on 2 occasions were treated very unprofessional by employees at the Avis rental sites that we had been sent to by the call in service number. Not once did they show empathy or give us a feasible solution.As the driver of the vehicle, I started having second hand smoke headaches, that have continued for days since and I have not found relief.Just today I received a letter saying that we were being charged an additional $450.00 due to a cleaning fee. Other than the smoke, we left the vehicle very clean.I booked through ****** Travel and now hope they will help make things right. Avis seemed very unconcerned about the negative effects and health issues. Even though they claim to be 100% smoke free according to their contract and receipt.

      All vehicles are introduced to our fleet as non-smoking cars. While our policy is not to smoke in the vehicles, there are customers that will smoke in them. We do our best to get the smell out but we aren't always successful. We understand how frustrating and disappointing this situation must be for you and all of our customers. We assure you that we are doing everything we can to address these issues and prevent vehicles in that condition from going out.

      We do confirm that our **************** team applied a courtesy adjustment of $303.94 from the rental charges and additionally stopped the pending cleaning fee for debris in recognition of your experience.

      We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your concerns. We do hear you and we are making changes to improve in these areas.

      NEVER AGAIN! Rental vehicle was filthy inside, as if it was never vacuumed out after the previous user. Driver side windshield wiper was destroyed, didnt discover this until we got caught in a rain storm and was unable to clear the window to see and continue to drive. Vehicle was returned around 1230 PM, however Avis sent me a toll receipt stating I didnt return the vehicle until 313 PM, which is impossible because I was on an airplane at that time. I also never drove on a toll road the whole week I had the vehicle. **************** wouldnt help in any way and told me I needed to contact the toll ***** The real question is, who had the vehicle for the 3 hours from the time I actually returned the vehicle, and the time theyre claiming I returned the vehicle?! I wouldnt rent from Avis again even if they gave me the vehicle for free!!

      Please understand Budget does not bill you for the toll charges directly. As stated in the terms and conditions of your Budget rental jacket in the section for Rental Charges, by signing the rental agreement, you do allow Budget to submit your own billing information for toll charges. We have reached out to the toll authority to advise of the recorded rental use so that billing for toll use can be issued to the correct rental.

      Im a loyal customer with **********************, I literally rent every other week but this is my last time for sure. They have no compassion and are just trash at customer resolutions. I rented a vehicle from the airport to get home using the app, agreement ********* It wouldnt allow me to select a different drop off location. It was 3am so I called customer service later that morning to make the change. For customer service to update the location it would cost me $230.00 when the rental was only $61.00. I only needed the rental to get home so I dropped it off at my local Avis which is 2 hours away from the airport where I picked it up from. Fast forward, 1 day turns into 3 because it didnt make since for me to pay so much money to drop the car off for $230. Now Im driving in the storm 2 hours away with an electric vehicle that costed more to charge than the rental car itself. I tried calling customer again to express my frustration and spoke to *************************, his trash response matched the Avis service. Im so disgusted with today that I will NEVER rent from them again.

      Rate structures are similar to airline pricing; our prices change depending on car availability, location popularity, and many other factors. Even with special offers, the advertised rate usually applies to a limited supply of cars which varies daily by make and model at each location. From review of your rental, availability may have affected your ability to reserve a last-minute reservation for one-way travel; if vehicles are not available for one-way travel, but one-way use is still completed, a rental may be subject to additional fees or rate changes as indicated in our terms of use.

      Reserved a van and paid 5 weeks prior to the trip. Drove over an hour to pick the van up. I said I bet they dont have one when we get there they have terrible reviews. Guess what...after 20 minutes the employee called a boss for assistance because they had 3 vans and the system wouldn't let her assign one. We got a "sorry for your inconvenience" no Vans available they said they had a recall. A ****** search shows a recall over a week ago, I guess they didn't know they had a recall after all of the reminder emails they sent to us to pick it up even one 2 hours prior to us arriving. We asked if there was another Avis nearby and the response was "I don't know"

      Our apologies for not having your reserved vehicle available. Sometimes when making your reservation well in advance, we do expect to have certain vehicles available on those dates. Several circumstances could cause inventory issues such as vehicles being extended, not returned on time or as agreed, returned to a different location, or breakdowns. We do our best to accommodate every rental but sometimes we are unable to overcome a fleet limitation such as a vehicle recall.

      Years of providing them with business- they could care less if I am a loyal customer. They are unorganized, unprofessional, and I will never use them again after them giving me multiple vehicles that were dirty and not functional.
