      I was just charged for damages that did not happen, and then told as "a courtesy" they would give me half my money back if I agreed to take it immediately, otherwise I would get nothing. Here is the background: On 6/22/24 I rented a car from Avis - ********* for $501.45. The dates for the rental were 7/3/24 through 7/9/24. On 8/30/24 I noticed a change from Avis in ********* on my credit card dated 8/24/24 for $319 - 47 days after I returned that car. I thought that maybe I was somehow double-billed or that some other mistake had occurred. I called Avis **************** who told me that I was charged for a dent, and that I needed to call Claims. I was livid. There was no damage to that car when I returned it. I didn't see any photo proof. I never was stopped at check-out. I didn't get a call or an email after check-out. No one ever reached out at all. I still don't know where on the car the damage supposedly was located. Claims then told me they had no record, and sent me back to ****************. Today, 9/3/24, **************** (*******) told me at first that she was "not seeing any dents." Then, after a lengthy hold, she came back and told me that they reported a scratch that needed to be "sprayed." She said that the spray was $319, but that as a one-time courtesy, she was willing to refund half, charging me a mere $159.05 for damage that I didn't do, and was not ever notified about. She then told me that I either took that deal then and there, or I would pay the full $319. I believe that is actually extortion, and I am not willingly paying for damage that I was never even notified about. Then she told me, "you can always call your bank and dispute the charges."       This is the worst company I have ever come across in my entire life! I would NEVER recommend them to anyone! I have been renting an **** car from them for the last 3 weeks and it had to be towed 3 nights ago. They have completely refused to refund me for the week of renting the car for it being towed, and have denied that it was ever towed, even tho I provided them the tow ticket directly from the tow company, the invoice, pictures, videos, text messages from the man who towed the car, everything! And they are claiming I'm making it all up! And they have over charged me$300 over the last 3 weeks! They are lucky I don't sue them! I've never been so betrayed in my entire life! I can't even make a prophet from **** because every ***** I make, they over charge me for their rental car that ended up breaking down on me and getting towed! What a scam! And every time I call Avis, they are short with me on the phone and hang up on me like I'm some kind of inconvenience to them! Not to mention the fact that the car they rented to me had been previously in an accident and they never bothered to mention that to me, and how unprofessional to rent me a car in that condition, let alone for ***** **** is MY BUSINESS, meaning they is how I make my money! So obviously AVIS doesn't care or take is seriously that others have to make money using their vehicles, and had no problem renting that vehicle to me in such poor condition, and had the audacity to not only charge me FULL PRICE for that vehicle in AWFUL condition, but OVER CHARGE ME 3 weeks in a row! And with NO REMORSE for doing so! Because I went back and forth with customer service every week and they DID NOT CARE that I was being over charged $100/week! Anyway, Avis is a horrible company and I do not recommend them to ANYONE! NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE you may be for a vehicle! It's simply NOT WORTH IT!

      For **** rentals, Avis will issue a hold for the value of one week of use and this hold will be used to pay for the completed week at the scheduled time of renewal. Renters are responsible for ensuring that payment can be processed as scheduled, and if we are unable to process a renewal as scheduled due to lack of funds or declines, the current rental will either continue to be billed for each additional day of use or will be backdated when payment becomes available to us; this may result in overlapping or adjacent transactions. If you believe this to be in error, we do request that you provide a billing statement reflecting any unaccounted for completed transactions to our **************** team for further review. 

      Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do appreciate your contacting us.

      Worst customer service at all on its **************** lines, at the ************* Office and the company itself. They take advantage of their customers mostly if you are a tourist. The company is negligent and abusive. I would give it less than 1 star if I could. Worst rent a car service at all.

      I can not even leave a star for this location AND company! The service was awful and extremely unprofessional. After paying close to $500 for a rental, the company ended up giving our rental away! We were an hour late for our rental time due to traffic, and the representative stated he gave the car away and that there were no more cars! This is extremely unprofessional, and it goes against the contractual terms that the renter and company agree on. The company did not inform us that the rental was given away, and when customer service was contacted, they also stated that the terms and conditions of the rental is 15 hours grace time! They also did not provide any alternatives to assist with travel, and they also could not provide anything in writing backing up their "executive" decision to give our car away. **************** also tried to sell a higher rated car and pay an additional fee for expenses!! This company is absolutely unconstitutional!

      We forecast vehicle availability based on how vehicles are scheduled to return. Several circumstances could cause inventory issues such as vehicles being extended, not returned on time or as agreed, returned to a different location, or breakdowns. We do our best to accommodate every rental but sometimes if vehicles aren't returned when they are scheduled, it causes us to be short on vehicles. I completely understand how frustrating and inconvenient this situation has been for you.

      I rented from August 10 - August 13 in *********/ ** area. I was charged a $125 cleaning fee for a small dry sand on the carpet that, by the **************** ***** own admission - could have been cleaned up in a minute by shaking out the floor mats. (Her words, not mine.) They sent me a letter via snail mail and hoped I would not notice this fee. Despite spending an hour on the phone with **************** and multiple ***** they kept claiming that there was nothing they could do.- I was told the car was fine upon return.- There was a minor amount of dry sand.- The **************** kept telling me I needed to talk to the people at the location if I had any hope of reversing the charge, yet Avis' own phone system made that impossible.- In essence, if you step foot into the vehicle while you have paid to rent it, you cannot get a speck of anything on the floor (even something that would be an absolutely routine vacuum between customers), or they will claim you "didn't return in the condition you received it" and will charge you a scam fee.- In a beach town.I paid over $700 to rent the car for 3 days. Apparently that was still not enough for them. They still pulled this and have to many others. Be extremely wary - not a reputable company and out to scam customers.Not to mention cost of the time and frustration.

      If a car is returned to us with trash, pet hair, dirt of any kind, spills and stain, or other soilage residue that a customer leaves behind, a location will bill up to $450.00 to clean the car so that it can be rented again. We understand you may not agree with this policy, but this is the expense associated with restoring the car after your use. However, our **************** team did agree to reduce this charge by 30%, which has since been submitted.

      ******** company Avis is so bad and I was so exploited by this company it is absolutely sad. I used them as a way to make money driving for ****. They would go into my account on Wednesday take that money and then the next day hold another $347 for a week or maybe 3 days cancel it and then come in the next day and take their money. In the meantime it was constantly getting overdrafts and I had to pay for the overdraft. Now I am without a car and they're still making money it is so wrong I am very sad. I work hard for my money and if I could buy a car I would. Blame it on the small guy fine that's okay. Do not rent from this company if you are a **** or a Lyft driver. Trust me they charge a lot of money and yes I did it but I had no idea all of the other things that will come with it. Overdrafts. Now if I was only paying 347 a week and they would not go into my bank account the whole funds the next day okay fine. This company had the nerve to cancel me on **** because of non-payment and I was told I get 3 days but no they cut me off immediately. Not understanding that there's a possibility that I had bills I need to pay because of them I had overdrafts I had to work my **** off to try to pay them and to pay my bills. I am so tired of all these big companies exploiting people after or before covid. I work hard for my money just like they do and for me to have to deal with this it is absolutely shameful. I am I normally don't write reviews but I needed to want everyone if you rent a car for a ride share for Avis make sure they explain everything to you. I have called customer service I have been getting a run around like you've never seen in your life no one has explained anything to me no one paid the overdraft fees it was all on me. I don't have one dime I had to make sure my rent got paid and now I am not able to drive it is extremely sad that I am writing for hard-working people out there no matter what rental ride share company you work for protect yourself!

      Avis **** rentals are structured to process authorization for one week of use and this authorization is to be used for billing after the rental week is completed. Renters are responsible for ensuring that funds are available for each weekly renewal as scheduled and may encounter adjacent or overlapping transactions if Avis has to "catch up" the payments; renters may also be subject to late penalties if payment is delayed and a renewal cannot be completed.

      Terrible!! Discrimination falsely accuses customers! Mother and son Duo bad fit business!!if someone reports or complain to customer service about her son WHOs and employee she will finna a way to false make accusations so you cant rent from Avis!! But thanks God Ive kept proof and videos!! They should be investigated due to poor customer service bad employee etc!

      Called made a reservation on phone with an actual operator and made me pre pay for car went to pick up car and the shop is closed so I was furious I called customer service and they said they didn't know why they were closed nor would they attempt to contact them to find out why they were not open and I requested to get my money back like ASAP meaning today since they took my money today and they said no I'd have to wait 5 to 7 business days again I'm furious

      Awful. I was charged extra for returning the car on time from when I said I would. The person at the desk wrote the wrong time in my agreement so they claimed I was an hour late. Then they charged me for an extra day of insurances. When I called to complain they said they would refund me for the extra day of insurance charges but still charge me for the 1 hour late return. Instead, they charged me AGAIN for an extra hour. I called several times and all they kept saying was wait 5-8 business days for the refund. It's been weeks and nothing. Instead of paying $560, I ended up paying over $800.

      DO NOT RENT FROM AVIS. Recently AVIS rented me and my family a non road worthy unsafe vehicle with a nail in the tire. They knew about the nail cause they had a white arrow point to it in which I have picture./ documentation, I tried over 10 times calling customer service and the ********************** counter at *************************** and we're unable to get thru. This unlawful act has caused so much inconvenience and should not be avis standard. once I finally got thru to customer service and spent hours on the phone they refunded $115 dollars, I Unbelievable and on top of that they over charged me as well by $147 saying I was late when I was not. And as other reviews I read car was given to us was also dirty we found someonelses french fries, maps, lip balm. I just wish I read the reviews before renting from Avis.
