      After spending nearly an hour on the Avis lot a ********************************, I asked where my car was. The Manager's response was to screen at me and tell me to get off "his" lot. Great customer service!!!!

      Reports such as this are not taken lightly. This is not typical of our rental locations and we will be filing a report to the Philadelphia Regional Manager advising them of this situation for their further review to be addressed. As you can understand, Avis **************** is not privy to the details of the actions taken as these records are restricted to the individual employees personal files. Again, the behavior you experienced is considered highly unacceptable under any circumstances and we can assure you all necessary actions will be taken to ensure this is stopped.

      We apologize for not being able to locate a vehicle for you at your arrival time. We do our best to accommodate every rental but sometimes if vehicles aren't returned when they are scheduled or a flight comes in late or early it can throw off what we were anticipating for that time and may cause us to be short on vehicles. We know your time is valuable and we are glad we were ultimately able to get you in a vehicle and on your way.

      Rented a *** from the **********, *************** location and the *** they gave me was horrible the whole front end shook if you went over 75 mph the windshield wiper on the driver side was split and didnt wipe properly. I called and talked to some one and never heard back from anyone on what they needed to do. I had a 7 month in the vehicle and it was unsafe.

      I rented a car from Avis at the ***************** location. I rented an intermediate SUV. What we got was a Dodge Hornet. This vehicle was like a Geo Metro. 3 days before our trip ended the car started to over heat and only blew hot air and went in to turtle mode. This limited our acceleration as you got on the hyw. I drove to the Avis where we were staying and he told me there was no other rental and that I had to just deal with it. He said they had 2 others of the same car there with the same issue. The temperature for the week we were there was over 100. Driving a vehicle that you pay way to much for and not being able to have A/C and scared we would be stranded in the desert is beyond crazy. We stayed in **** AZ. I have never had any issues with a rental before so I didn't know what else to do. I got no compensation no apologies nothing. Other that a letter in the mail saying there computer was hacked and now all my info is out there Name, address, drivers license, and credit card info. Since this my credit card has been hacked and 2 new accounts opened. It has been 2 weeks of h*** If I could give a zero star I would.

I absolutely get how frustrating and disappointing this situation must be for you and all of our customers.       When I picking up car I was not provided with a contract because they said the printer didn't work. The agent also made no mention of a drop off charge.The online agreement only showed the total price and no mention of a drop off charge for a one way rental. The price went from $344.92 to $445.02 and only found out when I saw charge on credit card. There is no fine print to indicate this before rental, but contract I received after I turned in car has the notice in the fine print.I believe this was done so their price would be lower than their competitors.

      Our records show that your original booking was to return in *********. However, when the vehicle was returned to *****, you were billed a one-way fee. This fee is assessed when a vehicle that was expected to be returned at one location is no longer available for us to provide for another renter who may not be able to have a vehicle provided as a result. To avoid similar fees in the future, we strongly advise to apply your intended travel destination in your reservation or to make changes with our automated system or **************** team if a ********************** is already in use. While this may not keep a fee or alternate rate from being applied for changes in use, you will have that information provided to you to avoid a fee you were not expecting.

      I will not even give one start for Avis. Our flight was cancelled due to Hurricane ******** so we decided to rent a car one way from the airport where we live to the ***************** destination. We were quoted a price and secured the rental with a credit card over the computer. Unknowing to me a virtual credit card number is assigned when booking over the computer (which I have never heard of) When bringing the confirmation to the associate she asked for the credit card in which the car had been paid for with. When given the credit card she said the numbers did not match. I assured her that was the card used and that is when she confirmed a virtual number was assigned for protection on the credit. She told me to cancel the rental and re rent the same vehicle of course going to the same destination. When I did this Avis representative gave me a price triple what the original price was. They would not honor the paid for rental after cancelling and trying to re book. I will never use Avis again.

      Ive just had the most unprofessional car rental experience in my life at the Avis car rental booth in *******************. The woman behind the counter was loud, rude and obnoxious. Each time I said no to the accident rider, which she insisted repeatedly that I needed it. She demanded to know what ***************** I have, and then proceeded to lecture me about what it wouldnt cover. Her desperation for the comission she makes off each unnecessary insurance policy she bullies people into buying was painfully obvious. By the time we got to the damage inspection form, she demanded I sign it without even seeing the car. She said if there was any damage bigger than a quarter I could come back in and note it on the form. I went out and there was a dent on the passenger side front door bigger than a quarter. I took a picture of it and went back and showed her and said I would like to note the damage. She refused, and said we typically dont note it if its small. I said its not small and I want it noted. She still refused to note it for me, so I reached for the form so I could write it myself.THAT CRAZY LUNATIC SNATCHED THE FORM OUT OF MY HAND LIKE A PETULANT TWO YEAR OLD AND REFUSED TO LET GO. ??At that point I realized there was some sort of psychological issue at play, so I started filming. All of a sudden she dropped the forms and became cooperative. She turned the papers toward me, dropped her voice to a normal tone, and said look Im writing it down. She deserves an academy award for that little stunt. She asked me to stop recording, which I did. I got what I needed, an Avis representative on film being abusive and refusing to write down damage that a customer reported and asked to note on the agreement form until she realized she was being filmed.If this is the type of behavior Avis condones on their front lines, its not a company anyone should do business with. There are three other car rental agencies at *******************. Use one of them.

      I rented a Budget car rental in the city of *****, I selected the compact group, they gave me a car that was burned by cigarettes and smelled of cigarettes, the car was not registered, they only gave me the contract but did not give me the registration, so I asked the attendant for a car that was registered and did not smell of cigarettes, they did not exchange the car and could not refund the money instantly, I had no option, indignantly I was forced to have a rented car without registration.

      The service at Avis goes up and comes down. In my experience, I usually get a good clean car that mechanically is sound. Its always full of gas. My local agent is fantastic in the *********************** location. Thats all of the good things that I have to say about Avis. The problems enter when they dont have cars available at any of their locations. You wait in a long line to find that out. Even if you reserve to go to a local office where there is no line they dont call ahead and tell you that your reservation is actually not a reservation because they dont have cars. Some of these other local agents sometimes the cars are not clean. And most distressing is the security hold that they place on your credit card which takes up to 14 days to release even after theyve placed the final charges on your credit card. I just found this out recently. I couldnt see why my available balance was not all available until I called ************************* to find out that Avis had such a hold on my card. I appreciate the financial system. Businesses hold your money to make investment money for themselves, but this has really gotten out of control. They are effectively using my money to make their money under the guise of administrative processes. This has got to end. It ends from me right now in that I am not renting from companies that place such security deposits on your card. Right now my go to National. They have some crazy policies at the *************** with holds on local rentals, but they dont do it out of town locations. Service is automated and they might go to at this time.

      Most rentals may require an authorization hold of the estimated rental charges plus up to $300.00; prepaid rentals will have a hold amount of $250.00. While this hold is in place, the funds will not be available for your use.  When the rental is over, we will process the reversal, but the bank may take time to post it back to the account.

      Upon the end of the rental, typically within 72 hours of check-in, Avis will automatically release any unbilled hold amount back to your account. Depending upon the policies of your financial institution, they may take additional time to make the funds once again available for your use.  ************************* will return your funds within 15 days after the transaction date.  However, some holds may last as long as 30 days, depending on the issuing bank's policy for travel-related transactions. 

      Unless a rental's charges meet or exceed the value of the hold, Avis doesn't actually receive the total amount of the funds in the hold. As a result, most banks and card providers do not show the return of the unused hold amount as a credit; it will simply be returned to your available balance.

      If no pending authorization holds remain, this typically indicates that the unused amount was already allocated back to your balance by your card provider. If you have a record of any unexpected completed or pending transactions, at your convenience, please reach out to us directly at ************************************************************** and provide screenshots of the transaction dates, amounts and transaction details for further review.

      I have been trying to resolve an issue with Avis since 06/19/24. Where I reserved a car online & when I went to pick it up, I was told there was no inventory & that they only had utility vans which did not fit my needs. I canceled the transaction & contacted the their customer service ***** whom advised me that I would not be penalized for their lack of inventory but the horrible Mgr on duty by the name of ****** ******** said that she put in the system for them not reimburse me. They did reverse part of the fee but short changed me on $34.54. I filed a claim with my cc ******************************** lied & said they gave me a credit and to this day I haven't received it. I am going to keep escalating this until this is resolved because this was your ********* am the one paying interest for it. This has been the worst experience I've ever had.

      We are sorry to hear of the difficulties you experienced at our **************************************************************** location as well as any misunderstanding on our part of having your prepayment refunded. We do confirm that from the cancellation, a charge of $34.54 was billed from your prepayment for the time that the rental contract was open. Unfortunately, as only the unused prepayment was flagged for our billing team, the $34.54 was not included in the initial refund. We have issued a refund for this amount on September 14th and a receipt of the transaction has been emailed to you for your records.
