1 starThis is absolutely the worst rental agency that Ive ever dealt with. The vehicle was not thoroughly cleaned out upon arrival so we had to wait for them to take it around back and spray the outside of it off. Which was the only visible thing done. The lady at the front desk seemingly had a trouble attitude the entire time. Oh and then we were told that the Malibu was the only vehicle available at the time after asking her about taking a nice Camry that was out there amongst plenty of other vehicles in the lot at the time. Lets see, it gets better.. Upon returning the car, I was charged an additional amount of money for fuel fees as they claimed that the amount of fuel was less than why it was prior to pickup which were lies! Then, a late fee was added to the book after that despite us returning the vehicle way ahead of the original drop off time. I had to call the head company at least 8-10 times within the time frame of us returning the vehicle to dispute 3-4 ridiculous charges that were charged to my credit card based on the bs these ppl added to my bill. One other dispute was for my Deposit that I was supposed to automatically receive back upon the return which they tried to keep due to the other excessive charges that they just placed on the bill for no reason. I would NEVER rent from this place again if its the only one thats close to me. Please Beware??Avis Rent A Car

1 starOur car became undrivable the last full day of family vacation with 4 adults a baby and 3 year old child. We waited 6 hrs for it to be towed to the Avis repair facility. Avis never offered to bring us a replacement, but I was told that I could get back to the airport in *************** to pick up a car. We declined as we were flying out the very next morning. Fast forward 3 days home, and I'm still getting text messages that our car was not returned. I've spend almost 5 hrs on the phone with customer service. When I inquired when I would be reimbursed for the 26 hours that the car was not iny possession, the answer was that the rental isn't closed until it is returned to the renting facility. **************** then confirmed to me that meant the rental was open while Avis was repairing their own car and nothing happens until it goes back to the renting facility. This car would not go into gear, every light on the dash was lit up, it would not start, I spend 6 hours waiting for it to be towed, but I have to wait until Avis finishes their repairs in a car they probably should not have rented out in the first place. ******** customer service in my estimation. ***** them.Avis Rent A Car

1 starOn Sept. 21st I rented a vehicke from Avis/Budget for a family trip to ******. On Sept. 23rd, the day we were returning home, we woke up to a flat tire on the front passenger tire. I attempted to air up the tire at a nearby 7/11 but the tire was to low to do so. We also looked for the spare tire but there wasn't one with the vehicle. I called Avis/Budget aboit the issue and was provided an **** to *********** to pick up a replacement vehicle which all went smoothly. I also called the towing company we were referred to to pick up the the other vehicle. This is where the problem started. When reaching out to the tow company, I was told that they would pick up the car by 10:45 am. The **** picked me up, took me to the airport, got the replacement and drove back to the 7/11, no tow truck. I called them back around 11:45 and was told that all of there tow trucks where stuck in bad weather on the highway but there wasn't any bad weathet. While waiting, we explained the situation to the workers at the store but they later came back to us stating that the store manager wanted us to move or he would call his own tow company to tow the vehicle. I reahed out to Avis/Budget to advise that there tow company has yet come and the store was prepared to call there own tow to move the vehicle. The representaive showed no concern and told us "if the owner gets the car towed before they do, I would be responsible for those charges." Why would I be responsible if I followed the instructions I was given and their tow company was given us the run around. Not to mention, we were not notified of any delays by the company. I was only informed after I callled them. After several more calls and excuses, the tow driver called at 1:51 pm and said he was 25 mins out. We finally left at 2:50 to head back. The car had to be returned by 6:00 pm when the store closed and I made it at 5:58. I waz unable to fill up the car and was thrn charged ****** for gas. This is unfair and I need to be reimbursed!Avis Rent A Car

1 starRental Agreement: two eight one one nine three seven eight zero Rental Location: ************************************* term: 9/14 - 9/21/24 Dropped off the 2024 ****** Tacoma at the ************** return lot @ 0715.Vehicle was fully fueled on 9/20/24 at the *********************** on ********, 2 miles from the return lot. No Avis employee was around to accept the return not even at the customer service desk Noticed an an option on the Avis app to return the vehicle myself and I did just that.When I arrived at my gate for the flight I checked my emails to find that I was charged $181.81 for some fuel service fee.Called customer service multiple times as well as emailing and they have refused to remove the fraudulent charge.Have been an Avis customer since 1999, with 18 of those years as a business member with *********************. Have rented all across the country and have never experienced an issue like ******* no time, with any rental return, have I ever returned a vehicle less than full of fuel. Not once.Avis refuses to allow me to even speak to anyone at the rental location Avis customer service is by far the worst in the industry. Until recently, I've never had to call customer service, as I never had any issues at any rental location in almost 25 years.Avis has made it impossible for me to resolve this issue. I can fully understand why there is a class action lawsuit against Avis for fraudulently charging customers for fuel that they in fact do not owe.If Avis is wiling to resolve the matter amicably, by reimbursing me the fraudulent charge of $181.81. I may use them for rental services again, but never at ****************************. , As I've told customer service, I have a witness that was at the gas station and at the Avis drop off return lot that is fully willing to testify if need be. 1 starIn order to get from ******** to *******, we rented a car at "rent a car Avis" .We rented it on September 16, 2024. in *************. At the time of the rental (September 16, 2024), Avis Rent a car told us that the rental amount would be around $95, and the debit card was charged with $95+250 because of the deposit. The deposit will be returned they said!On the day (September 18, 2024) when we returned the car, they charged the same card again for a similar amount in dollars. Also on the returning date we found out that the women working on pick up location put the wrong drop off hours.we reacted and contacted the company, they withdrew the first reservation of funds, but again on September 18, 2024. have charged the card for that amount.We received an invoice in the mail in the amount of $336.30, but still, we were charged $663. So they charged us twice the similar amount of the transaction. We called customer service again, where they told us that the deposit and the rest of the money would be returned within 1-2 business days. However, after 2 working days, the deposit and the excess money they took from us were not returned.We called again, but they hung up on us in the middle of the conversation without any explanation.We called again and were told that the amount will be returned within 5 to 7 days.Since then, no one has told us anything specific. The seventh day is coming to an end, and we are still more than $600 short on the card. Today we call Avis Rent a Car again and to my dismay that they owe me a deposit of 250 dollars, and maybe more, they just said that everything is fine from their side and that I should contact the bank in the Republic of Croatia to withdraw the payment.Guys, avoid this company and do not give them any credit/debit cards.If you are in the same situation as we are call the **************** or Embassy. After parking my personal vehicle on their property, while on a trip with one of their cars, my personal vehicle was towed, despite there being no visible signs indicating that parking was prohibited. As a frequent customer, I expected better communication about parking policies. The $410 tow bill was an unwelcome surprise, leading me to reconsider my loyalty to Avis. 1 starComplaint Against Avis - Towing Incident and ********************* I rented a **** Edge SUV from Avis on September 20, 2024, at ***************************, and was set to return it on September 22, 2024. During my trip to ***********, the car was towed due to parking restrictions. I immediately contacted the towing company and Avis, but their customer service was terrible. They refused to provide the necessary documents to retrieve the car and insisted on sending an authorized person instead.This has resulted in daily impound fees of $450, which I simply cannot afford. Aviss failure to resolve the situation in a timely manner left me stranded, forced to rent another car, and now I'm also being charged additional rental fees for the original vehicle.I deeply regret renting from Avis and find their policies and lack of customer support unacceptable. Renters are responsible for adherence to parking and traffic laws, and will be liable for impound recovery if the rental vehicle is towed for a violation. Regretfully, we cannot authorize a renter to recover the vehicle themselves nor provide documentation that allows a recovery. Our Impound Recovery team makes arrangements for recovery when a vehicle is impounded; once the vehicle has been recovered and physically received by an Avis location, the rental can be closed for billing and any impound accrual and recovery expense will be applied.

We already missed an important activity we had planned. 1 starAVIS service as the *********** operation is simply abysmal. Extremely unprofessional staff walking around with attitudes. Sorry to say that it was a shared experience with another traveler arriving at *** during this same period. Mirrored terrible experience upon rental pick up and drop-off. Very unprofessional for all renters including their so-called AVIS Preferred members. The first car I picked up required maintenance. Should not have been available to customers. The next car required me to go to their gas station to fill up with gas and soon after leaving the lot, it required windshield wiper fluid. I had to wait well over 1.5 hours to get a car that was safe in order to continue my journey resulting in significant delays in schedule. Upon return, the return attendant did not have the mobile machines to check in the car. With an attitude, tells customers to go check in at their customer service desks which resulted in long lines and an unpleasant customer experience when asked why they did have the necessary equipment to check people in. I have never seen this type of experience and display of poor attitude in all my year renting at AVIS. Rent Hertz or National!!Avis Rent A Car

1 starI had rented a car from Avis because my car was being repaired. I selected the PrePay option for the rental. The repairs to my car were finished ahead of time and I no longer needed to rent the car from Avis. I cancelled the reservation at least 14 hours before the scheduled reservation pick up time. Avis charged (or is keeping) $150 to cancel the reservation! $150 for a product/service that was not received. $150 is completely usurious.Avis Rent A Car
