    My car was dirty when I got it and it only had half a tank of gas when I got it. Then I when I returned it the deposit is being held for 4 weeks. That's insane to hold a deposit for 4 weeks. Everything says it will be released upon vehicle return then at the counter you sign something that says 4 weeks. I would never rent a vehicle and leave my money tied up for 4 weeks. This is robbery. Especially when all the pre documents you read while renting the vehicle say they'll release it it when you return your rental. Then all the initials you put on the actual agreement says 4 weeks. It's unethical and misleading to state one thing on so many documents then change it on the final agreement.

    When booking my rental online, I was not notified of Drive-O's policy of "penalty states" and "forbidden states". I have rented cars for many years from many different companies, and never encountered this rule. I was only notified of it when I went to pick up my car, at which time it was too late for me to figure out alternate plans with a different company. On my trip, I ended up having to book a hotel in Ohio, five minutes across the West Virginia line, because there were no rooms available in my destination state. As a result Drive-O has charged me an extra $210 penalty. This is ridiculous and extremely poor business practice. I will never rent with this company again and have encouraged friends and family to avoid it.
    In addition, the seats in the car I was given were dirty, and the cruise control had been disabled and was unusable.

    I absolutely do not recommend renting from this company. I reserved a full-size vehicle, but when I arrived at the counter, there were no vehicles available and several other customers were also waiting. After about an hour, a standard-size vehicle (not the full-size I reserved) was finally offered, with the explanation that my requested vehicle hadn’t been returned yet.

    The first vehicle I received was not properly cleaned and the engine made a concerning noise. I returned it and requested another, and suddenly a different vehicle became available. However, I had to wait an additional 30–45 minutes for them to clean it. The replacement vehicle still had dirt stains on the seats and was two years old—not the newer models that other rental companies typically provide.

    The entire process was frustrating, unprofessional, and disappointing. The only positive aspect was the employee at the counter, who remained polite and did his best to explain the situation despite dealing with many unhappy customers.

    I was very dissatisfied with the overall experience and will never rent from this company again.

    BEWARE: this is a “bait and switch” operation. I generally only give feedback when it’s positive, but the experience with Drivo/Ace Rent A Car was shocking. In essence, the price I had reserved the car at, SIX WEEKS prior to pickup, was very good; when I got to the agency to pick up the car, I’m suddenly told there’s ANOTHER charge that no one, although they knew my destination the entire time, had warned me of, something about different “zones” one can drive in and others where they’ll add an exorbitant fee. I made it clear before leaving I would protest this charge with my credit card company, which is now involved investigating the bait and switch. THEN, when I went to return the car, ALL of the streets surrounding the facility were closed off for road construction – this was something everyone in the neighborhood was aware of with signs, printed and electronic, posted for residents and local traffic. I had to call to Drive to them this and whoever I spoke to blatantly lied and said I’d been informed of this beforehand and ultimately I had to wait around for a half-hour at a gas station while someone from the rental agency drove over and led me back through backroads only a local would know to take. All in all, it took over 1.5 hours to return the car. THEN I received a very conciliatory call the next night from customer service – another half hour on the phone – who, after taking all of the information I’d provided, said he’d investigate and get back to me within four days; that was nine days ago. AVOID DRIVO/ACE RENT A CAR.

    The people at the counter (i.e. the entry-level employees with no power who take the brunt of customer rage) were both courteous and accommodating. The car itself was dinged up, and the gas tank half-full.
    The policies of this location are untenable. First they tried not to honor my reservation due to a superficial crack in my license (not across any photo or barcode); then the upcharges began. 15/day for travelling out of the "free zone," (i.e. I went to New Hampshire as in previous rentals but with arbitrary added costs). Then an attempt to charge me for a full tank of gas when the car was half-full at departure--I was told this would be adjusted, it was not. Scammy af. I would not recommend this location or company.

    Really awful company with so many hidden fees. We rent cars often and will use ANY other company before this one.

    FEEL TOTALLY RIPPED OFF! Booked on Priceline for $318 with taxes & fees. When arrived at the counter Thursday evening which is offsite from the airport, the price had ballooned to $590 PLUS a $200 deposit which would come back to me. I was offsite and needed the car,. so moved forward even agreeing to an additional $60 for a larger car. They had chosen for me an A-class micro car. This doesn't even address the additional fees & penalties for driving into Vermont, which I told them I would be doing. Coming home from my trip, I am seeing charges 'pending' against my credit card that total almost $900. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND DRIVO TO ANYONE!!

    I made a reservation with Drivo for a seven passenger van and I paid for a seven passenger van. My reservation was for noon, but I did not arrive until 3 o’clock. I confirmed the night before with Drivo by telephone that I would be there to pick up my reservation. There was no mention of a two hour window after which your reservation would be canceled. When I arrived at the rental office, I was told I would have to now pay an up charge because I was more than two hours past my reservation. There is nowhere in the policy that this is stated in fact on the website Drivo specifically says your reservation will be held till the end of the business day, I really believe I am entitled to a refund for this up charge. I asked for it to be waived and honored since I was never told about the two hour window, but the clerk refused, saying that it was in their policies. It is not in their policies. In fact the opposite is stated on their website.
