    They had us stranded with a car that broke down at the end of a night and did not attempt to help us. We had to call AAA for help (we paid out of pocket) and then they did not honor their word to exchange change the car. Triple A told us there was evidence the car had recent electrical issues and a force start was done in the car recently. Drivo gave us the wrong address 3 times (yes 3 different addresses were given), gave us the run around at midnight and it was closed by the time we found it. Their own staff is out of state and didn’t know where their office was and couldn’t give us proper directions. It was an absolute disaster with wasting 5 hours trying to get back to the hotel in a car that could turn off at any moment. It was bait and switch as we booked with ACE through Expedia and ended up with a reservation with Drivo and given a car that broke down on the first day we took it out.

    Wish I would have read the negative reviews first. They are correct. The price is great, however they do not disclose that paper insurance cards are not acceptable. You must have their QR code connect to your insurance policy or buy their insurance which is an additional $200. There was nowhere else to go if we had canceled on the spot as the location is far from the airport and other agencies. I would recommend not renting from here pay a little bit extra and go with the company that is well known..

    Awful! Don’t rent from them. They hold $500 for a deposit and you don’t get it for 4 weeks!!!! Insanity!!

    FEEL TOTALLY RIPPED OFF! Booked on Priceline for $318 with taxes & fees. When arrived at the counter Thursday evening which is offsite from the airport, the price had ballooned to $590 PLUS a $200 deposit which would come back to me. I was offsite and needed the car,. so moved forward even agreeing to an additional $60 for a larger car. They had chosen for me an A-class micro car. This doesn't even address the additional fees & penalties for driving into Vermont, which I told them I would be doing. Coming home from my trip, I am seeing charges 'pending' against my credit card that total almost $900. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND DRIVO TO ANYONE!!

    I made a reservation with Drivo for a seven passenger van and I paid for a seven passenger van. My reservation was for noon, but I did not arrive until 3 o’clock. I confirmed the night before with Drivo by telephone that I would be there to pick up my reservation. There was no mention of a two hour window after which your reservation would be canceled. When I arrived at the rental office, I was told I would have to now pay an up charge because I was more than two hours past my reservation. There is nowhere in the policy that this is stated in fact on the website Drivo specifically says your reservation will be held till the end of the business day, I really believe I am entitled to a refund for this up charge. I asked for it to be waived and honored since I was never told about the two hour window, but the clerk refused, saying that it was in their policies. It is not in their policies. In fact the opposite is stated on their website.

    All that you read here in other reviews is true—rent with Drivo, and you too will get the chance to pay too much money for terrible quality and service.

    My three-day standard-size rental from La Guardia, costing over $600 dollars, featured: an upsell; an insurance charge; a wait while someone did paint touch-ups on the bumpers and body; a car in need of an oil change and 2,400 miles past service; a drop-off fee when my return flight got changed to JFK; poor instructions and no one on site for an early morning drop-off; dismissive customer service (in person and by phone); and perhaps my favorite, the question whether I, from out of state, owned and had brought an EZ Pass for tolls (along with the notice that I would be charged $10 every time I incurred a toll and used Drivo's system). And that's not to mention the $200 deposit they're holding in addition to all the above.

    This company should be utterly ashamed of itself and its practices. I am waiting to see what other hidden fees I may be assessed, and I look forward to the dispute I will be making. Never again, avoid like hellfire.

    very bad company , charge me too much for insurance while i have my own insurance .
    charge late pickup fee.
    i never hear that ,
    charge me almost double prices for whole period ,,while i travel and stay Canada less than total period . absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!dont go there .
    they show you low price in advetisement ,
    then when you go ,
    they will grab your money.....!!!!!!!

    My experience was quick and easy. I got a good rate online for a car at the Dumbo Brooklyn location, and had zero wait when I went to pick the car up. James, the manager, was extremely helpful and we had no problems with the car. (Confirmation Number ACS17674626)

    153951C - We have been renting from Drivo for about a year or so. For the most part always a great experience. We had used Budget in downtown Brooklyn prior, but it is usually an awful experience. Drivo is always very professional. It is more expensive, and we have to pay for extra driver (spouse) which isn't the case at Budget, but it is worth it due to the better service.
