1 starI booked 1-800-PACKRAT for my cross-country move and was very clear from the start that I needed an exact final price for budgeting purposes. Im on a fixed income due to a service-connected disability, so sticking to the quoted price was crucial. I was quoted $3,600, which included my military veteran discount, insurance, and storage fees. I was told multiple times that this price would be my total cost, and that they beat PODS pricing.The driver picked up my container, and the deposit was charged without issue. But the very next day, I noticed a charge for $4,033 instead of the $3,600 I had been promised. Thats $433 more than the confirmed quote. This is what I would call Bait-and-Switch Pricing. Moving across the country is stressful enough, but being charged more than promised is just wrong, especially when Im on a fixed income and budgeting carefully.I regret not checking reviews beforehand. I trusted the word of their employee, but based on my experience, I would not recommend using 1-800-PACKRAT.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

1 starThis is the worst company to rent from! They tell you the biggest truck is 15 almost 16 ft, but they don't tell you, that is the size of the truck, but they don't tell you there is a gage inside the truck that is smaller and takes away about 3-4 ft all around from the sides, from. and back. This was very misleading and a lie! I did not have enough room. I had to rent a small storage. If I would have had the actual truck to pack my stuff in, all of it would have fit. If I would have known this then I wouldn't have rented from them. Spoke to a supervisor who listed to the call and said, the representative did not say that and had an oh well attitude! 1 starWe've been doing our move in three phases. The first two phases went okay. The third has been an unmitigated train wreck! We have 3 containers that are **** Apparently they're just sitting in a bad part of town, and in an unsecured parking lot. (we have trackers) The tracker hasn't moved for 2 days. We have no idea if the driver has ditched the trackers and is unloading our belongings somewhere else, or if the truck is even still there with our containers. There is nothing that makes sense, and nobody wants to get us answers. Nobody will even contact the driver to see what is going on! Has he been hijacked??Please know, there is absolutely no accountability to who they hand your belongings off to for transport. Once it's left their hands to a 3rd party, they don't care what their driver does. A DRIVER CAN, AND WILL, TAKE YOUR BELONGINGS WHEREVER THEY FEEL LIKE TAKING THEM AND IT'S PERFECTLY ALLOWED, EVEN TO THEIR OWN PERSONAL RESIDENCE! We spent close to 50k with 1800 Pack Rat for our across the country move, and this is the thanks we get for putting our trust in them. 1800 PACK RAT WILL NOT LIFT A FINGER TO HELP US! If they treat higher spending customers like this, I imagine it's at least the same or even worse for someone else with a smaller move.Aside from our containers failing to be delivered on time, we may never receive our belongings. If we don't, a lawsuit is coming! Please, for your own good, do NOT hire this company for your move, THEY DON'T CARE AT ALL ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS, AND WILL ONLY GIVE YOU THE RUNAROUND IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE! 1 starAwful!!!! We were scheduled to receive a container yesterday between 1 oclock and 7 oclock. My husband left work early to receive the container. They still had not shown up or called us by 3 oclock at which time my husband had to cancel his doctor appointment and he called Pack Rat to get an update. They said it is still scheduled to arrive sometime before 8 oclock, but they are open until 10 oclock. My husband missed family dinner because at 6:30 we were still waiting for the container. No one called to update us so my husband got on the phone again. Sat on hold for an hour before he got a representative who then told him that it should be here before 8:45. At 10:00 PM we still had no container, we went to bed. He called this morning to check on what happened. They said there was a problem and they rescheduled it for Monday, which of course will be too late for us so we canceled altogether terribly run business. There is a common courtesy of at least making a phone call to the customer to let them know what is going on but there was no communication. Awful run business. We would never use them again. 5 starsInitially, they worked with me on the price, beating a competitor's price by quite a bit. Delivered the pod on time, picked it up on time, and all the drivers were courteous and quick. They worked with me on rescheduling payments and when and where my pod would be delivered with no problems, even reversing a payment one time that I wasn't able to make at that moment. My pod was delivered (a few hours early) where it was supposed to be, in perfect condition, and picked up exactly when they said it would be. I had an overwhelmingly positive experience with this company, and with my personal experience, would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

Called customer service one time and the guy was super helpful and provided me with the information I was needing and then some. 1 star1 word..HORRIBLE!! sums up my whole experience with this company. They deserve negative stars. 5 days later still no pod, no phone calls, then they drop off an empty one in my driveway,not even mine with all of my household contents.They may say they beat the competition but at what cost to the consumer, their sanity and all their personal belongings. 2 starsTLDR: Pack Rat has rescheduled my move due to their incompetence 4 times. My stuff still hasn't been delivered. They've wrongly moved my stuff once and now won't move it at all when I need it. I knew they had bad reviews and they have a reputation for not delivering on time, but I was hoping it wouldn't happen to me. I regret using their service so much and I wish I could go back and never work with them.Full Story:So for context, I've had my stuff stored in a Pack Rat container since October of 2024. Everything has been fairly good up until the time I actually needed them to move my stuff. But the past two weeks have been a disaster and they're incapable of doing the job their entire business is built to do. The first issue was in March of 2025, when I needed to access my container that should've been in **************, but they shipped it incorrectly to ********** and they had to ship it back. But I got access to it in time and they didn't charge me. Overall a minor inconvenience. Now that I've actually moved across the country to ************, I think they're keeping my stuff held hostage. Only July 9th I tried to schedule my stuff to be delivered on July 23rd. They had issues that took 3 days of called them back, but it got scheduled.I call them about a different thing on July 19th and they mention they never scheduled a driver, so it can't be delivered until the 25th, two days later. Not great, but whatever. On the 21st, they call me to confirm delivery for the 26th, a day later than they moved it back already. Now this is bad because it's the last possible day I have free before starting my new job. I asked them why, they said they didn't schedule a driver. So their fault 100%.They call me back tonight, the 25th, to tell me it's still in ************** and can't be delivered now until the 29th. I asked them why, they said they don't know. 1 starA $2,000 Disaster Avoid at All Costs Review:If I could give negative stars, I would. My experience with Zippy Shell / 1-800-Pack-Rat was nothing short of a nightmare. At every single stage of this move, they dropped the ball and not just fumbled it, threw it off a cliff and lit it on fire.Initial drop-off? Late.Pick-up? *************? Also late.Container? Arrived jammed shut and unusable.Customer service? A total black hole zero accountability, hours of hold time, and lots of empty promises.I was told Id receive a refund in 35 business days. Its now day 6, and shocker it was never even processed. Had I not called again and wasted 4 hours of my time waiting for calls back from the automated system and being transferred again, and again, and again, they wouldnt have done a thing. This isn't just an inconvenience; its borderline theft of my time, money, and peace of mind.I spent over $2,000 for what turned into one of the most stressful, disorganized, and unprofessional experiences Ive ever had with a company. At this point, I believe Im owed far more than a basic refund I deserve compensation for the countless hours and energy this move has cost me due to their utter *************** yourself a favor and stay far, far away. 1 starI am a legitimate homeowner that has contacted this company several times regarding an abandoned POD container in my driveway. I have a lot of work to be completed on the inside and outside of my home and NO RESPONSE from Pack Rat! You mean to tell me that I cannot do what I want to do with my home because they won't move an abandoned POD? I am highly disappointed in their poor customer service. I am also seeking legal representation on this matter for it's been over 10 days that this ABANDONED POD is in MY driveway.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC
