This company continues to take my money and not collect my trash. The trash been skipped two weeks stating the trash can not outside. I was advised to upload proof the trash was at road 03/30/2023. I proof the phone and I was told I would receive call back 3/31/2023 I was told it too close to the fire hydrant after I uploaded the pictures from 03-24-2023. I never move the trash can. Our town used GFL for our garbage service, whcih we pay for out of our property taxes yearly. The town decided to switch services for whatever reason and our service with gfl was set to end on December 31/ January 1st 2023 before switching to the new company.GFL did not empty my recycling bins at the end of December before our service ended, and then never came and picked up the bins. I have called them several times as well as contacting the town hall. The town hall said gfl is even refusing to fix these issues for them and other people that live here, and GFL told me too bad that it's my problem now. This is a service that was already paid for and was never completed. I want the bins dumped and removed from my property. I am 35 weeks pregnant so I cannot simply load them up and take them somewhere.Business Response

Dear BBB,
Thank you so much for forwarding this customers email along to us. After review I have no record of this customer contacting GFL regarding this concern or letting us know that containers where still on site. We have worked closely with the township to ensure that all containers were removed and that customers where informed when to place their containers out for removal. The township had multiple months to inform their residents of the company service change. We had our staff remove all containers on January 24th. We are no longer providing service in this area and will not be removing this container.

I am rejecting this response because:I called them several times from my cell phone, ************, and the town clerk agreed with me that they are not doing their job. My bins have been by the side of the road since January 1st waiting to be removed and they are still there. When I called last the girl I spoke with told me "too bad that's not our problem anymore".

I signed a contract with GFL for trash pick up services. I received an invoice, made a payment only to realize that they were charging me a month and half for services not surrounded. Once I called, they kept giving me the run around about the credit that I was supposed to received into my account. After many calls and very unprofessional services, they partially credit my account. Once again I contacted them, only to be told that they themself were confused on how their system works and that the account will have to contact someone else to explain how to apply the credit to my account, after the credit was apply in a way that did not make much sense to me, I called many more times to have that fix. Once they applied the refund, it was still not clear to me why the account was still with an outstanding balance so I told them that I will not make any payments until the credits were apply in the correct way, they decided not to service my place any more, now they want me to pay $778.00 on top of the previous payment of ****** for only 3 months of services. Which is still not clear to me where all of that payment are going to applied to. Due to them breaching the contract by not providing me the trash collection services that they are supposed to and in addition to all of the above I decided to let them know that I am canceling the services. However, they had threat me with collection, lawyer, and court in addition to monetary penalties if I go that route. They way the do business is very sketchy and I would prefer to have the contract cancel and not do business with them any longer.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I have requested not direct contact from the company. However, I got a call from **** (supervisor) on 4/10/23 at 3:14 pm stating that he was returning my call to go over the invoices once again. I responded by sending them an email explaining that they need to respond to the BBB with the explanation as to why they stopped servicing the business.
If I have been open since December 16th, 2023 and made a payment of $834.63 in January. how is it possible that I owed them $778.00 in addition of the $834.63 when they only charge that was supposed to be deducted from that payment was the $200.00 which is the delivery fee. leaving the account with a credit of $634.63. So from there, they should have charge the monthly charge which is $317.00 from December 16th to January 13th. and then another $317.00 from January 13th, to February 14, but instead they had the account with a negative balance of $143.43 so I questioned them about it and instead of being able to clarify that, they started crediting the account just to take the credit back and asking me to pay them another $778.00 on top of the $834.63. When they were not able to clarify the account I did not make anymore payments and they decided to stopped the trash pick up service. In consequence to that I am requesting to have the contract cancel and not to have them contact me anymore.

I was not going to make any payment, but instead they decided to stop their trash pick up service.

I am wanting to cancel my agreement for waste management services with GFL immediately. I cannot get through to a customer service operator. I am placed on hold for hours at a time. I paid my November 2022 invoice for $82.77 on the due date, November 21, with my PayPal debit card. GFL charged the card not once, but twice...so I was out $165.54 for an $82.77 invoice. I disputed only the second charge only with PayPal. On November 24, they provisionally credited my account with $82.77, pending the outcome of their contact with GFL. On November 29, GFL agreed to refund the second charge, and PayPal made the provisional credit permanent. However since that time, GFL claims I never paid that November invoice at all, so my account shows $82.77 in arrears. I've been in touch with them repeatedly by phone, email, and certified mail since February 10, 2023, providing my PayPal statement showing the transactions and pressing them to remove the arrears from my account. I have been trying to cancel my service, 4 yard commercial dumpster, for my business since October of 2022. I have called several times, my sales rep is not returning my calls and no supervisor is returning my calls. GFL has not picked up since January of this year and are still charging me. When I did speak to a customer rep they told me I automatically renewed on 1/22/2023 for a two year agreement. The garbage is rotting away in the dumpster and after dozens of calls I cannot find any resolution to this problem. **************** reps are friendly, but every calls feels like a waste of time since the problem or concern is never addressed.Business Response

I am a Lead housekeeper at ***** care, ****** I called GFL over 6 times from different phone numbers each time the representatives hung up on me. But when I first called and said that are garbage compactor is full they said ok. Then we called again and they said they were having phone issues but that was not the case. Very rude and just saw the thedacare number pop up on there caller ID and hang up on the supervisor and lead housekeeper. We all have to call GFL every week when it is full this is not ok for a hospital running 24/7 hours and it needs to be addressed. I am looking for GFL to take accountability and be able to empty are trash without having to call 3-4 times a week.Business Response

On 9/6/2022, I made a quarterly payment in advance ($134.33) to GFL Environmental for Back-door garbage pick-up service. The local branch is GFL Environmental, *******************************************************************. This was a service that was not provided by the Concord *************** and we paid an extra quarterly fee to GFL. Our monthly HOA fees cover only street pickup.Shortly after my payment, we were informed by GFL that they would no longer be providing back-door service. I contacted them to request a refund.Since then, I have contacted their office several times over the past 7 months and been given various excuses or explanations. "It is in process; wait for credit to appear on your statement next month" was the most common. The last response I got was that it was waiting for the GM''s approval.I would like to receive my refund!The billing account was in my husband's name, which is different than my name. Absolutely terrible service, and after several missed pickups, we are changing trash collectors. GFI claims we owe ***** for "bin pickup and refurbishing" We have no signed contract with GFI it's a made up charge, and I want it rescinded, them to come get their broken bin (we called several times to get it replaced, every time they said they would, but never did). I'll do everything in my power to get all the people on my street to change providers, as well as telling everyone what poor customer service you provide. Yesterday I came home and my trash can was gone, I emailed GFL and they respond back the following:We received your online request; it shows that the services were cancelled back in January due to payment that was past due. It was still on schedule for the container to be removed. We have scheduled for the container to be delivered. If you have not received your container by your service day, you may leave up to 10 30gl trash bags at the curb and they will service those bags until the container is delivered. There is a $46.50 delivery fee that will be billed. If you have any questions, please give us a call at ************. It was explained to me even though I paid the bill, it did not remove my can from the removal list and I asked why not, I went online and paid the bill. The young lady told me, they have no way of knowing the people who paid the bill if they are on the removal list or not. So my can was taken from a past due bill from December 2022, on March 23, 2023, that was paid in January 2023. Make it make sense, and because their system is not set up to alert them when a bill has been paid and updated, that customer trash can still gets taken and they demand the customer to pay a ***** delivery fee. Unacceptable! This is a corrupt business practice GFL has going on and they are making money off customers because they have a flaw in their system and I don't care how much they try to explain, it's not logical at all.Business Response
