I called to cancel our trash service. They told me I had to talk salesrep. i spoke-(*******************) and he informed me that we had signed a contract in 2023. In March of 2023, my Ace Hardware business contracted with GFL to provide garbage and cardboard removal. From the very beginning of the relationship, we struggled to get our cardboard bin emptied weekly as per the contract. This however did not stop GFL from charging us for the service. In 2024 after repeatedly requesting dumps, and not getting them, we reached out to Ace Hardware corporate for help. Upon review, we learned that not only had GFL not been dumping our cardboard regularly, they had also been overcharging us by approximately $109/ month as our contract called for no fuel surcharge, which they charged repeatedly totalling aprox $1,200 of overcharges in addition to all the charges for a service not provided We have countless emails and phone calls trying to get them to dump our bins, with many pictures showing the lack of dumped bins and our overflowing cardboard pile up. GFL was primarily non responsive until we told them that we were pulling our account, at which point the sales manager came out and promised us a revised quote a few days later and promised that our cardboard would be emptied. Time passed and no revision was received and the cardboard was not emptied. We terminated our contract and are not paying the remaining outstanding amounts that GFL is trying to collect from us because they are much less than the amounts they overcharged us for fuel surcharge. Additionally it has taken almost 2 months to catch up on dumping the backlog of cardboard left by GFL because of their continuous lack of pickups. We have countless emails detailing the situation with NO RESPONSES from GFL. Today we received a letter saying they sent the outstanding amount of $1,144.69 to a collection agent. We would like your assistance in resolving the matter of unbelievable poor service, a total failure in fulfilling thier contract, and gross overcharging.Business Response

i signed up for service at $72 a quarter they billed for over 221, and i incurred interest because my bank pulled money out of a line of credit at 9% interest to cover the charge. I was also not able to do anything because they basically emptied out my account. I have asked several times for a refund and despite the fact that the money left my account they keep telling me they cannot do anything till they get the money, well the money left my account sunday and they are telling me they have no received anything? that is crazy it was a checking account/debit card and they should of gotten the money immediately. I am having to borrow money food and gas because my account is basically empty. Basically instead of charging me once they charged me 3 times.they also owe me the interest I will be chargedBusiness Response

On June 3, 2024, I called to enlist the services of GFL Environmental at *********************************. *******, ** *****. After two weeks of no trash service, I called the support line and spoke to **************** at ************. I voiced my concerns about my trash being missed on a road that was already serviced, she politely scheduled a missed pick up. They did not come. After the third week of missed service I called twice that week explaining my trash was beginning to overflow, she credited my account for $58.61 toward my next billing cycle and scheduled a missed pick. They still did not come. Now we are in week four again with no service where I asked for a manager to call me, July 8, 2024. At this point, no response, No trash pick up. Week 5, Calling back again on July 10, 2024, I still did not receive a call and requested once again for a manager due to my trash still at the curb. I received one call from the manager, ****************, while at work leaving his number and returned the call promptly after my shift at the hospital on July 17, 2024. I still have not been able make contact with this manager. I have called over 16 times in past six weeks, sent one online correspondence July 15, 2024, and called the **************** in *******, ** , July 19, 2024 and have not seen any results. I will be dropping my trash off at the County Dump myself and expect a complete refund regardless of canceled services. My next step is civil court and will be suing for court-costs with refunded services. This company is in the nameTRASH!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I was called and asked to call back, I have called the manager back several tines and left messages but he hasn't called me back. This entire process with this company is an embarrassment. I want to know why I was paying for a service and did not receive it for 6+ weeks, after calling for the missed pickups. Please enlighten me why the job wasn't done. Since I paid separately to take the trash to the dump myself, I want confirmation that I am getting my full refund back, and I will gladly never return for their business.

We discontinued service on June 24, 2024 at the ****************** address above. Trash cans have still not been picked up. I have called many many times and have been told they were scheduled to be picked up that day only to find them still at the end of my driveway the next morning. I have been told different things about when to leave the cans out by 3 different people so there is no consistency in directions to customers. I am a 30 plus year customer. Neighbors are complaining about cans being left out indefinitely. Very frustrated. I need these cans picked up.Business Response

GFL is not picking up my trash weekly on the same day. I have not had a pickup in 2 weeks. I understand there was a holiday, but if Im paying for weekly trash pickup, I expect it to be picked up weekly or a credit given.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:We (including my neighbors) have not received any formal communication from GFL or Priority that a provider change has happened. Again, we have not had a trash pickup in over two weeks. The bill I paid says GFL on it so I expect this to be resolved by GFL. I would like GFL to tell me when my trash will be picked up, regardless of who is doing it.

After the City of ******* stopped being the intermediary between waste management and residents, my account for trash pickup was switched to Green for Life. I am billed directly for the company's services. I noticed I was being charged an additional $30 for recycling each month, and called to cancel this service on June 19, 2024. I was told by the customer service agent I spoke to to put my recycling receptacle at the curb and it would be picked up by a third party. I placed it at the curb immediately. When it was not removed after a full 7 days, I called again and spoke to another customer service rep who told me the third party would not pick the receptacle up until after June 30, so put it out after June 30, which I did. I called back after a week and spoke to a third customer service rep who told me the third party had up to two weeks to pick up the receptacle, and to place it anywhere it could be seen from the road, e.g., beside the garage. She said it did not have to be at the curb. So, I placed the receptacle at the only place available where it would fit and still be visible, which was in front of the house next to the garage. After two weeks, the receptacle is still here, so I called a fourth time and spoke to a very rude agent who said there is "no guarantee" about when the receptacle would be picked up. I asked for a time frame, and asked does that mean a year, or what? She rudely replied, "That was dramatic!" I called back and asked for a supervisor. None has called yet.Business Response
