I have accepted the first settlement. 3 months reimbursement for both my contracts. I emailed as it stated. Nothing has been said back. This is ridiculous. I have been paying since 2021 for my Honda CRV and 2022 for the Dodge Ram both gold power train. They wanted a tear down because of fuel in a cylinders and they didn’t know the cause. I requested 3 times the inspection report because it is my vehicle and I pay the warranty. I was told no. The sad part is, the repair facility has cameras with audio and everything the inspector did and said is recorded. I really can go after CarShield and *** but I decided to be done and accept the reimbursement of the last 3 months for both contracts. They can’t even respond. Seriously I have forked over nearly $5,000 for warranties and $1,500 in labor costs and the engine is covered and I have proof of what the inspector said. And the phone call with the adjuster and repair shop was disconnected because she lied twice about what the contract says. Seriously this is not ethical how you handle things.Business Response

Out of the 8 pages there were three items that included electical items and I called Car Shield to voice my complaints and the dissolution all items even though I had the Platinum Plus policy coverages. My mechanic at JT’s Chrysler in Columbia, SC. talked with the Company Representatives who announced that the $1500 repairs would not be considered. Several dealers in this city agreed that they had several customers complaining about the same complaints where the used celebrities advertisements but failed to give the required services after purchasing their relevant policies. They are emphatically issuing lies and should have their licenses revoked.Business Response

I had originally reached out in regards to my vehicle which is cover by car shield and ******** **** ******. I had spoke with an service advisor at dealership who had stated that the vehicle needed a new turbo which made my dpf fail. I had called and spoke with a representative about the dpf to see about coverage i was told by a representative that that portion would not be covered but was told my turbo would be covered. i was told it would be a 3 day wait . It has now been about 3 weeks and now Im being told that the coverage was soley based on the the dpf when the dealership had told them my turbo failed which made my dpf fail. My car has been at a stand still because of this. And i have been dealing with rude representatives and supervisor who steadily is making up lies. And hung up on me when I explained my frustrations and what a previous rep had explained to me about how someone messed up my claim. I'm not understanding how two entity's that are conjoined as one can cause so much chaos and have no clue what is going on. I was just on a call with a supervisor around 12:15 who lied to me and me when I asked for empolyee id and name she hung up on me. This contract is not holding up to what I paid for nor for what is supposed to be covered which is the turboBusiness Response

I canceled my account with this company in November 2022 after my vehicle was totaled in an accident. I canceled the account and removed the vehicle from the online account info linked to them. They have still been charging me $109.00 a month. They refuse to reimburse because they coincidentally cant find the call log from when I called. Thats 7 months still paying $109.00 each month.Business Response

I have had a Car Shield policy for almost 2 1/2 years and pay $80 a month for it. I recently had to bring my van to a repair shop around May 12the 2023 due to it overheating. We brought it in quickly so the problem could be evaluated and fixed before more damage occurred. The shop I chose was approved by Car Shield. The policy is vague about many areas. I this case, it claims to cover the cooling system and does mention 3 of the components but not all of the "system". It also lists coverage for electrical parts. The fan motor went out which is not a usual "wear out" issue./ Part of the problem was due to an electrical component . Car Shield is refusing to pay for the repair because it is not the radiator but a different part of the system. I believe that this is a SCAM because they said it only covers certain parts and now claim that they only cover what is specifically listed. I did not get any information that coverage has to have every tiny part of the automobile listed in order for it to be insured. As I said that vagueness is intentionally misleading and deceptive so they can refuse to pay for necessary repairs of most of the working areas of any automobile. If it were not so they would be clear about their practice when selling the policies. Also, by refusing to pay for something that has to be fixed I was forced to pay for it now which they will likely use as an excuse because it was done without "prior approval". People, do not believe the ads because they do not help when needed.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I read Car Shield's response. Page 3 of my contract outlines the supposed coverage and Section B pages 3 of 15 shows that the electric system and cooling system are in theory covered though not every part in the system is listed as that would be an enormous amount of text. The parts they say are not covered are stated as being covered. They don't even seem to read their own contract. just do not trust them and so I do want to cancel my contract with them

We purchased CarShield for our 2015 Chevy Tahoe on 4/15/2023. During our initial call we were told that we had to wait “30 days OR 1,000 miles” our vehicle broke down on us on 5/18/2023 we took it to the dealership for review/repairs because we were told “30 days OR 1,000 miles”. We are about to get billed approximately $600+ for the inspection alone, CarShields requested for the dealership to submit photos why would they do this if they were going to deny us? We now learned the transmission needs to be replaced at this time we also learned our claim has been denied. The reason for denial is we have to wait “30 days AND 1,000 miles” all along we were told it was one or the other. I have spent all morning making calls and multiple departments. I’m also in legal and compliance and have asked to have the calls reviewed, but were unable to get a straight answer, they did however state that the waiting period was reiterated by email to this date we have not received the contract which I’m sure will referenced in a response here. The deception is real, this feels fraudulent not sure how we can trust an insurance service of this type. We wholeheartedly want what’s only right and fair. If they can listen to the calls and make things right it would be appreciated, if I’m wrong the very least they can do is pay for what the dealership has done thus far, they were not able to accept symptoms and asked for photographs when all along they could have told the service manager this would not be covered.Business Response

* Date of Transaction 04/10/2023
* Contract # ********** * I was sold an extended auto warranty from Carshield and my Contract clearly states that if a breakdown is caused by a moving, lubricated part then the breakdown is covered for repair, and I believe the piston is a lubricated/moving component. I contacted Carshield on 05/08/2023 because my cars engine light had came on and when I check the trouble code with a car code reader it said cylinder 4 misfire. Carshield located the repair facility and had a tow truck company come pick up my car and deliever it to Medina, TN./Repair facility. The Shop has submitted everything in which they found but carshield will not move further Carshield tells me the shop has to send them the reason that caused the breakdown, and the shop told me personally as well as emailed Carshield that there wasn't anything inside of the engine that caused the #4 piston to have a hole in it, that it just happend. My contract also say that if my car is going to take longer than 4 hours to fix that they would pay for a rental up to $140/day. Well my car has been in the shop for almost 3 weeks and I'm having trouble get to and from work everyday. I asked Carshield about a rental and they said once the shop completed 4 hours of labor that's when I was eligible for a rental. Well the shop has taken the "head" off of my car and told me it was a 10 hour job. I'm only asking to enforce the contract that Carshield and I agreed upon, since it is an actual contract isn't this enforceable?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I just hope they don't retaliate against me for contact the BBB for assistance.Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Per ***, your claim has not been authorized due to no verification of failure from your repair facility. Inspection is currently sent to verify failure prior to making claim decision. The inspection will be used for verification as the photos sent by your repair facility were unclear to show a covered failure. There is carbon shown in photo on top of piston which is an exclusion to coverage. Carfax report shows no recent maintenance or repairs performed since 2020. I am rejecting this response because:
First and foremost I am not the one that located the repair facility in the first place, Carshield is the one responsible. I spoke with the repair facility today 05/31/2023 and he told me that ******** **** ******/ Carshield told him that I would have to approve for them to take the piston that has a hole in it out. Which is unmistakably the reason for my cars breakdown. Yet you told the BBB that the shop hasn't provided you with reason for the breakdown. I do believe you sent your own inspector to the repair facility to check it out for yourself. And you are now telling the shop I would have to authorize more work when it is your responsibility to do so not mine. All I will say and I'm not threatening you but I have all my service records as well as the contract between Carshield and I, so I'll see you in court ******. I had had Carshields service for a little over a year, in August of 22 my car broke down and I called them to come pick my car up , it was first towed to my home, and the following day I called back to get the name of a mechanic that I could take my car to. The second name that I was given ******** **** is the one I ended up taking my car to. Trusting that this company had my best interest in mind. Once my car was there one of the first thing that the owner said was 'I always have trouble with the carshields'. I should have headed his warning, for the next 8 and 1/2 months I was given the run around between Carshield and the auto shop. Both claiming that neither could get in touch with the other. I was caught in the waddle of a no win situation. My contract stated that I would get a rental car, but then I was told that couldn't get a car until they had arthurized the work order. So I ended up borrowing my father's car. For the whole time that I was without one. Take in mind that I was still paying for their services on time each month. On May 13TH I was finally able to go get my car, and had to pay an additional 300$ for what the mechanic said Carshield did not cover. And then my air conditioning somehow stopped working, and he is charging me another 125$ for that. I feel like I have been raked across the coals, all I truly want is a refund of my payments from August seeing that they didn't do what they promised and that was to take care of ME.Business Response
