I purchased a car warranty contract with carshield in March 2022. I filed a claim in October 2022, which I am unable to locate a repair shop willing to accept the warranty. Repair shop owners are claiming they are having difficulty receiving payment. When I contact carshield they claim the owners are lying and encourage me to continue to look. So, carshield emailed a list of their network repair contractors. I contacted at least 4 additional repair shops from that list and again received the same statement "unwilling to accept" the warranty coverage. They don't pay the claims. Again, I contacted carshield for assistance. They continue to give me the run around and I faithfully pay my monthly premium. It's now going on 7 months since I filed the claim. After repeated phone calls for assistance, I am now being told if I cancel the contract they are not paying for my claim from October 2022, but they want me to continue to pay for a premium I have not received assistance with a claim. Carshield is practicing fraudulent deceptive services to consumers. They are aware repair shops are not willing to accept their warranty contracts and for this they are defrauding consumers.
I also contacted a ********* dealership as a last effort as carshield representative ensured me all car dealerships accepts the warranty. The service manager at the ********* dealership repeated the same reason for not accepting the warranty coverage and told me I could pay out of pocket and try to get reimbursed from carshield.
Carshield is a horrible company for deceiving consumers and I have paided over 1,300.00 in premium payments!Business Response

I called a month ago to cancel my plan with Car Shield and I was ignored when I kept saying that we could not afford it anymore and was pressured into keeping the plan for a lower rate which I still said that we couldnt afford. I called back later and they say that they have no record of me calling back to again cancel the plan after talking with my husband. They then took the payment out of our account after we said NO again and put us in the negative with our bank. When I called to find out why, get it refunded and make sure that the plan was cancelled. They refused to refund the money but they finally cancelled the plan we had had.Business Response

We paid $169 per month for months Carshield to cover my Land Rover . Two weeks ago my suspension system needed to be replaced; the auto dealer contacted CARSHIELD to settle the parts needed and receive the okay to fix the problem. CARSHIELD claims rep told the dealer none of the parts were covered in our contract. Before we signed the contract we looked at everything that was covered and that was. We ended up paying over $4000 out of pocket!!! The purpose of getting CARSHIELD was to help with repairs as needed! False advertising!! Very very disappointed!!!Business Response

CarShield- I’ve been payment for this warranty for the past 3 months and this company is a fraude!!!! Advertised that cover engine and when I submitted a claim, my claim was denied saying valves are not covered under my contract, when valves are part of the engine. How is possible that won’t cover parts of an engine. I filed a dispute and they came up with another excuse to don’t pay for it. They will find the minimum detail to don’t pay for your claim. They will advertise on TV that they cover for engine, transmission, axles and water pumps. They said it was denied cause they didn’t consider the damage valve a mechanical breakdown. It’s time to STOP this type of fraudulent companies!!!!’Business Response

I renewed my coverage with carshield in December of 2022 they asked me my milage I said 115421 and they entered it as 119421 by mistake. Last week my transmission went out on my car with a repair bill of 5500 and they are denying my claim. My current milage is 119464 and they say I haven't driven far enough to qualify for coverage. My only proof of the milage in December is my oil change receipt from valvoline which was entered wrong the technician put an erroneous 6 at the end making it look like I had over 1 million miles on my car, 1141196 instead of 114119. I have no other proof of milage in December and sk they have denied my claim. I am a single woman with no resources, no money and I am in danger of losing my job as I have no car.Business Response

I purchased a Car Shield Warranty in August of 2022. In February of 2023 I noticed that my car started to shift hard. I took my vehicle to a repair facility and it was determined that a shift solenoid had failed and was the cause of the rough shifting. The repair facility started the claim process with Car Shield, after a couple weeks of getting nothing from Car Shield I called them, they stated that the repair facility had not provided the required photos to proceed with the claim. I talked with the repair facility, they stated that they had attempted to work with Car Shield and wasn't getting anywhere with them, my repair facility refused to work with Car Shield any longer. Over the next few weeks I obtained all the requested photos and submitted them for the adjuster to review, I was never contacted by anyone from Car Shield. I contacted them almost daily for over a month and they kept coming up with different things that were missing even after multiple customer service representatives told me that all the items needed had been received. On March 14 2023 I called Car Shield and they stated that the claim was denied due to them not photos and different documentation that was never requested. I am seeking a refund on my policy due to the one claim process taking over two months with the single claim being denied.Business Response

I purchase a contract with Car Shield for extended coverage on my 2014 Mazda CX-9. Two months after I purchased the policy my water pump broke which is covered on the contract. I filed the claim in Feb 2023 and provided all my service records and the dealership where I took the vehicle in for repairs provided the estimate for repairs and all other information Car Shield requested. It took six weeks before Car Shield decided to send an adjuster out to look at my vehicle and determined the damage was not something I could have foreseen and I did the correct thing by not driving it anymore to cause any further damage. I was told it would take another 24 business hours to get a decision. After waiting 3 business days, I still did not receive an answer and was told my case would be escalated and should get an answer in another 24 business hours. After another 3 days, I called back again and still no resolution and they said it would be escalated again. In summary, it has been nine (9) weeks and still no resolution and no rental vehicle and I have been without my vehicle for nine weeks and counting.Business Response

The customer has been a ********************** client for over a year, and they have completed all the required maintenance in the contract and followed the manufacturer's recommendations. The customer took their car to one of the maintenance facilities in Carshield's network after experiencing engine failure, but their claim was denied. Despite a certified ASE technician's confirmation that the engine head, not the spark-plug, was the root cause of the problem, Carshield refused to honor the claim. Furthermore, when the customer requested a written copy of the claim decision, Carshield denied it and only provided a verbal notification in accordance with their policy.Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service contract, ******************** (AAS) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Per AAS, your claim was opened for cylinder head failure. Your chosen repair facility reported the spark plug came out of the head and damaged the cylinder head in the process. Your claim was denied because spark plugs are not listed for coverage under your contract terms. The cylinder head is also only listed for coverage if damaged by an internally lubricated component. The spark plug is neither lubricated or internal. A list covered components can be found in Section B of your contract.

Took out warranty on 4/12/2023 and was charged $139.99. I told CarShield I was going to call Ox and if I got a better deal i would call and cancel. I was told okay no problem we will give you a refund of the $139.99. When I called back and told CarShield I received a better price they dropped my price to $79.99 per month and would give me a refund of $60.00 The girl said she would send me new email with the new price of $79.99. She didn't! It was the same price of $139.99. so I called them the next day as they had already closed. I call 4/13/2023 and the woman I talked to said that they will not refund the $60.00 difference in payment for the first month as I already agreed to it. She said they can keep the extra money and that they do it all the time. I explained to her that I was told I will receive a refund of the extra $60.00. She said no you won't get it back. So I canceled the whole warranty and is suppose to get back $139.99 This car warranty company should be put out of business. Now I have to wait and hope I get my money ($139.99) back.Business Response
