I took my Ford Escape to Hillbish Ford and was told my engine needed replaced. I gave them my CarShield info which is contract# ********** and I have had this for 5 years never used it and CarShield does NOT want to pay anything saying lack of maintenance which we have proof of any and all maintenance service advisor called again and got denied. I called CarShield and they tell me they are waiting on the dealer to send pictures of the how much carbon is in the engine which every car has some carbon. Dealership states they have sent over all testing twice. I call CarShield 8/24 and ask for policy in an email and they said no everything is verbal in regards to a refund. They state it's a month to month contract so we can only refund you a month. That will not work for me and we will be contacting a lawyer if not ******** ******* because this company totally scams people for their money I want a full refund since this contract does me no good to have and I have never used after all the monthly payments

    Thank
you for bringing this to our attention.

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service
    contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator
of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures,
approvals, denials and payments.  We have contacted them to obtain
information on the repair claim you have referenced. Per ***, your claim  was opened for engine failure as it was initially reported due to head gasket breech.  Your chosen repair facility then advised that oil is entering the combustion chamber and no coolant. An inspection showed that the number 2 sparkplug is oil soaked and heavily fouled.  Your repair facility reported that they replaced the spark plug and it immediately fouled again.  Your repair facility believes carbon is present but doesn't think the claim should be denied for that. Carbon is specifically listed as excluded from coverage in Section D of your contract. *** has advised both you and your repair facility that *** needs simple borescope photos showing the combustion chamber to proceed, and you have refused to provide it.  You state the claim has been denied for lack of maintenance but that is not the case, the claim has not been denied at any point.

Your claim will not move without the requested photos. As a resolution,
CarShield will refund your last 12 payments upon execution of a Settlement and
Release Agreement. If you wish to accept this offer, please email [email protected] to
confirm and we will draft the Agreement and email it to you for your electronic
signature. Please be sure to include your contract number for faster

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: We spoke to the Ford dealership and Josiah stated they sent two emails with the pictures of the scope of cylinder #2 and Car Sheild claimed they wanted Ford to do a complete teardown of the motor which I would have to pay for out of pocket. I would like at least 3 years of my maintenence refunded instead of 12 months. I paid almost $10k to put that motor in my Ford Esape and do not think 12 months refunded is satisfactory.

    Sincerely,

Our offer of a refund of 12 monthly payments was more than generous considering we are not obligated to offer any refund after the first 30 days of purchase.  Your claim was also adjudicated correctly and per the terms of the contract agreement. I have been a paying member of $89 a month with Carshield since 2014. My policy is zero dollars for my deductable for any repairs, and for the past 11 years I have never filed a claim. Recently (August 2023* I filed my first claim for a radiator repair. I never would have imagined the run a round, disrespect, and lies that I received from a company who gladly took my money and then came up with everything to stop from repairing my vehicle. The cost was $1185 which they paid only $426. I called several offices to ask to speak to a manager and was met with extreme disrespect, and negativity. I kept telling them that I was told I could take it to any mechanic of my choice but I took it to one of their online listed maintenance repair facilities. They told me that the radiator was overpriced and the cost for the repairs was too high. I ended up paying $757 out of pocket for my first and only repair with them. This company is bait and switch, and should not be in business. I have paid $14,952 in the past 11 years and they couldn’t cover this cost. I tried to cancel and the phone kept being disconnected. Finally after 3 hours I was able to cancel the policy and was told that I could still use them for the remainder of the month since I had already paid for it. What a rip rip off. I should be refunded my money back for all the years that I didn’t file a claim and they were using my money to pay other settlements and such. BUYER BEWARE. Anybody that leaves a positive rating must be paid to do so. WHAT A RIPP PFF. GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY. As a retired military soldier, I am disgusted at these types of businesses that exploit and take advantage of the men/women who have and do provide protection to this country so they can have these types of SCAMS. SHAME ON YOU!

I'm filing a complaint on CarShield for not owning up to the contract set forth. I initially had taken on the contract on 12/31/2021 for the amount of $109.99 each month coverage of Powertrain Gold with labor and turbo/vehicle information *********************/Year 2007/Make: Mercedes Benz Model 5550/Salesperson (company); CarShield, *** ***** ****** ************* ****** *** *******. I have taken my vehicle to Mercedes dealership of Augusta, GA 30907, ********* **** ********** **., twice and each time service was not rendered, no repairs made, then I was alerted by member of the service dept. that my CarShield contract had expired due to the booklet but I responded, it can't be because I'm still making monthly payments, at the Mercedes dealership try everything to contact CarShield, all to no avail, my car was returned back to me after having it for a whole week during the 4th of July so they advised me to contact them because they stated that they were always placed on hold for 30 minutes at a time, and could never speak to anyone regarding my claim, CarShield just recently has taken a payment on August 7th for the amount of $109.99, a red flag went up to notify them that I wanted to cancel my service, and they said ok, and you will be notified by a letter of cancellation, have not received anything. I'm in pursuit of hiring an attorney because I was misrepresented and fraudulently taken advantage of by taking my money. I'm sending you a copy of CarShield's contract also a couple of bank statements regarding payment. I couldn't get July 31st but whatever you need I will provide.

My resolution is I need all of my money dated back to my initial expiration, or I will proceed legal process. You may reach me at ************* ****** ******* **** ****** **** ******** ***** ******** ** ******
P.S. I hope they weren't trying to take advantage of the age of my vehicle, or my age as a senior citizen.

I got Carshield because they said if I got their package. I would only have to pay the deductible. I got the Gold package. So, I waited month period before I could use them. I took my car to a shop to get the AC fixed. The shop I took it to called Carshield to inform them of the part, but Carshield stated that it was not covered in my package and that I would have to pay for part instead of the labor. I still had to pay for the $100 deductible. The second time I took my truck back to the shop because my ac went out again. The shop called Carshield again. Carshield paid for the compressor but I still had to pay the $100 deductible. I have been dealing with the AC for a couple of months. A day later the ac went out. Took the truck back to the shop and Carshield stated that the part was not in the package. Once again Carshield would not pay. I called Carshield and I asked what does this package covered and they mentioned the AC. I would like a refund and I paid three deductible with no satisfaction and parts and the AC was still not fixed.

I have been with this company for a long time. I realized that it wasn’t worth paying for because they don’t really help me. If they do except a claim, I still had to pay for everything but the part itself. I figured I could take the Money I’m sending them and save it for repairs. I tried on more than four occasions to cancel the policy and they always tell me that they have it canceled and will email me a confirmation number within 48 hours, I never once received this email and continue to see that in the app it’s still active. So after the fourth attempt, I wrote the confirmation number down only for them to call me repeatedly throughout the day harassing me saying (yet again) that it looks like they started the cancellation however they still need additional information. Each time I got this response or that they couldn’t complete the cancellation do to a hang up call. They have called and harassed me while working nonstop and put on the account that I’m delinquent. First thing in the morning and last thing at night they keep calling. They refuse to cancel the policy.

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service contract, ******** **** ****** ***** is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments.  We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Upon further review this claim was adjudicated correctly and was followed by the contracts coverable components. This can be found in Section B of your contract. The cancelation process was not completed prior due to the call being disconnected before the representative was able to read the cancelation procedures. As of 8/14/23 this was cancelled out. Our payments team had called in error but this is fully canceled and you will not receiving any further contact. We are sorry to lose you as a CarShield customer. As a courtesy we will refund your last two monthly payments. If you need anything in the future please do not hesitate to reach out.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 20510941, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However the cancellation policy was read to me the first time I canceled. Thank you

I bought a warranty package from Care Shield. This warranty is suppose to be the best warranty they have powertrain plus gold coverage. I call them on August, 23 in reference of my car needing repair. In the warranty they have items covered. My engine needs a new oil pan. I was told they will not help me repair my vehicle. I am not understanding the reason why. My engine is a covered item. If the oil pan is not replace the engine will have issues.I want them to help me cover some of the cost.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments.  We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Per ***,  your complaint is regarding stems from not having coverage for engine oil pan. There was no claim was not started for this repair but the notes verify you advised a previous repair facility changed the oil and installed a extended drain plug due to the old drain plug being stripped.  You stated this was done without their knowledge and currently the cause of the oil leak. Your contract does not have coverage for improper repairs or seals and gaskets as a stand alone repair.  A list of covered components can be found in Section B of your contract.  You may also need to contact the repair facility that performed the previous repairs and have them fix the issues.

We see that you recently contacted the CarShield customer service department and you were given a discounted monthly payments instead of cancelling your contract. We are happy to keep you as a CarShield customer.
