Purchase an extended warranty from Car Shield. I took my car to the shop (Performance ****motive LLC) to get some work done. Gave the shop a copy of my warranty. They called car shield to let them know what was found. The shop sent over all the parts & labor that was going to be needed to replaced with valve cover gaskets. CarShield approved for them to do the repairs. The cost was $1,918.14. I go to pay on my car and thr shop tells me that they only paid $1,050.44. Called CarShield talked to customer service and the top me that they only pay part on parts and labor. If CarShield approves the repair that the shop sent over to them explaining what the repair consists of and CarShield approves it then they should pay the whole bill instead of making me pay the rest on top of taking a $158.99 a month for the plan I have which is the Gold plan. The Gold plan is the plan that they offered me. They have a Diamond & Platinum plan as well but that wasn't offered to me. When I talked to customer service about the bill and complained about them not paying the whole thing then that's when I found out about the other plans. She said my car didn't qualify because of the year & mileage of my car. I want them to pay the balance of my car since they approved the repairs.Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service contract, ******** **** Shield (AAS) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Upon further review your claim adjudication was done correctly. The repair shops part and non-verifiable labor mark ups are not covered under the terms of the contract. However the Mid Cycle Enhancement parts and verified labor for covered repairs were correctly authorized on this claim. Exclusions can be found in Section D of your contract. The amount paid out on this claim was $1,050.44 which is more than what was paid into the contract. There would not be a refund nor any further payout on this claim. Car shield has been deducting the monthly payment from my account for the last seven months. They deny it but when pressed with proof then a supervisor will call me within ***** hours. Of course they dont. I have emailed copies of my bank statements and the email does not accept incoming emails. I am on a fixed income and cannot afford to have this money just taken away. I urge you to please help resolve this matter. I want all payments returned and send a letter of apology to my bank. Plus them be responsible for bank fees for returned check fees. This would not have happened if they had not taken money that not meant for them. They also sold my account to a sister company which now has two other companies withdrawing payments. This has to be illegal to do, t want all monies returned to me. I have sent cancellation notices to all companies and it is my understanding that any unused funds be returned within 30 days according to state law. I need some help to enforce this.Business Response

I have had car shield for 3 years and in 3 years time I have paid thousands into their business. And in 3 years time I have only used the service to get a water pump replaced and a thermostat. I have always kept up on my payments for the service and as of recent i have been having financial hardships so I called to cancel my contract and asked if I would be reimbursed for either a portion or a full amount of the money I have paid into it but yet only using it one time I was told they would not reimburse me anything?? A ******** to the face because although I was not expecting a full return but something!!! I don't appreciate paying all that money into something and be told that I will get NOTHING? What can I do to get some of my money back because this is a rip off to the highest power..Business Response

However, in an effort to resolve this matter CarShield will refund your last 10 payments upon execution of a Settlement and Release Agreement. If you wish to accept this offer, please email ******************************* to confirm and we will draft the Agreement and email it to you for your electronic signature. Hello I had made a complaint regarding car shield I had canceled my policy with them and was told in recent responses that I would be refunded my last 10 payment's and that they would draft up papers and send it to me for my electronic signature however it has been since 10-25-23 since that has been told to me yet the only emails I have received were emails trying to keep me as a customer by lowering the rates. I am very clear of my decision to have nothing else to do with carshield I am just wondering what's happening with this as it's taking a while and i have yet to hear or receive anything that they said they would do.Business Response

I drive a 2013 Cadillac Escalade and I have a leaking oil pan and a sensor switch that needs to be replaced. I went to *** **** and they said they would do it for $600. Car****** said they would not pay for all of this and would only pay a portion of this. They sent me to 3 different companies that they referred me to but the companies said that Car****** was a rip off. The companies that Car****** sent me to had to re-evaluate the problem. *** from Car****** said we see a complaint that you sent in, the said they would fix my car if I would get out of the contract. I called the 1-800 number and gave my information 3 times and they never called me back. They pull money off my bank account every month. I ***'t think it's right for them to be advertising this on tv. They lied to me for a small problem.
I want my car fixed and if they are not going to fix my car they should give me all of my money back.Business Response

We had our Car Shield policy for THREE years and never used the policy.
Well, the time has come to use the policy, and there's so much bs.
First, their process is super slow! I've been without a vehicle for a week, and they will not authorize a rental, until my vehicle, which is actually worked on. My vehicle has been sitting and sitting because the process is slow. I've had to rent a car out of pocket to get to work.
I feel they are taking their time to figure a way to deny my claim and not authorize a rental.
Craziness!!! This policy is not what they advertise.Business Response

Ive had car shield for a few year. I had an engine problem with a check engine light appearing and flashing. I stopped driving the vehicle. and as soon as I finished researching and calling multiple places to see who would accept car shield . After settling on ******** in ********* I took the vehicle there. After a a few weeks and some work they discovered that my engine needed ti be replaced . Car shield rep said he recommended an engine change and jln ordered a new engine and told me they would be replacing my engine . After a week I was contacted by JLN . They said the rep came back and said his superiors rejected the new engine and they should only replace the camshaft . After they opened the engine ti replace the camshaft they noticed more issues that indicated that the camshaft would not fox the issue and I needed to have an engine replacement . Car shield in response said that they would not be paying for an engine replacement due to a clause in the contract stating that they dont cover damages due to driving a vehicle after ignoring a check engine issue .I never drove my vehicle after the check engine appeared . I spoke to car shield after they called to notify me that they would pay only up to **** due to the clause mentioned . They said that i should have noticed the noise indicating my engine had major issues . JLN even told me that my engine sound doesnt show any signs of the issue as usually is the case with the issue with my engine . So Im here to dispute car shields claim that I continued to drive after my issue.I did not violate the contract and therefore they should do their part of the contract and cover my engine replacement in full and not partially as they said they would do since their claim that I drove it after the issue appeared. I asked them to tell me how they made that up and the rep said it was his superiors that decided that I shouldnt get a new engine despite the rep and JLN opinion that I should get a new engine .Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service contract, ******************** (AAS) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Your claim was reviewed by the Legal Claims Director for AAS, an ASE-Certified Master Mechanic, who determined the claim had been adjudicated correctly and in accordance with the terms of the contract.
Your claim originally started and authorized for a fuel pump replacement, that was authorized using your repair facility's parts and the final invoice was sent to AAS on 10/2/2023. Your repair facility had also diagnosed a running condition as needing spark plugs replaced and had replaced those that same visit. The next day the repair facility called AAS stating there were further issues. You brought your vehicle the next day with "same symptom". Further diagnosis indicated there was metal debris within the oil, low compression on cylinder 5 and damages to the cam shaft lobes and lifters as well as a broken valve spring. Your repair facility had quoted out an entire engine replacement but your contract coverages would only allow for a root cause of failure authorization due to continued operation.
If you have any additional questions regarding your claim, please contact AAS directly at ************. As the contract administrator and obligated party under the contract, they will be happy to answer any additional claim questions you may have.
If you wish to dispute a decision made by ******************** you will need to contact them directly at ************, by mail at ********************************************************************, by email at ********************************** or see Section ** ******* Resolutions, of your contract.

I got car shield because my truck is older and they said anything that oil touches will be replaced by the warranty. However I got cam shaft and lifter failure on my vehicle and it was in the shop for over two months with the mechanics trying to get in contact with them. the repair was over 7k and after all that hassle they only covered 1200 dollars of it all. They tried to get in contact with them several times trying to tell them it was mechanical failure and not due to negligence on my behalf. but nothing happen to it so I was stuck with a bill of 5800 dollars. I always kept up on payments etc but when it was time for them to step up they didn’t at all.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: granted it was 21 months ago. I’m having to pay out of pocket for all the expenses even to this day I’m still paying for the loans I had to take out for the fix of my vehicle. Which should have never happened because that’s the whole point of the insurance. The whole situation was ridiculous. The time wasted my leave was cut short by half (I was going on leave in the army at the time) So I couldn’t see most of my family due to this. and not to mention all the loans etc that I had to take out because insurance either wouldn’t contact the company or were extremely hard to contact in the first place.

I am rejecting this response because: I paid for over 4 to 5 months of service for a car repair insurance product and the product yall offered didn’t at all go with what y’all said it would replace.
