SST took over my loan with ******. I made a payment to ****** in December prior to transition to SST, now SST is not honoring that payment. They forced me to take an ontime payment reward to bring my payment current despite my two on time payments to the loan/ The company lied and said all December payments would be applied - but refused to adjust to reflect payments.Business Response

RE: ******* ***** Marcus Personal Loan
RE: SST ACCOUNT *************** sold off said debt to SST in 2023 at a fraction of the cost which is a risk SST brought upon themselves. I will not be paying said debt with SST, through whom I do not have a contract with. In their prior response, SST has stated that they do not own the account and are simply servicing the account for ****** ** ******* *****. THAT IS UNTRUE. I contacted Marcus by ******* ***** and they have stated that they have sold off debt to SST and no longer own any personal loans. So who owns this account? Simple answer, the debt was purchased at a fraction of the cost by SST at their own risk for an account they do not own.
In accordance with the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC § 1692, you are hereby notified to CEASE AND DESIST any and all further attempts to collect this alleged debt. I will work directly with the alleged original creditor ******* ***** Marcus to resolve this matter, as warranted. Please take note that I am declining any attempts by or any other collection agency with regards to this matter.
In addition, you are hereby requested to inform and/or remove from any reporting agencies this alleged debt that is currently in dispute. I will require documentation that you have complied with this request.
You are also requested to CEASE AND DESIST contacting me with regards to this matter, unless it is to notify me via U.S. mail that you will be terminating all attempts to collect this alleged debt.

My loan with ******* ***** was transferred to be serviced by SST. They showed me delinquent for half of my monthly payment due to system issues during the transfer. I had discover send them an ACH to payoff the loan and they have yet to credit the payment, claiming they haven’t received it. They payment was electronic meaning they would have received the next day at the latest. Meanwhile I have been accruing daily interest charges and they will research the account. This company is not helpful at all, they can’t explain to me why a 13,472.12 payment doesn’t credit when the transaction even has the correct account numberBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because:
The payoff was submitted on 12/19/2023. SST claimed they never received that payoff which then prompted Discover to involve their legal team for a recovery process. I had to pay off the loan from my account directly on 01/08/2024 and they didn’t even back date to 12/19/2023 when the original payoff was sent resulting in several days of daily interest charge. They also informed me they never received the initial 500 payment made 12/01/2023 however coincidentally after the payoff I sent on 01/08/2024 they have since located that payment posted it as a reversal and after having proof the loan was paid off with 0.00 balance the next day I had a new balance of 500.22.

I made a payment to ****** ** ******* ***** on 12/7/23 for my regular monthly payment. The company transferred my loan to SST on 12/11/23, I was notified 12/19/23 about the transfer. SST contacted me on 12/21/23 stating that I needed to make a payment for the month of December, which I had already made on 12/7/23. SST is now requiring me to make another payment for the month of December, because they misapplied my monthly payment as principle only. I have contacted SST again today 12/27/23 and the representative said that their was no higher management that I can speak with to fix the issues, and that I am one of many customers that are in the same situation with their loans. The SST representative stated there was no solution that SST can provide to us to fix the issue and they are asking for their customers to make an additional monthly payment, although SST is at fault for this issue. She also stated that this issue will not show up on my credit report for the month of December, however after reading multiple complaints from others regarding similar issues I do not believe that is true. I am requesting that the payment is fixed on my account to make it my regular monthly payment. If this cannot be fixed I am requesting for the payment to be refunded back to me so I can make my regular monthly payment.Business Response

My personal loan was just bought (December 2023) by SST from Marcus Goldman Sachs. Without any notice, and with disregard to the terms of my loan, SST is asking for a double payment this month. I always make my loan payments on time and have no charges in arrears. I paid this month’s (December’s) payment early. I electronically made a $550 payment (via Truist Bank) on December 1, 2023. (My payment exceeded the amount due for the monthly payment.) Now, SST is saying that my payment is not counting as, apparently, Goldman Sachs had applied my payment just to the principal of the loan when they sold it to SST. SST is saying I need to make another payment this month. Many of the people whose loans SST purchased from Goldman Sachs are being impacted by this. They are violating the terms of my loan agreement. I originally had a loan with ****** *******, as of December 10 they moved it to sst, I did a loan pay off payment on the 15th and they process that plus the monthly payment. I called immediately the 17th (first business day) and was told I would be refunded. I have emailed almost everyday with no reply. I called again today and it says I still owe 69 over the phone, which is impossible when online says I owe nothing. I just want my overpayment back.Business Response

I was contacted for the first time via text by Systems and Services Technologies Inc on 12/19/23 saying my ****** loan was now being serviced by SST moving forward. I received another text that day saying I had a payment due. I had made a payment on 12/1/23 to ****** for over half the amount owed for the 12/25/23 minimum payment due. I received a 12/10/23 statement from ****** saying my payment had applied and I owed the remaining amount. I had previously scheduled a payment to ****** for 12/15/23 for over the remaining amount due, so to my knowledge, I should not have owed anything for 12/25/23 after 12/15/23. I called SST on 12/20/23 and was told it was fixed. I checked my account on 12/23/23 and it still showed a payment due and that the 12/15/23 payment had been reversed, so I called again that day. I made a payment that day to replace the 12/15/23 reversed payment and was told my next regular payment would be due 1/25/24. On 12/26/23, my account showed I was delinquent. I called yet again and was told I was delinquent by $829. SST says ****** did not apply the 12/1/23 payment to the 12/25/23 minimum due. They refused to correct their system, my account shows that I did not pay and I had to make yet another payment trying to bring my account current. I initiated all 3 calls and would not have known there was any issue had it been up to SST. The only communication I received from ****** was a redirect from their website when I tried to login. Nothing was communicated by SST that previous payments would not be applied to the monthly minimum due or that payment methods accepted by ****** may not be accepted by SST. No correction was done to my account even though I had paid more than the minimum due.Customer Answer

I made my Dec 28 payment on Nov 30 and Dec 1 in amounts totalling 441.05$ and have even paid additional since, and they're refusing to apply this payment towards my Dec 28 payment because they took over my ****** personal loan and ****** said I was good for December, and this new company SST is saying they applied to principal only, but that is false. ****** took interest out of those payments.
I already paid my Dec 28 payment, and I don't have a spare 441.05$ to spend.
It's illegal to demand double payment for a payment they've already received for the month and I've more than satisfied that loan payment of 441.05$ that we agreed on.
I used to work for a bank and I know what they're attempting to do is entirely wrong.Business Response

I contacted SST at ************ on multiple occasions beginning in August of 2023 regarding this account that was opened without my knowledge and a debt of $286 account number 41453747 reference number 18184218. My last conversation on 12/20/23 and spoke with two different agents one named ****** ********* and another named ***** ****** I was advised that this debt had not been given to any collection agency so I can not settle the debt and it will remain on my report. A company named ******** ******** ************* *** mailed me a bill for the same balance stating they are the debt collectors. At this point, this debt has not been validated or verified in over 8 months and I have not even been able to settle this small debt that is impacting this credit report tremendously. I would like this removed from my credit report, although I have no knowledge of this debt I would like to resolve it under the FCRA guidelines so my credit is no longer impacted. The company has failed to give a resolution.Business Response
