  Do not used these place, they charge $450 for a BASIC TAX return, and do not listen to their customers. They have no knowledge in getting amended returns done. Make fraudulent charges for services that were already paid for, etc. Worst tax company ever. This business should not be allowed to remain open. Their "Tax Professionals" are just people who took an online course and pretend to know what they are doing, but probably failed HS math.

  This was my first time using H&R Block, and it will be the last.
  I had previously filed with TurboTax for 15+ years, but I wanted dedicated help because I moved to a new state. I only ever communicated with a rep over email; after I sent her my tax returns, she said she processed everything and that I was all set.
  I emailed her twice to confirm that BOTH my H&R fees and my federal tax payments had been processed. She said yes.
  Three months later, I received a letter from the IRS telling me that I owed $754 in federal taxes and that interest would accrue every day that I didn't pay. I spent SIX WEEKS trying to get a hold of someone at H&R block. I emailed my original professional multiple times and attempted to get through to someone on the phone, to no avail.
  Finally, a different tax professional very rudely responded and told me I had to pay my taxes on the IRS website. I requested a phone call, which he refused to do. I also asked him to verify which payment they used to process H&R block so I could better verify on my end, but he never responded. I was left to quickly pay the money on the IRS website, but I am still in the process of trying to figure out how much I owe in interest.
  This review is for the H&R Block in Ballston, Virginia. But I was never able to get through to anyone to help me navigate the issue, and because of their negligence and poor communication, I owe more money than I did before.
  I am willing to amend this review if H&R Block can help mitigate the financial loss that I've incurred because of their errors.

  I have been dealing with h&r block for the last 10 plus years and the last couple years have been ridiculous, but my complaint has to do with the taxes that I filed for this year what has happened is they have allowed someone to use my social security number to file their taxes and to make matters worse I wasn't informed about it until I went to pay for my taxes, for someone that has been a long time customer this is something that should have been caught immediately and for this to happen and now I'm going to have difficulty filing my taxes for the next few years and the fact also that h&r block seems like they don't care about criminal proceedings because as far as I'm concerned this is fraud all day long I'm also in the position of previous comments that see as well if I could give h&r block zero Stars I would do it 100 times over

  Went to my local HR Block in Stuart Florida to have my taxes done for a sole proprietary LLC. Sat with a tax professional who started to input my info and told me what docs I needed to bring in for a follow up meeting. We scheduled a meeting for the following week. When I arrived at the scheduled time. I was informed that because tax season was over. The person I was working with was no longer working there. I had to reschedule with another person. No one called and told me about the situation. So it was a waste of time. Very unprofessional. I scheduled another appointment for the following week with another tax professional in the same office. When I arrived on the scheduled time and date the person I was going to see informed me that she was leaving in two days and would not be working anymore in 2025. My return was complex and would take more then the two days she had left. So I had to reschedule again. Another waste of my time. The third tax professional completed my return and did a very good job. I came to the office paid my bill and was told she would now file the return electronically, Fantastic! One month later I called to check on the status of my refund. I was then informed it was never filed. The person I spoke to, then did it immediatly. The Stuart office is very unorganized and unprofessional. Called HR Block to complain about the service. They took my complaint and said they would get back to me in two to four weeks. They never called me back. I called them after 30 days. Offered me nothing not even an apology.

  Mess my taxes up the first time so I had to go back. This is after the office was closed for a week while I’m acquiring penalties and interest because of their mistake so I go to another H&R Block office to get it fixed. They messed it up worse than the first people I would never use H&R Block again wasting my money

  If I could give a zero, I would. In April2025, I hand delivered my documents (because I said I would drop them off). I gave them to an elderly man in the right front cubicle and said that I wanted ***** ***** to have them. He said she was on the phone with someone else and he would get them to her. I called multiple times, emailed them and I kept getting pushed off and they even said ***** was gone for the summer. Needless to say after 2 months of calling, they said they LOST all of my tax documents with sensitive personal information in them. I am furious! I will never do business with them again. This is not a group of trustworthy individuals, very disappointed and angry. Not to mention they have jepordized my tax filings because of it.

  If I could leave a zero star I would. ***** from HR block in post falls Idaho neglected to do her job fully and left us owing a bunch of money. We have no problem paying but she lied to us about owing money after we asked multiple times if we did. Then when I brought it to her attention she laughed at me and ask “you’re mad at me” after I asked why she didn’t read through our taxes all the way. She admitted to doing her job incorrectly but had no solutions to what she could help us with.

  THEY LOST ALL OF MY SENSITIVE TAX DOCUMENTS. My 1099s, my receipts, my w2, and they have done absolutely nothing to fix the issue. DO BOT USE THIS BUSINESS FOR ANYTHING!

  The online filing is a ripoff. The charge you before you finalize your return, then steal you money when you let them know they did your taxes wrong. Tried to get a refund and was denied. Went to Turbo take and didn't owe the amount block came up with. Tried to get a refund again and they quit talking to me. Will never use again and don't recommend they, they steal your hard earned money.

  I filed my 2021 taxes with HR Block on Lee Jackson Highway in Fairfax VA. The person who filed the taxes made a mistake on the taxes such that I had to pay back taxes along with interest on both federal and state taxes equaling over $5,000. HR Block has refused to return any of my calls or acknowledge my complaints. I have called over 20 times in the past three months and no one has called me back or responded to me in any way. This customer service is outrageous! Every time I call I am told that I will be contacted in 3-5 business days but I have never heard from anyone. I have been given 3 escalation numbers but I never have heard from anyone. Now I am being told that they will not pay the interest on the mistake that they made nor will they refund my tax fee that I paid to file the taxes. HR Block is a scam and they have zero interest in treating their customers correctly.
