      My daughter started late and was having trouble adapting to the new school, varsity tutors turned it around for us. She was paired almost immediately with an amazing tutor and is back on track to an A+ If you are looking for a tutor varsity tutors is a Lifesaver.

      This is a fraud. After talking to their marketing person, who assured me they had experts around the country who could help my son, I signed my 17 year old son up. I gave a long explanation of the learning challenges my son has, and sent a long explanation to his tutor. After my son had had about 4 sessions, but struggled to explain exactly what the tutor had been doing to help, I watched a few of the online recordings of his sessions. In essence the "tutor" was sitting quietly as my son read aloud. He interjected twice, without follow up to define a couple words. No discussion, no instruction, no nothing. We already have our son read aloud every night, with extensive vocabulary work. What he was getting from the tutor was about what I would have gotten if I had paid one of the neighbor's 12 year old kids $10 an hour. OK. ****** learned. No harm no foul. Sunk cost. Needless to say, I wanted to cancel. This is when it gets murky. Apparently as part of the onboarding, I unwittingly signed a "contract" locking myself into 12 months at $489/month for a service I neither want, nor will receive. To my knowledge, this is illegal in the state of NY. Nevertheless, they refuse to cancel under any circumstance. The local marketing person (the only one you can reach) has repeatedly assured me someone in "management" will call to discuss. Never happened. BEWARE. Legitimate businesses do not need to go to these extreme lengths to prevent cancellation/take your money. These are scam artists preying on desperate parents. BEWARE

      Varsity Tutors is the best tutoring say you could possibly find! Varsity Tutors not only has a rigorous assessment process, and sharing that you get a tutor that is knowledgeable about the subject you want to learn, but Varsity Tutors also advanced and have a lot of tools that make your learning experience so much better. With varsity you are able to share your screen with your tutor, upload documents, even save and rewatch your sessions. Not only that, but there are a ton of tutors for different subjects that you can choose from, and the customer service team ensures that they find the right tutor for you.Do you or your child the favor of getting a tutor through Varsity Tutors!

      Tried to hire a tutor for my childs ELA ***** using Varsity Tutor. They wanted money upfront without allowing us to interview the tutor in order to see if it was a good fit. We were told I needed to give them money before they would even look for a tutor. The parent is paying for the service, parent should be the the one interviewing tutor before payment.

      Fantastic - wish we started sooner!The tutor that my 8th grader has for algebra is fantastic!!! He has gained so much confidence since working with her. She explains everything so well!! It will make his transition to high school so much better! Would recommend to everyone - and the feedback you get for each season is great!

      My daughter (*) was matched with an Algebra tutor on Varsity Tutors, and I could not have paired two people better. *'s confidence was shaken after failing a unit and our tutor has spent so much time getting her back up to speed. She also made sure to connect with her personally about sewing and other hobbies -- even though sessions are remote, she is getting to know the WHOLE kid. She is also great at keeping parents in the loop. I have received texts, emails, and really thorough summaries about their sessions less than 30 min after they conclude. She also asked me to send the teacher's syllabus so she could be totally plugged into what S was learning. Amazing and worth every penny. Looking forward to seeing an improvement in her grades and her mojo next semester!

      We are loving Varsity Tutors! My 9 year old daughter needed a little help with reading. We met her tutor and the tutor recommended 2 sessions each week. They work on phonics, strategies, fluency, and have some fun. My daughter really enjoys the time and is making great improvement! It is so fun to see her light up knowing she is improving her reading skills. Our tutor is great as well. Very good with her communication on what took place during the online tutor session, feedback on what my daughter needs to continue to practice, and praise for her persistence and eagerness to learn. It has been a great experience so we are signing my 7 year old up too!
