  Horrible! Worst experience ever and even worse with every person that I have talked to. The tutor we had literally fell asleep during our session but was quick to cut our session. So we backed out Im the whole thing and said we couldnt get our money back even though there was a money back guarantee. They did not flag my son with special needs at first. They also agreed to put me on a pause so we could wait to restart his tutoring and then they turned around said the pause was technically not valid because we had already canceled but yet they knew that and had offered me that option. Why even do that if they cant even honor that?!?! They calculated our hours remaining wrong because they only have one hour increments that they can only bill for instead of the 30 minute sessions we had and never fixed it on our profile. They have lied to me so many times and I have talked to 4 different people with all different reasons as to why things went wrong with no real resolution. I feel cheated and swindled and never had the opportunity to make an informed decision and the person who suffers the most is my son. This program is horrible and do not recommend for any parent to work with, go find another group that actually offers in person tutoring options and actually cares about customers. This place is not worth the money and saw nothing super special that they did to tutor and the tutors do not take this job seriously and neither does this company. Parents deserve better and so do the kids. I have never had such a horrible experience with a company and they continue to keep reminding me of how companies like this prey on parents trying to help their children but dont care at all about helping children. They should be shut down.

  Parents with minor children! Avoid unless you're actively seeking to enter an automated nightmare. The tutors can be just fine. For the most part, it's not the tutors. It's the nameless, faceless system and lack of accountability. The latest issue, in a string of issues that began from the outset of our one-year contract, is a tutor who sets my son's tutoring for 2 AM in our timezone. After waiting for his email reply in their system, he acknowledged and apologized for the error. However, he then set reset the new time at 2 AM PST again! Now, to get this corrected, since we're within a 24-hr cancellation window, I have to do all the work for his/their error.

  Honestly couldn't recommend this company enough. I took organic chemistry this summer and got an A in the class after taking it for a third time where i had to withdrawl from the other ones due to how bad i was doing. The major difference was made by having a tutor who was very knowledgeable in the topic and was very adaptive with the tutoring style to help shape it to a way that I understood as well as to the format that my class was in so that I didn't get confused. The tutor provided great examples of what something did or could do without taking it to a point that I got lost and was very flexible with her schedule. While their site is a bit pricey it is absolutely worth it if you put the effort in with the tutor to help you succeed.

  The SAT tips and tricks course was very informative and helpful for all planning to take the test. The instructor gave great information with examples in a way that was easily understood.

  They get one star because my review wont go through unless I give them one when I actually want to give them negative 10 stars. Horrible group of people. Extremely unprofessional. Tutor cancelled and rescheduled on her whim without reaching out to me or asking. Only way I would find out she was canceling and rescheduling was from the automated alerts that would pop up. When I tried to cancel my membership, they would not do it and instead tried to sell me something else. So disgusted by the fact they are in business. I really hope this scam of a company is shut down. How a tutor is allowed to cancel a session 10 minutes before and then their policy says consumer has to give 24 ht notice or be charged is so ridiculous.

  Deceptive business practices. When I signed up with Varsity tutors to help my son prepare for the SAT, they told me that we could cancel at any time. Well, I tried to cancel it after he took his SAT and they said that I had signed a 12 month contract. 12 months??? for an SAT preparation that was less than 6 months away from when he started the tutoring? Insane. I asked the rep to show me the contract I signed. He sent it to me, but he could not show me where on the contract I agreed to 12 months. He said that he could see it was a **************************************** the actual contract. What? How is this legal? I get that companies like Varsity Tutors HAVE to find any way possible to get their customers on a subscription model, but 12 months? I have 5 kids and soon the other 4 will be in need of tutoring. I hope Varsity Tutors enjoyed my subscription fee for the remaining months, because it will cost them more than that in lost business. Way way more. I swear to God I will tell every parent, every teacher, every *********** kid I see and meet from now on about my bad experience and to avoid Varsity Tutors.

  I have been trying to become fluent in Italian for over ******************************************************************** I found Varsity Tutors and they put me together with a native speaker from *******. Her name is ****** and she has been patient and supportive. She evaluated my language skill quickly and over the last 5 months she has helped me to become confident and knowledgeable in the Italian language. I will be traveling to ****** for three weeks and will be practicing my Italian in real life situations. Kudos to ****** and to Varsity Tutors.
