They have an insurance scam they get you on when you arrive at the counter to pick up your rental. When you have your own insurance they make you pay large amount of money depending on your insurance deductible. They wanted us to pay an additional $278. Most people that was there when we were did not know about this either. Buyer Beware!!

This place does not accept insurance provided by credit card or international insurance. Instead, once you take an hour to get there by shuttle, they force you to buy insurance at $50 per day. They then add another $15 per day for tolls. None of the fees are stated upfront. Instead, you're trapped with going with them because if you don't, they charge you a cancellation fee. This company needs to be shut down.

Terrible scam, Priceless car rental plays an old scam where they shuttle you to their car rental pickup site, then require you to show insurance declaration of coverage for liability... then they require you to have at least 500,000 coverage, otherwise you have to pay $25/day for their insurance... then, they say that Florida requires you to pay $14/day for sun pass, even thou you don't use it!I I had booked for an intermediate SUV, we got a crappy, smelly small Nissan SUV.
Car rental was around $240, after all the scam charges, it came out to over $500! Every customer that was there were upset, one couple said no and we offered to have driver take them back to airport. But only when they had another pickup.. they finally had to get an Urber! There's more, but I think you get the idea!!!

I rented a car for my trip while booking a flight. I had to cancel the trip with 24 hours do to work related problems. When I tried logging back into their site my password that I just set up would not work, clicked on lost password and they sent me an email that said here is your access code and it was blank. This happened 3 times, so I called. I was next in line for the call and it took 30 minutes to get through and they charged me 5 percent of my rental fee due to processing. This is a shady company from the top down.

Don’t book with them under no circumstances! Total scam ! They don’t give me the car I paid for 4 days despite informing them about my flight being delayed. They don’t even reimburse me.

      Everyone is right TERRIBLE company.
I rented out of Ft.Lauderdale and was to drop in Miami.
They said I did not pay extra to drop in in Miami (I did) it took over a hour to get processed.
Then after we left we noticed the check tire light was on and we stopped at the gas station and had to fill it, then the front undercarriage was dragging the ground.

I called and asked them to switch out the car and the would not and told me I had to return it to Miami.
I only had three days on my trip and it took me half of my next day to return it.

The new car they swapped out had the check tire light go on after I left.
Travelocity needs to not use this company.

Malicious company out to find any way to over charge you. They'll lure you in with great rates and then spring on all the extras. If you have full coverage renters insurance they'll charge you up $150 to use your own insurance. I was charged for using a Sunpass that I opted out of and paid each toll in cash. They refuse to remove the Sunpass so it's entrapment. You have no way to prove you've paid, unless you're able to retrieve a receipt from a teller which is not always available. They don't care about customer satisfaction. They will have you waiting for hours(3-4) trying to retrieve/drop off a rental. They disregard the value of time while on vacation with children, itineraries and flights to catch. This company is not consumer friendly if you don't care about being scammed feel free give them your money and your time. They will gobble it up. Hope they are put out of business ASAP I'm sure they'll have a class action suit in near future. This company is TRASH

Absolutely horrendous customer service. The office at LAX is practically a cubicle, only 2 people can fit in it to check the car out and back in. When we arrived there was a line of about 20 people also waiting to get a car. And because the place is a cubicle, the line was outside of the parking lot. We had to wait almost 45 minutes to finally reach the desk. When we did finally reach them, they were miserable. We rented a Toyota Corolla and when the guy pulled up the car for us, it was a Hyundai Elantra which I don’t think is right to just switch the cars to something we didn’t ask for. When I went to turn the car in, I called the day before to ask about the return process and they kept hanging up on me. I called 10 times before I decided to just call headquarters. The lady at headquarters was much better than the ones at LAX, but overall the process was awful. I really recommend going with another rental car company if you can!!!!

If I could put no stars I would. Watch out for all the fees they have and the money they hold upon rental. They are scammers and will not give you any money back and will not answer your phone calls. They give you the run around even if you have to cancel a month ahead of time due to unforeseen reasons. Rental car prices are ridiculous on all rental companies.
Do not use them through Expedia either as they will not support you in helping you get your money back. Expedia also gives you the run around and states they can not help you.
This is terrible for the consumers especially with the economy the way it has been and every penny counts to people who don't make a fifty to hundred thousand a year.

Stay away from this company! They truly are a paragon for terrible business practice in US. They're the type of company that will soon be under some federal investigation or better, out of business, if they continue their legacy. They forced me to buy their insurance for $170 when I arrived at their counter, claiming my insurance’s comprehensive & liability policy was not adequate for rental. I've NEVER had any issues renting any vehicle in this country on my insurance. My insurance offers comprehensive and liability coverage for my Tesla which extends to rental cars within the US. If NextCar requires their customers to have an unreasonable amount of comprehensive & liability coverage extending beyond what is nationally required, then this requirement needs to be mentioned at the time of booking. This was nothing more than a dirty business tactic to lurk people to their location and then scam them to pay more than what they signed up for.

They also charge you ridiculous amount for additional drivers and for using tolls, nothing like what I've seen with other companies. Honestly, this is where they start to scam you into paying more than what they advertised the car for initially.

Next, my pickup location was airport but came to find out the night before my flight, it was a 10-min drive from the airport. Again, terrible business practice of lying about their location.

The icing on the cake was the car itself. They handed me an old, outdated, dirty Camry which did not even offer Apple CarPlay. Just to reiterate, CarPlay came out in 2014, and now 98% of new cars in the US come with CarPlay installed. The car was dirty especially the driver side. The floor was muddy and wet. They did not even bother to vacuum or wipe down the interior of the vehicle.

This was my first and definitely my last time renting from NextCar. I suggest you stay away from this company and opt for another well known brand because their prices are inaccurate and misleading.
