      Do not rent from this place it’s a total scam I gave them a $250 deposit and was told I was going to get it back with 5 business days of returning the car. I returned the car in good standing and actually put more gas than what they gave it to me with and it’s been like a month and I still haven’t got my deposit money back !! There is no way of contacting them. The phone never works. I also had to wait at the airport for at least an hour and ended up Had to pay $30 for an Uber when I get there even worse I had to wait five hours for a rental got charged to use my own insurance $153!! Please avoid the headache and don’t waste your time renting here. They even got black mold on the ceiling. Staff is extremely rude. It is just an all-around nightmare. I need my $250 back that I was suppose to get back I have the proof and paperwork !!!!!!

      If I could give this car rental company a ZERO rating, I would. I booked a rental and paid for it ahead of time. Upon picking up the car, I was charged additional, hidden, "administrative fees" because I chose to use my own insurance. If I used their insurance, it would have been even more money.
      The total came to MORE than the rental itself. CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH!
      I will never use the company again and will continue to warn others, including the BBB about their practices.

      Title: Terrible Experience – Avoid Payless Car Rental!

      I recently had a truly awful experience with Payless Car Rental in Fort Lauderdale near the airport (not Miami but I couldn't find Fort Lauderdale here). I rented a car through Holidaycars.com and was given a receipt stating that the car was fully paid for with no additional charges. However, upon arriving at the Fort Lauderdale location on December 16, 2023, for a 7-day rental until December 24, 2023, I was shocked to be informed that I had to pay an additional $475 USD for liability insurance and the Sun Pass for tolls.

      My initial rental cost was supposed to be a reasonable $200 USD, but it ballooned to a staggering $617 USD, more than triple what I was quoted. Feeling blindsided, my party and I decided to return the car immediately, on the same day, December 16th, at 8 PM. However, when we returned the vehicle, we were told that there would be no refunds, and we were still required to pay the full amount.

      This experience with Payless Car Rental was nothing short of infuriating. Their business practices are absolutely outrageous, and their customer service is virtually non-existent – we couldn't even reach them on the phone. I strongly advise anyone considering renting from Payless Car Rental, regardless of the location, to think twice. Save your hard-earned money and choose a reputable car rental company instead.

      My advice: Stay far, far away from Payless Car Rental – it's just not worth the headache and financial stress. ???

      Scam! Rented SUV thru priceline. I knew rental company was off site from Tampa International. I went to the offsite rental shuttle area and waited an hour and 15 minutes for a shuttle that never showed. After numerous calls to Carwiz, with each time them telling me a shuttle was on its way, I received a call from them telling me they didn't have the SYV I rented available and all they had was a Toyota Corolla. I was told I could cancel and they would refund my money. Its going on a week now and I still haven't received a refund. Another issue with this company is they firce you to purchase their collision insurance even though my personal insurance agent told me I am covered under my personal insurance plan. $40 additional per day for the insurance. Thats more than the rental cost

      I had a 1pm appointment to mick up a car, stood in line for a hour and half waiting, while two poor desk agents struggled with computer issues. At one point one of the agents decided he needed a break and walked outside. Leaving one agent with over 30 people, yes I counted. Once I got assistance, I was tackled with all kinds of hidden fees, my prepaid $449 was now $1027.60. I was then sent outside in the heat (Puerto Rico) to stand and wait for my car. A hour later, a black car, DIRTY, sound running rough pulls up, guy gets out, yells y name, throws paperwork in car and walks away. 30 minutes later still waiting, I videoed all the damage to outside of car, the stained smelly seats, the low tire pressure light. When I asked the agent about the low pressure light, he told me it is always on. Asked for another car, clean, not smelling like inside of a bar. He told me that is all they had. I could cancel and try someplace else, refunds take 7-10 business days. By this time I was late for a event, 20-30 people still standing waiting for their vehicles. As I tried to leave, the driveway was blocked with return vehicles, people just pulled up and got out leaving the in road.
      Waiting another 15 minute's for agents to clear street I was on my way in a disgusting car for $1027.60.

      The vendor, which uses various car names from NextCar, Mex Car Rental, Wheego, Routes, Colusa, and others and is a company called OneSwitch, who is using unscrupulous practices in business. Wait lines exceeding 2 hours, automatically cancel reservations while people are in line because it was 2 hours after they were supposed to pick up ... with no ability to retrieve expired reservations, and the company does not allow any new reservations to be made on site.

      In addition, even when insurance is provided, they are demanding unobtainable minimums that don't exist when they look at your insurance to verify coverage. Asking for $1M in personal liability, which isn't even an option on reputable insurance companies like Progressive, then holding you hostage as you have to fork out an additional $30 per day for insurance, along with $14.50 for their mandatory toll package that has to be added to your rental. And, when I tried to upgrade my coverage (which would be effective immediately), they told me that it had to be changed to $1M at least 30 days before traveling. My rental was $412, prepaid with Priceline, and they demanded an additional 900 dollars from me. As my daughter had been waiting at the airport for over 2 hours while I waited in line, I was forced to pay this additional fee for unnecessary insurance. Then they still told me that my insurance would be used to cover collision, but it is not covered by the $30 fee they are charging me per day. BTW, after I left, I tried to change my policy, and the highest liability I can buy is $50K.

      I have rented cars for over 40 years and have never experienced this kind of treatment and was taken advantage of, along with 100 other people, just during the time I was there. This type of service and bait and switch is unacceptable for any customer to experience, and they are doing this daily.

      Can I give them ZERO STARS for the anguish they cause our visitors to Florida!!!!!

      Would not Answer calls , couldn’t get a car . Got scammed for 170$ . They left us stranded 18hrs from home on Christmas Eve . would not answer the phone so we could come get the car . We pre paid for . Can not get my money back .

      priceless in miami tried to get 1600$ extra when i showed up to pick up car. i had already paid thru expedia. priceless is a shady business. i immediatly canceled the reservation and they refused to refund eventhough i was told previously i would get a refund if i cancelled

      The absolute worst. The worst car rental place I’ve ever been. They overcharge me for no reason. Very upsetting. I know it’s tempting because the rates are so good, but just don’t do it.

      DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL SCAMMERS!! They scammed us out of our money for a rental. They did not have a rental car that we PAID for months in advance. I called 5 hours before we were to arrive and notified them of a flight delay. They made NO attempt to move my time back and they ended up getting double paid for the vehicle we paid for months ahead. Stay away!! I wish no one else to get scammed by this low life place.
