I was contacted several times before agreeing to advertise for The Knot/Wedding Wire specifically because I did not want to enter into any type of contract. While on the phone, and through texts and emails, I was repeatedly reassured that I could cancel at any time. She told me it was okay to try it out and see if it worked for me. I was hesitant even more so because I am a SPA business and they did not have that category. Again, she reassured me to try it out and that cancel if I didnt like how it worked. She called it an agreement and said repeatedly that I could cancel if it did not fit my business. Well 9 months later, Ive gotten ZERO leads for my SPA and the spam I get seems fraudulent. Ibe been heavily misled, my company mishandled, and fraudulently tied into a contract that I am now told I cant get out of. The customer service help brushes you off, but it easy to deceitfully tell you what you want to hear to tie you into a contract. At this point the contract cannot stand when it was a scam. The representative was knowingly deceitful for the sole purpose of taking my money without providing ANY type of service.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
There was no resolution provided when I’m given the same generic information provided to me AFTER the problem arose. Again, my problem has been with the deceitful way I was brought into this Advertising. Not once, and I repeat, not once was I told that this was a year long commitment. I was instead repeatedly told it was a year of the price agreement and that I could cancel anytime. I openly expressed my concern with contracts and told her I did not want to commit to anything I couldn’t cancel. Again, she reassured me I could cancel anytime if it did not work out. And now after 9 months into this, I’m told that was indeed a lie. I’m expected to let it go when you employ and continue to support fraudulent practices. As it seems, this is a much larger problem that other vendors are encountering. If this isn’t resolved, we will proceed with legal.

I like to say that Weddingwire and the Knot is a scam. There are a ton of leads and you'll spend so much time answering leads that never pay out. What's most concerning is how shady the business is. I was locked into a year contract and I understood that. I was clear that I was not consenting to an auto-renew. A year goes by and it auto-renews at double the price. Such a scam. Anytime I called them and wrote to them many times, they took more than a day to get back to me and gave me the same excuse and result. I will never recommend this company to anyone.Business Response

I like to say that I never got any help from them especially since I kept calling about the problem and left lots and lots of messages but never got back to me so after the year contract I canceled because it was a scam, look at the ****** reviews and you will see all the complaints about this company.
I'm a senior and they are taking advantage of me and many other people who are legit in this business. They are not people-oriented and they do not help at all the vendors. They are here to make a fast buck. They should be investigated.Customer Answer

I joined WeddingWire & The Knot after I had a long phone call with one of their reps. She proceeded to tell me that this was peak wedding inquiry season and I was going to be so busy. I haven't booked a single wedding. I keep getting fake inquiries. I emailed them for help and they never answered. I did the phone meeting to "optimize" my profile and it still didnt work. I was promised so much and have gained nothing. I pay $240 a month which is supposedly the "lowest" package but I chatted with some other ladies on it and they are paying way less than me. I thought this was a month to month subscription as most of these things are. I want out of this year contract because this is straight up robbery. You cannot expect me to pay that much when the websites ruin the resolution of my professional photos and have generated 0 results. I have booked more weddings from friends and vendor referrals than this website. DO NOT SIGN UP! I am calling my bank because these people take advantage of businesses trying to grow! I just want my subscription canceled! As a single woman owned business I cannot afford to pay for ZERO results!! Especially when others are only paying $180 and I got SCREWED! PLEASE CANCEL MY CONTRACT.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because I was informed that cheapest package would be $240 and I now realize there are people paying much less. The leads are terrible, their website has issues every day. Their app never loads. I get locked out constantly. I pay $240 a month for their website that makes all of my professional photos blurry. I no longer want to advertise through this website. I would like my 12 month subscription canceled. This seems like a simple fix but all that was responded to was the scam leads. I get “leads” and then they don’t respond. Just cancel my subscription simple as that. This website promised a lot but it truly needs updates and modernizing.

The Knot website, without our permission or knowledge, added their own gift card to our registry. The gift card can only be used on products from their website which they profit from. We were not made aware of this addition, we did not want this addition and trying to resolve the issue with the company was unsuccessful. Their registry does have gift cards for other websites, I asked them to make an exchange after they told me they added it to my registry without my knowledge. They declined.Business Response

The Knot Registry gift cards are now available for members to opt in/out, but are not automatically shown to guests without the member first adding these to their registry. These gift card balances are not transferable to gift cards for other brands, however, we have notified the user that their guest has been refunded so that they may place a new order for a more desirable gift. This user is also welcome to keep the current gift and use as they see fit as a courtesy.Initial Complaint

On 8/10/23 I received a call from WeddingPro representative, **** Rivero, to talk about becoming a vendor on The Knot and Wedding Wire. After 40 minutes talking about their company, we finally got to pricing. I am a new wedding photographer who had only worked 3 weddings prior, but I am also a 20 y/o college student with no job. I told them this several times, yet they still said my business would be a great fit. She asked me how many weddings I would like to book by the end of the year and I said 10-15 would be phenomenal, she said that would be super easy to accomplish and that we could totally do it. Then she asked me the same for the next year and again I said anywhere from 40-60 weddings and again, she said that was doable. The original pricing for this was over $600/a month and I said there was no way I could do that. **** then talked to her manager and got the price down to $333/month, and again I was still extremely hesitant and told her I couldn't do it. Her response was: yes you are paying $333 a month, but if you land a $2,000 wedding gig, that will pay for it. Under false pretenses, I bought what she said. I agreed to sign up and have now paid over $1,600 and struggling to even pay for necessities without worry about the cost. I was naive to think that this was a good business and a good choice in expanding my business. I now have realized I was taken advantage of and that her main concern with signing me up with their subscription was to make her commission. I have only received 6 leads in 5 months. In Oct, I received 3 leads, one was spam and the other two never responded to me, that's how all my leads have been. They send a message, I respond within hours, and then nothing, they are also all eerily similar in the way they're phrased. So far, all they have wanted to do is have a "Strategy Session" to "optimize [my] storefront." I would like to cancel my subscription and cut my losses. I am not looking for a refund or reduction in my monthly billing.Business Response

11/20/2020 I added a paid membership profile to Wedding Wire to promote my wedding DJ service. On 10/17/2021 I fulfilled and paid in full my contract while my vendor profile remained active on their website. Not long after 10/17/2021 I took a break from this role and did not actively promote my DJ service or monitor profiles like those I placed on Wedding Wire. In the first week of December 2023 I renewed my interest in doing DJ services so I logged onto Wedding Wire's site and was flabbergasted to discover that 3 absolutely libelous and blatantly false reviews were made there by someone(s) that have never engaged with my DJ service whatsoever. Naturally I immediately contacted the website and politely yet firmly requested that these be taken down because they obviously violate Wedding Wire's very own criteria for placing and maintaining reviews on a vendor profile which are as follows: "Reasons for disputing a review: - I never conducted business with this person. - Contains profane, vulgar, racist, or adult material. - A court ruling has been issued to remove this review. - Contains personally identifiable information such as full names, date of birth, personal address, email addresses, etc. - This review is not about a wedding or wedding related event. - Duplicate of another review." Shockingly, the company representative replied that because a year has past since they have been posted they refuse to remove them even though they clearly are libelous and false garbage. Their response was: "Thank you for your email about your concerns regarding the reviews from ***, ******, and ******. I acknowledge that reviews are a vital part of your business and we appreciate you expressing your concern regarding this, however, our policy linked here states that any review over 12 months old is not disputable because we don’t expect yourself or the reviewer to retain documentation beyond that timeframe."Business Response

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The response that this customer has received from our Policy Team is correct. Our policy states that we are unable to remove reviews from over one year ago. "Invalid dispute reasons include examples such as: Reviews written over 12 months ago. We don’t expect the wedding pro or the reviewer to retain documentation beyond that timeframe." Signed up for 12 month plan on the notion that I was going to start receiving leads for my photography business in terms of weddings. Started in July of 2023. It is currently November and I have yet to receive a single lead. I have paid them $293 a month and have gotten nothing. I realized the message so have received were all computer bots. All of them shared the exact same wording. None of them ever responded.Business Response

9/15/2023 I attempted to have more leads through this service. I have leads however, it is very strange that the people never respond back. It appears to be ghosting. With this said, I happen to believe the employees of the company are making up leads to make it appear as if I am having usage of their web portal or that I am receiving leads. It is very deceitful business practices. When I text the leads they ghost me as well. It is all consistent. Therefore, when I compare apples to oranges as I have a personal web portal and I receive a lead they respond or at least correspond with me whereas, with the wedding knot/wedding pro/wedding wire (they have all three names) noone corresponds with me. It is a big scam for 167.00 monthly. Oh and they hostage my credit card I can not delete it. I have several emails where I have requested to delete my credit card information they do not do this. I had to go through my credit card company to block them. Also, this company forces you to sign a 12 month contract. The marketing sceme is, they tell you "it takes this long for clients to get familiar with you" This is BS when the clients are ghosting and made up. Please check into this business it is unfair business practices and a huge scam! Why are they in business when there are so many complaints on the BBB? I hope to hear back from you on this matter. Please note, I have lots of leads for the two months however, no correspondence, ghosting on both email and texting and no business from any lead provided. I would like to cancel and refunded. Thank you in advance. I can provide all the emails correspondence with them where I have tried to cancel services, refunded and delete my credit card on their portal. No success therefore asking for your assistance, please.Customer Answer

Yes, since my last complaint filed I decided to contact two of the potential customers who have been "ghosting me" to ask why they do not answer me and if they knew I am a weight loss program? When both, replied they appologize and said, "sorry I thought you were a hair stylst." They both, said that I am listed under "hair products." I then contacted the company via their sales rep who does nothing most of the time. I believe she works on commision and this is commission for her so she tries not to lose my business however, when I mentioned this about the wrong category she and the company have done nothing to change this. I happen to believe that the sales rep knew this the entire time but yet decided to sign me up regardless, of knowing their would be NO CORRECT category for me as a weight loss business. I can not change the category as this has to come from the website IT personal or someone who does all their webportal things. I was wondering why nothing like this experience has ever happened and when I compared to this service with my own organic personal business website I do NOT experience any of this and NOT paying 165.00 a month for NOTHING. I was glad to hear finally from people what the actual problem was because I sure was not receiving this from Wedding Knot. They were ignoring me. I do have several emails going back and forth for them to investigate this matter however they never did instead the problem came straight from potential customers who replied " you are in the hair product category we thought you were a hair stylst." And I am far from that. Please resolve this issue with Wedding Knot. Thank you ********************************;Business Response

Of course it is obvious that I am on a contract. And this is the problem. They put me on a contract promising me that I would have clients. It is NOT SPAM the problem is, I will repeat the problem is, they have me under "hair stylyst" category AND I am NOT a hairstylst I AM a WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM. The problem I Will repeat, The problem is "I AM IN THE WRONG CATEGORY" this is why I have no customers AND THE KNOT WONT CHANGE IT TO CORRECT IT. The reason why they wont change it, is because they have no such category for a "weight loss business" but yet they signed me up and took my money and automatically put me on a contract. The contract is invalid because they did not meet their business responsibility. I have written many emails about this to change me to a correct category where customers can find me and they do not do this change. I refuse to pay money to a scammer and an eligitimate business that has no scruples! In fact, I did not find out about being in the wrong category (of which I can not change) from THE KNOT CORP I found out from potential customers who contacted me thinking I was a hairstyles and I asked them. They are the ones who notified me to tell me I am in the "hair stylest category." Since I signed up I have not one paid customer, not one! This company is deceitful and I will take them to court if needed. I will be writing my state general next since I am not getting a positive or admit to my mistake from The Knot Corp. I WILL take the next steps if needed. And this will not be a problem for me to go this next route. Trust me, this is the first company that took me for a fool. Well they were completely wrong. And I also have my credit card going after their unscrupulous business behavior. In fact, I will start the state attorney general complaint against the knot corp this coming week.

I called in January 2023 sometime about advertising with wedding pro for my mobile massage business. I was hesitant because I was new to the wedding industry and wasn't sure if this site would work for me as there were no mobile massage businesses listed in the Knot or on Wedding Wire. The sales woman was pushy and knocked the price down from $600 to $231 per month. I was never told verbally this was an enforceable annual contract I couldn't get out of under any circumstances. I signed the contract without reading or understanding it was an annual contract and I have been trying to get out of it since March 2023. I have received dozens of fake inquiries and have not booked one client through their advertisement. I came to them several times saying there is no category for massage and my business gets lost in the mix under all the other "spa" businesses of makeup and hair and they have not made any changes. This company is predatory and lies to their vendor customers. I don't believe any of the inquiries I received are real. I have asked many times to have my contract reviewed for cancellation and ***** has helped me. I can't even leave a ****** review warning other vendors because they have no ****** listing. This business is a scam. This is a class action law suit waiting to happen. The contract was sent to me in an email and the font was so small I couldn't even read it.Business Response

This customer signed up on 2/8/23 for premium listings on WeddingWire and The Knot for a 12 month agreement. All of our listings are for an initial 12 month term to ensure that each business has the opportunity to maximize their potential return on investment throughout a complete wedding cycle. We do not guarantee any level of performance with the purchase of a premium listing, however we do provide a dedicated team to help advertisers capitalize on their membership with us.

There was a review left on WeddingWire, which is one of The Knot Worldwide brands, on my personal business account that negatively impacted my business rating. However, this review has nothing to do with my personal photography business, it's pertaining with ****** ****** ***** and ***** (part of ***** photo group) with which I work occasionally. WeddingWire refuses to delete it or transfer to ****** ****** reviews. Thus the review is irrelevant to my business, since it about another business services. I have a screenshot attached from ****** ****** ******************* confirming it.Business Response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my deep concern and dissatisfaction with the handling of a complaint I filed against a review left under my personal business page on your platform. The review in question is inaccurate and misleading, as the individual who posted it did not deal directly with me, but with ****** ************** and also the contract was signed to ****** ************** not with ******* ****** ****** *********** .
I have previously explained this situation to your company via phone and email, and even provided an email from ****** ************** confirming the facts. Despite this, your company has refused to take down the review, citing a policy that does not apply in this case. The review was not about my personal business, but about a service provided by third party ****** **************.
Your insistence on maintaining this review, despite clear evidence that it is based on false information, is not only damaging to my business reputation but also appears to be a case of defamation. I find no justification for your company's decision to share false information about my business and defame my personal account, whether this is due to discrimination or ignorance of the law.
This case is based on incorrect information and a misunderstanding of the business owner involved, making your policy irrelevant in this situation. Your refusal to resolve this matter is deeply concerning and may lead to an escalation of this issue.
I am requesting that you immediately remove the inaccurate review from my business page and issue a formal apology for the distress and damage this has caused to my business reputation. If you continue to ignore this issue, I will have no choice but to seek legal advice and potentially pursue a defamation lawsuit.
I hope that it does not come to this, and that we can resolve this issue amicably. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution to this matter.
Yours sincerely,
Regards,
******* **************
