1 starAbout a year ago, we signed up for Nexamp and canceled it because we felt it wasn't saving us any money. Then, in November out of the blue, we started receiving bills again. We never signed back up. Who authorized putting us back on your service? We called your company immediately, and they said they would cancel it, but we keep receiving bills with added monthly fees. This is just not right. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of and would appreciate someone to take care of this matter. Scam - most definitelyNexamp

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback and candid review. While we acknowledge your decision to cancel your account with **********************, it's important for us to address the specific issues you've raised. Our aim is to provide comprehensive answers that will help clarify any doubts and resolve the concerns you've highlighted.
According to our records, we enrolled you in Nexamp's program before your solar farm's construction was complete to secure your spot. Our aim is to ensure clear communication throughout the project, from enrollment to completion. While delays can happen, we are committed to providing timely updates. You should have received project status notifications via email and mail, but we apologize if that was not made clear. Additionally, there is no record of your initial cancelation request prior to receiving your first invoice from Nexamp in November.
As stated in our contract, cancelation must be requested and will be marked on your account on the date the request is made and fully processed within 90-days' notice. This is because we must send updated customer lists monthly to the utility. Once they receive the list with the request to remove your account from our ********************** farm, it can take 1-2 billing cycles for them to make the adjustment in their system. While this process takes place, you will continue to receive solar energy credits that reduce your electricity costs, as well as your allotted 15% discount on those credits. Our team works hard to make sure this information is disclosed to you at the time of signing up, as well as stated in your agreement.
We also want to assure you that Nexamp is not a scam, but rather a veteran-founded company deeply committed to helping people decarbonize their lives and save money in the process. Our operations span multiple states, and we're proud to have assisted tens of thousands of customers in reducing their electricity bills each month.
We apologize if our service didn't meet your expectations. To understand and address your concerns, we'll be contacting you directly. We thank you for your attention to this matter.

1 starI agree with the reviews claiming this is a scam. They claim it's free to cancel and sure, but they keep on billing you multiple cycles after cancelling and the rates go sky high. To put it into perspective, my nexamp bills were more than my national fuel and i barely saved any money. How it was explained to me is not how it goes. Incredibly dissapointed, do not sign up, save yourself the hassle. Nexamp charges me $170 a month and i might save $5 on my national grid bill. It's madness.Nexamp

Hello *******,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you are facing and can certainly do our best to help.
Please note that enrolling in our program was free, and the 10% discount that we offer is our commitment to helping customers save as much as possible and support local renewable energy. As a Nexamp community solar subscriber, you have a share of one of our solar projects which is generating clean energy directly into the grid. Your utility will apply a reduction to the amount due on your usage costs based on the amount of solar energy your share has produced each month. These reductions that offset your usage costs are what we call solar energy credits. Your utility will still issue you a bill each month for the electricity you use, but it will be reduced by the value of the Nexamp community solar credits that were generated. Any invoice you receive from Nexamp is for solar energy credits that have been applied to your account and used towards your electricity costs, but at a 10% discount. All this information was disclosed to you at the time of signing up and stated in your agreement. It is also important to note that Nexamp bills our services in arrears, so there is always a delay between when you see credits on your National Grid account and when we bill you. This is because we are waiting for confirmation from the utility that credits have been placed on your account.
Regarding cancelation, as outlined in the Early Termination section of your contract, the process can take up to 90 days. During this period, youll continue to receive and be billed for solar credits used until your account is fully updated. Nexamp does not charge any cancelation fees and you will continue to save on your electricity bills until your cancelation is completed.
As a veteran-founded business operating across numerous states, we are committed to helping thousands save on electricity bills. We also will contact you personally to discuss your concerns and clarify what to expect moving forward.
Thank you for your time as a Nexamp subscriber.

5 starsI signed up for Nexamp about a year ago. Once my solar farm was live my utility bill from Eversource immediately went down. It is great to save money and support the mission of clean energy. I have interacted with the customer service team a few times and they have always been patient with my questions. They walked me through setting up my payment method and explaining how community solar works. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Nexamp.Nexamp

1 star- cancelled 3 months ago and was told to expect bills for at least 5 months after cancellation - rates tripled with no notice - their billing system is NOT transparent; no notice of rate hike; switch you from paper to paperless statements with no warning I will say, their customer service representatives were incredible. They were calm and professional, but I suspect that is from the frequency they have in dealing with complaints. If you want to do something for the environment, I'd recommend planting a tree. This "solar farm" is a straight up disaster.Nexamp

Hello *******,
Thank you for your feedback. Let us first start by apologizing that you have had a poor experience with our organization. We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional customer experience and we take feedback from our customers seriously. We appreciate you reaching out and explaining your circumstances and hope the details below can help you move forward.
At Nexamp, we follow a 90-day timeline for cancelations with Central *********** (CMP) customers. This is because CMP processes these requests on a monthly basis, and it may take up to two months after receiving your cancelation for them to completely remove our services from your account and stop applying credits. We ensure this process and timeline are clearly stated in our agreements, advising customers to anticipate a three-month period for the full cancelation process.
Regarding our invoices, it is important to note that Nexamp bills our services in arrears, so there is always a delay between when you see credits on your CMP account and when we bill you. This is because we are waiting for confirmation from the utility that credits have been placed on your account. This explains why you received and paid Nexamp invoices after your cancelation request date. Please remember that every credit that was placed on your utility account was provided to you at a 15% discount. Additionally, in regard to your statement of paperless billing, you should have received your first Nexamp invoice via email and physical mail. Within that physical copy, there was also a notice that said this would be your only paper invoice unless otherwise requested. Most of our customers prefer paperless billing, and it better aligns with our sustainability efforts.
Aside from increased solar production, you may have noticed higher electricity rates with CMP as well. Unfortunately, this is not something Nexamp controls. Since your utility is the one to value and apply the kWh offsets to your bill, Nexamp does not charge a fixed rate per kWh for your electricity. Instead, we match the value of the credits that were used to offset your existing utility bill, and then apply a discount which provides our typical customer with net savings. The higher valued solar production has resulted in the negative balance you have accrued with the utility. You will be able to use this excess to offset your usage costs in months when our credits dont cover all of your electricity costs. If there are higher than normal invoices, our team is certainly willing to work with you on a payment plan that fits each customers needs if needed.
With this said, your account has been officially canceled with Nexamp, and your balance is up to date. You will no longer receive solar credits on your CMP bills and corresponding Nexamp invoices. There is no further action needed on your part. Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are committed to continuously enhancing our customer experience.

1 starComplete scam...I never saw benefits on my electric bill. They sent emails saying my account was past due when I paid in advance of the due date. DO NOT sign up for this program it nothing but a money drain and I'm not even positive my money went to support solar power at this point.Nexamp

Hello *******,
Thank you for your feedback. Let us first start by apologizing that you have had a poor experience with our organization.
While we understand that you have canceled your account with us, we want to address the specifics of your review in the hopes that these answers provide you with the details you need to fully resolve your questions and concerns.
To start, Nexamp does not generate bills until we receive confirmation from your utility (Commonwealth ******* that the credits have been applied to your account. Every month your portion of the solar farm was able to generate and provide clean energy back to the grid, and for this you always received a discount from what was produced. As a reminder, these credits are listed under the ******************* Supply Details section of your bill which reduces what you owe to the utility. We feel confident that you have received the solar energy credits as displayed on our Nexamp invoices (which are discounted by 20%), however if you need, we would be happy to review a copy of your utility bill.
Nexamp is a veteran-founded business committed to helping people decarbonize their lives. We operate in numerous states and help tens of thousands of customers save money on their electricity bills every month. We are committed to providing the best service possible for all our customers; therefore, we will reach out to you personally to further discuss your account as well as the concerns you brought up.
Thank you for your time as a Nexamp community solar subscriber.Review fromRandy B

1 starI was told that if I signed up for solar energy that my bill would get credits from this program. They did not tell me that I would have to pay them for these credits. They start billing you monthly along with your National Grid bill so instead of one bill it is the same amount just separate bills. Beware they also tell you it takes 90 days for them to cancel their service. I called National Grid myself to cancel them.Nexamp

Hello *****,
Thank you for writing in. We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you are facing and can certainly do our best to help.
We understand that you have canceled your account with us, but we want to address the specifics of your complaint in the hopes that these answers provide you with the details you need to fully resolve your questions and concerns with Nexamp.
As a Nexamp community solar subscriber, you have a share of one of our solar projects which is generating clean energy directly into the grid. Your utility, National Grid, will apply a reduction to the amount due on your usage costs based on the amount of solar energy your share has produced each month. These reductions that offset your usage costs are what we call solar energy credits. National Grid will still issue you a bill each month for the electricity you use, but it will be reduced by the value of the Nexamp community solar credits that were generated. Nexamp will then invoice you separately for the value of the community solar credits you have used, but at a 10% discount. All of this information is disclosed to you at the time of signing up, as well as stated in your agreement.
Your solar credits will be listed as a CDG Credit Applied to This ****. This reduction is located in both the ******** Services and Other Charges / Adjustmentssections of your National Grid bill. Please note that your credit amounts will vary monthly.
As for your cancelation, when you request to do so with Nexamp, we process that cancelation immediately. However, in ********, when you cancel with a community solar provider like Nexamp, National Grid has up to 90 days to remove you from their systems. During that 90-day window you can still receive solar energy credits that reduce your National Grid bill. It is also important to note that Nexamp bills our services in arrears, so there is always a delay between when you see credits on your utility account and when we bill you. This explains why you will receive Nexamp invoices after your cancelation request date. Whether it be to adjust subscription sizes on our farm or process cancelation requests, the process is not immediate, and it is referenced in the contract you signed with Nexamp.
We hope the details above help address the concerns you raised in your review. Were sorry that we have lost you as a customer.

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
When you first signed up with our program, we analyzed your usage and electricity costs to estimate a share size on our solar farm that should cover close to 90% of your CMP costs for the year. In order to cover these costs, it is typical for our customers to produce more credits than what they need in the summer months when days are long and sunny, to still substantially reduce their utility costs in the winter when solar energy production is less. The excess credits that are generated in the summer months will remain on your CMP account and will be used during those months where your usage is greater than the energy credits generated by the solar farm. Due to the fluctuation in our solar production throughout the year, we recommend that you view your savings on an annual basis rather than monthly.
If at any point you feel that you are receiving too many solar credits for your needs throughout the year, our team is certainly willing to help. This could be due to your electricity patterns changing compared to when you first joined Nexamp. In these instances, we would simply need to review your annual electricity usage patterns and rates to determine if any adjustments need to be made. We would then work with your utility to make an update to your share size on our solar farm to best fit your needs. We are always trying to ensure our customers can maximize their savings through our program.
While we hope the information above can help address the concerns you raised, we will reach out to you personally to see if there is anything else needed.
Thank you for your time as a Nexamp community solar subscriber.

5 starsSigning up with them was easy, we were initially on the waiting list and then we got on. Logging onto their website is easy and it is easy to find everything you need. The company emails me monthly about the bill, as well as anything else I need to know (communication from their end is great). There have been no discrepancies with the bills at all-they deal with National Grid for me and that's the nicest part. I've never had to contact customer service because they've been so great to deal with and answer any questions I do have on their website. I don't see why more people don't use them!Nexamp

2 starsBuyer Beware - this service is good for saving some money in the long haul, so it is good for someone who plans on staying put for a long time. The contract takes a very long time to get out of. They tell you that you can opt out, but you have to plan for it up to a year in advance. Nexamp will continue creating and billing you for solar credits long after you cancel. This is not very clear in the contract you'll sign. They also tend to over-credit you (i.e. charge you for $400 in credits when you only use $200 in electricity) so you will have a large credit balance with your utility company that will take a long time to burn down, and there is NO REFUND for these credits. That is also not clear in the contract. I lost about $1000 in credits I paid Nexamp for but could not use because I closed my utility account (I moved), and then I continued to get bills for more new credits I couldn't use for months to come. Again, there is NO REFUND on credits, your *************** apparently gets to keep them if you close your account. Also, ********************** sales people will tell you that you can cancel with 90 day notice, but in MA it is actually 120 days, and even then you still need to burn off all the excess credits they over-billed you for. If you are even thinking of moving within a year, you should cancel immediately so you have ****** days to actually stop accumulating (and paying for) credits, and then another number of months to actually burn off all the excess credits sitting in your utility account before you close your account. All of those caveats should be clearly called out in the contract, but they are not, so many people are taken by surprise when they go to close their account and find out they can't get back the money they paid in but can't use, and have to still keep paying for new credits even though they can't use them either. Again, Buyer Beware!Nexamp

Hello ***,
Thank you for your thoughts. We appreciate you reaching out and explaining your circumstances, and hope the details provided below can help you move forward.?
When you first signed up with our program, we analyzed your usage and electricity costs to estimate a share size on our solar farm that should cover close to 90% of your electrical costs for the year. To cover these costs, it is typical for our customers to produce more credits than what they need in the summer months when days are long and sunny, to reduce their utility costs still substantially in the winter when solar energy production is less. The excess credits that are generated in the summer months will remain on your Unitil account and will be used during those months where your usage is greater than the energy credits generated by the solar farm.
Since Nexamp does not have direct access to view if you have excess credits with your utility, we strongly recommend that you monitor what your credit bank is and if you do feel it is too high, to reach out to us so we can reanalyze your share size so you can generate fewer new credits and utilize your excess credits more quickly.
As for the timeline to adjust customers accounts, we are limited to 4 submissions to the utility a year per the programs regulations. These are submitted each quarter so that there is a consistent schedule to make changes for our thousands of customers. Whether it be to adjust subscription sizes on our farm or process cancelation requests, the process is not immediate, and it is referenced in the contract you signed with Nexamp.?It is also important to note that Nexamp bills our services in arrears, so there is always a delay between when you see credits on your Unitil account and when we bill you. This explains why you received and paid Nexamp invoices after your cancelation request date.???
Regarding the excess solar credits that you had on your utility account at the time of your move, we are willing to work with you to find a solution that works for both parties. While it is out of Nexamps control to determine what your utility can do with those credits, we are continuing to advocate on our customers behalf to create more customer-friendly regulations in the future. To assist with your specific concerns, we will reach out to you to learn more.
We appreciate your time as a Nexamp subscriber and look forward to assisting your needs moving forward.
