2 starsWhile I do agree with many of these reviews, I will not shame the company. I simply disagree with how finances are handled and choose to separate my personal business with them. Perhaps someone with greater internal knowledge may have a different opinion, but I deal with the personal facts. While the first two months seemed fine, getting a smaller bill from CMP and a separate bill from Nexamp to total just a little bit less (maybe 2% tops), but after two months it tripled, where I would simply be paying less staying with CMP directly. Now I do agree with taking steps towards using solar energy, I do not think Nexamp is the best company to take that direction. The only reason I gave them two stars is because when I canceled my subscription they replied promptly and directly. Otherwise it would have been just one.Nexamp

Hello *******,
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you explaining your circumstances and hope the details below can help you move forward.
When you first joined our program, we tailored your share of our solar farm to cover approximately 90% of your annual electricity costs based on your initial usage data. It is important to note that solar energy production varies with the seasons typically generating more credits during sunnier months and fewer in the winter. This natural fluctuation is why we recommend evaluating your savings annually rather than monthly.Any excess credits accumulated from the sunnier months are stored in your CMP account to help offset your electricity costs in other months as needed. As a reminder, no matter how many solar credits are produced in a month, you will always receive a 15% discount.
If your energy needs have changed or you feel the savings are insufficient, our team is always willing to conduct a reassessment of your usage and adjust your share accordingly. While we are sorry to see you go, you can reach our support team with any remaining questions at ************ or ********************************* We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM 6:00 PM EST.Review fromRonald F

Hi ******,
Thank you for your feedback. We understand there may have been some confusion regarding how billing and credits work within our program, and we're here to clarify and ensure you have all the information you need.
Nexamp operates with a commitment to ensure our customers can save on their electricity bills, while also supporting local clean energy. We calculate your invoice based on the standard rate set by your utility, and any credits generated from your share of our solar farm are applied in full to your utility bill. This system is designed to provide you with savings, as the invoice you receive from us will reflect your discount on these credits.
We appreciate the opportunity to explain how our program works and how we determine the charges on your invoice. Your account has been canceled and you have not received an invoice since December of 2023, which falls in line with the original cancelation timeline provided to you via email and in the contract you signed with Nexamp. The notices you received were from our automated payment system notifying you there was an open balance remaining on your account.
We will reach out privately to provide full account details as well as our resolution to your concerns and overall account status.

I have tried to contact you with no response by email or by phone. Trying to quit your service!!Nexamp

Hi ******,
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We understand it can be confusing to see discrepancies between what you've paid and what you've used at certain times of the year. At Nexamp, our billing is based on the solar generation of your share of our solar farm and not your actual usage. This means that there are times, particularly during the sunnier months, when your share generates more electricity than you use. The excess isn't lost; it accumulates as credits in your account. These credits are then used to offset your bills during periods of lower solar production, ensuring you still save over the course of the year.
We acknowledge that this aspect of the program might lead to moments when it seems like you're paying more upfront. With that said, we try to offset the large majority of your utility costs throughout the year and offer a 10% discount allowing you to maximize your savings year-round. With our program, your utility bills should naturally be less than what you pay Nexamp in return, since our credits are reducing what you owe back to Delmarva.
We do recommend that any customer who feels they are generating too many credits, can always request for someone to reanalyze your usage, so that we can ensure you have the proper allocation size. We do apologize if this opportunity was not offered to you during your time communicating with us.
Our records indicate that you were able to get in touch with our support team regarding your concerns as well as ultimately your cancelation request. Please rest assured that we're currently in the process of adhering to the cancelation timeline outlined in our policies. This process is designed to ensure a smooth transition for you and to comply with the necessary administrative steps.
If you have any more questions, need further clarifications, or require additional assistance during this time, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to make your experience with Nexamp as positive and beneficial as possible.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

1 starSo, as an example, Nexamp charges maybe $100./ month for credits purchased that might get ** $10./month off utility bill. Heavy additional cost to **! Two ******** rather than one. Literature is vague/nonspecific/deceptive on how this all works. Avoids clarity on what customer pays. The utility apparently wont allow these transactions out of their office. If it benefitted customer youd think they would. Agree ********************** feels like a scam! Zero stars!Nexamp

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. Let us first start by apologizing that you have had a poor experience with our organization. We're eager to share more information to address your concerns effectively.
To begin, in your utility territory, Nexamp charges for solar energy credits only after theyre applied to reduce your electricity costs. This process ensures you never pay more than necessary, with every Nexamp invoice reflecting a 10% discount on the solar credits that were applied to your utility bills. We prioritize transparency and accuracy, and do not generate invoices until we receive confirmation from your utility that credits have been applied to your account. This should allow you to see noticeable cost reductions on your end.
While we strive to provide comprehensive information through our online ************ we recognize the value of direct communication. Therefore, we will reach out to you personally to gain a deeper understanding of your specific concerns and collaboratively identify a satisfactory solution.

1 starBack in 10/2023, I received a bill in the mail from Nexamp, not knowing what it was. Looked through my *************** find anything at all. So I gave a call to the number on the bill to further investigate. Found out it was a solar farm company, they confirmed emails were going to an old email address no longer in use. They also informed me that my account stemmed from an INQUIRY I had made back in 2020. Which I thought was bizarre. Usually an inquiry is looking for more information on something, not an agreement to an account or to do business with. Cancelled my account with them ASAP. I did have a balance with them, still have yet to pay it. Received another email from them recently (3/5/24) on my old email stating that they are preparing to send my balance to collections (which Im perfectly okay with because this whole experience has been SKETCHY). I did some more research & looked at reviews on BBB where Im seeing A LOT of similar experiences and it seems as though a common response from Nexamp has been we have a signed contract on file. Which got me thinking. I went on my old email again and searched for any Nexamp emails. Went to the oldest one received and saw a contract was attached, which. if I just inquired, never heard back from anyone until this bill was received, where did this contract come from. Scrolled to the bottom of the contract to find IT WAS NOT EVEN MY HUSBANDS SIGNATURE. Looked absolutely nothing like it. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD. We will continue down the path of not paying this balance. We NEVER made an agreement. We NEVER signed a contract ourselves. And we NEVER even knew this switch from CMP to Nexamp was even happening until we received a bill. I dont know how a business can get away with practices like these. Absolutely mindblowing and they should 100% be held accountable. SIGNING SOMEONE ELSES NAME WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE IS ****************Nexamp

Hello,
We sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration this situation has caused. Nexamp values integrity and transparency, and we welcome the chance to share more information about your experience.
Regarding the issue of the electronic signature, it's important to clarify that Nexamp, like many companies, utilizes DocuSign for electronic signatures, which is a widely accepted and legally valid method for securing agreements. Electronic signatures are designed to provide the same legal standing as handwritten signatures, as per state laws. Nexamp aims to ensure that our customers have a clear understanding of the program they are enrolling, and we regret any oversight that led to your unexpected bill. The process from inquiry to account creation typically involves clear communication of your utility account information and consent, and we are sorry if you feel that this was not your experience.
Regarding your concerns about the contract and signature, we take allegations of fraud and forgery very seriously. We would like to investigate this matter further to understand what occurred in your specific case. It's crucial for us to address any discrepancies and ensure that all our practices are fair and honest.
Given the nature of your concerns, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to connect directly and discuss a resolution. We are committed to providing clarity on the situation and will contact you directly for more information. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we look forward to speaking with you.

1 starI agree with many of the reviews. I explained to them many months ago to cancel whatever account they had for me Quite frankly, the sign-up process , that time, was confusing. My BG&E showed no indication Nexamp was added to my account. I paid, what I though was my final balance, however many months later, I am still receiving another final balance. There is definitely some wrong with the way they do business.Nexamp

Hello *******,
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience youve encountered and are here to support you through this.
Please be reminded that we honor cancelation requests in our system as of the date they are made. To proceed with a cancelation, you must directly contact Nexamp via phone or email, enabling us to update the cancelation on your account. As outlined in our contract, the cancelation process can take up to 90 days. This timeframe is necessary for coordinating with the utility for updates. Please also keep in mind that our invoices arrive in arrears, meaning that you will likely receive Nexamp invoices after your original cancelation request. However, the bills will only be for credits generated during the cancelation process.
You can find credits from Nexamp listed on your utility bill in the Other Charges and Credits section, listed as a Community Solar Adjustment. To match credits on your BG&E bills to credits on your Nexamp invoice, please refer to the production period date on the invoice. Nexamp does not generate bills until we receive confirmation from your utility that the credits have been applied to your account. Therefore, we feel confident that you have received discounted solar energy credits as displayed on our Nexamp invoices.
Our team will be in touch directly to understand and address your specific issues more comprehensively. We are committed to providing the best service possible for all our customers and apologize if we didnt meet your expectations.

1 starHello, I have wasted considerable time corresponding with Nexamp since I started 1 year ago. They are charging me 125% more than when I went directly to CMP (Maine), then applying 15% discount, so 110% more. The reason is my expected usage was too high at the beginning. Nexamp set this value much too high, resulting in my average bill, after their 15% discount, of $210. I have averaged under $100/month while at CMP. Nexamp claimed back in September that they would reduce my allocation from "8.5 kW **" to 0.5 kW until the discrepancy balances. Since then I contact them every month and they keep saying CMP takes up to, now much over, 90 days to make this keystroke change. I have contacted CMP at the end of December and all they could say was my allocation is the 8.5 kW ** number and I should talk to Nexamp. It is very hard to believe Nexamp and CMP are unable to resolve what is likely a very common problem. See my last Invoice #: INV01724080 ***********************Nexamp

Hello *****,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're genuinely sorry to hear about the concerns you've experienced and appreciate the opportunity to address them. We understand your frustration and want to assure you that the allocation change you discussed with our representative has been successfully submitted to CMP. We value your time and partnership with Nexamp and are dedicated to ensuring a positive outcome.

5 starsIm not currently a customer, Im in the research/thought stage. Ive been reading reviews, and Im observing what seems to be a real lack of and mis-understanding abt how this process works. First, its not simply about saving money such as choosing a diff supplier. This is abt investing on multiple levels ($, moral, time, personal) in the creation and running, of a solar farm - ultimate goal being creation of *clean energy*, a benefit ideally being some savings (think, investing in a new building for tax credits later on). If someone is simply looking for minimal-effort savings in electric costs theyd do best comparing diff suppliers for the lowest rates. This program is abt more than just switching suppliers, and thats why it seems best for ppl who want to take on the *commitment* of clean energy creation. Commitment doesnt come w out effort (kinda the whole point), and I think some customers might be *feeling* scammed (while not), and many misunderstanding the INTENT, and intricacies of the set up/process, and the larger goals because theyre joining for the savings, not necessarily the environmental commitment. Very simply put, u will likely be happy if u joined for a solid commitment to clean energy and understand all that it means (your share of the burden), w an ideal secondary benefit of savings; whereas, if u saw an ad focused on savings, and that is ur main concern, along w low maintenance/involvement energy, *not* understanding the actual commitment and (positive) burden of sharing in the responsibility of creating said energythen u may find urself surprised and less than satisfied, because simply low cost/low commitment/effort energy isnt how it worksSeems like some people are joining from a backward perspective. It also helps to inform yourself. Am I understanding correctly? Simplex10-I help PAY for the clean energy creation, therefore I use it, and get a discount for my investment, w the commitment being to CLEAN ENERGY not JUST savingsNexamp

Hello *****,
Thank you for your feedback. We're dedicated to providing excellent service and apologize for not meeting your expectations.
In order to sign up for Nexamps service, customers need to provide us with their utility information, and to sign a contract. We, like many companies, utilize an electronic signature tool (*************************) that is used by millions of companies worldwide. If you are unfamiliar with DocuSign, they are widely regarded as the standard for electronic signatures, with more than a million customers and a billion users. When a customer signs the ********************** contract using DocuSign, the system takes what the customer types and makes it look like a cursive signature. As a reminder, customers that sign up with Nexamp pay no fees to join our program and we are confident that this was a legitimate agreement. A copy of such was emailed to you within the correspondence you had with our team on 12/8/2023.
When you sign a contract with Nexamp, we sometimes do so prior to our solar farm going live in order to reserve your spot. Unfortunately, the solar farm you had originally been assigned to had significant delays that impacted all the states developers as CMP conducted utility grid studies. While the delay took longer than expected, our team worked hard to send several communications to you throughout the construction and onboarding process so that you could stay informed about your subscription status and upcoming Nexamp invoices. These notices were sent to the email we have on file, but we apologize if this was not made clear to you.
As for how our program works, Nexamp is not your energy provider. You continue to receive your electricity through CMP, but your bill to them is reduced by the value of the community solar credits you receive from Nexamp. We provide those credits to you at a 15% discount, so for example, $100 in credits only costs you $85. The first invoice you received on November 29th, 2023, covered the solar energy our farm generated in October 2023. To keep you informed, we also sent a detailed insert about our program with this billing.
Nexamp is a trustworthy operation, providing monthly savings to tens of thousands across various states. We are committed to ensuring that all subscribers understand the benefits of our program and are here to assist as needed. While we apologize for any confusion you may be experiencing regarding your Nexamp account, we will reach out to you directly in order to assist.

1 starI tried to leave no starts for this business. Horrible!!- just like everyone else is saying. There is absolutely no savings between my electric bill from national grid and on top of it having to pay Nexamp. I wasted so much money. Their billing system is horrendous! There is no excuse. Every other business bills the same or the next month. You only get bills every few months and never know when it coming or how much it will be. It shouldnt be that hard to have a regular monthly billing in place. Not to mention there should only be one bill for energy use, not two! Then I finally canceled it after realizing I was probably losing money, I kept receiving bills the rest of the year. I just received yet another bill for dates after I canceled and naturally they somewhere in fine print that they can take up to 90 to cancel so I have to pay for time after I canceled. This is absolute terrible business, terrible customer service, terrible service. If it takes that long to cancel - its a bad system that needs to work better before providing services! Im horrified and disgusted with their service.Nexamp

Hello ********,
Thank you for your feedback. Let us first start by apologizing that you have had a poor experience with our organization, and we will do our best to explain your situation.
In general, Nexamp typically bills around 1-2 billing cycles in arrears from when solar credits get applied to your utility costs. However, due to data delays and discrepancies with National Grid, we recently were delayed in invoicing customers on your project. We understand that this is not the ideal experience, but we always want to ensure we are billing customers accurately. To stay transparent about the situation, we sent communications along with the invoice but apologize that you did not receive the support we strive to provide.
Despite the delays, your savings through our program remained consistent. In ********, we charge only for the solar credits that reduce your utility costs, offering them at a 10% discount. This ensures that, despite the natural variation in solar production, you're only billed for the credits applied to your National Grid bill. By reviewing the credit amounts and production periods on your Nexamp invoices, you'll find they correspond with your utility charges, promoting transparency and ongoing savings, even if the dates don't align perfectly.
As for cancelations, they can take up to 90-days, as stated in your contract. This is because we must send the cancelation request to your utility in a monthly customer list. Once they have received the cancelation request, it can take 1-2 billing cycles for them to remove you from the project and stop applying credits. We can confirm that your account has been fully canceled and you will no longer receive credits on your utility bills or corresponding Nexamp invoices.
We recognize that due to the project issues and the invoice delays, your cancelation timeline was unique and apologize for the less-than-ideal experience. We will personally contact you to provide more details and ensure your concerns are addressed.
