1 starBeen trying to cancel since early spring. Im still getting charged and they were supposed to stop long by now. They tell you its a billing cycle thing then another cycle change and it totally feels like a scam. Poor customer service and no real answers why it takes 6 months to stop billing me. They are terrible.Nexamp

Hello *******,
Thank you for sharing your feedback and allowing us the opportunity to clarify how the Nexamp program and cancellation process work.
As outlined in both your signed agreement and the cancellation confirmation email, the cancellation process is not immediate and can take up to 90 days. This is due to the need to coordinate with your utility provider, who ultimately controls the timeline for removing your account from the ********************** farm. Once we submit the cancellation request to your utility, it typically takes 1-2 billing cycles for the removal to be completed. During that time, you will continue receiving solar energy credits that reduce your utility bill. Because of this timeline, the contract you signed and the cancellation confirmation both note that the full process can take up to 90 days to finalize.
Additionally, Nexamp bills for our services in arrears. This means there is a delay between the time when credits appear on your utility bill and when Nexamp issues an invoice for those credits. That is why you continued to receive and pay invoices from Nexamp after submitting your cancellation request, as those charges were for credits already applied to your utility account.
We understand that this timing can be frustrating at times. A member of our team will be reaching out to you directly to review your account and ensure you have the support and clarity needed throughout this process.

1 starI should have read BBB reviews before joining Nexamp. Don't you just love their packaged responses to these reviews/complaints? They are all the same, don't really answer anyone's review/complaint, and are just insulting. They are the same when talking with them or emailing with them. Every time you have a discussion with them, you grow more frustrated at their inability to explain anything of value to you. They cannot answer this simple question: If you state you will save me money, why does it cost me more money?Nexamp claims they will save you 15% on your electrical bill. I am actually fine with paying more money for renewable energy, but not when I am told I will save money. If it is going to cost me more, I expect that to be stated. They are lying every time they state "we will save you money".With ComEd, my average monthly bill was $122.83 (based on ********* payments made to ComEd).Just today, Nexamp took (stole) $451 from me, stating "there was an issue with ComEd solar credits".So now, being with Nexamp starting in 2025, my average monthly bill is $158.04 after the money they stole from me today. The experience HAS NOT been a 15% savings. The experience HAS been a 28.7% *********** the way, they will continue to steal my money for another 90 days "because that is what is stated in the contract".In order to try to keep me from cancelling, they did a "reallocation" from *****kW AC to 4.18kW AC. So they oversized me to steal more money from me than they needed to. They were off by a factor of 2.7 (4.18*2.7=*****) of oversizing me.When I spoke with them on 7/29/25, they evidently did a reallocation of 50%, so cutting it in half essentially. And today, they are going to do another reduction of 63%? The person giving me 63% seemed to not be aware of the other person giving me 50%.The take-away? They will steal your money if you let them. I have never written a BBB review in my life, so this should be telling you something.Nexamp

Hello ****,
Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience with Nexamp has not met your expectations. We genuinely value feedback like yours and are committed to understanding and resolving each concern with thoughtful and personalized support.
Nexamps program is designed to deliver savings on an annual basis rather than month-to-month, which is especially important in a seasonal state like ********. Our solar farms produce more energy (and therefore more credits) during the spring and summer. When this happens, extra credits are stored in a "credit bank" on your utility account. These stored credits are then used in the fall and winter months, when solar production is lower and energy usage is typically higher. This structure typically helps bring consistent savings throughout the year, even during low-production periods.
We understand you had questions and concerns regarding your solar credit allotment, and we want to ensure the program details are fully understood and fair given your specific situation. A member of our team will follow up with you directly to review your account and address any remaining questions.

1 starThis company is a scam. Do not enroll. After asking the company to cancel services, I was told that I would have a 90-day cancellation process. That was on March 31 and now on August 15---they dared to send me a bill. Another issue is that I was emailed that my "solar farm" was not operable for months. Had not gotten a bill for a few months, then was told that I owed money for the time that the farm was inoperable. SCAM!!!When I called to ask about the bill, got the runaround. When I told the person at the end of the phone why I was being charged to an inoperable farm. She had to ********* NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCAM1Nexamp

Hello ****,
Thank you for your feedback. Were sorry to hear about your concerns and appreciate the opportunity to clarify.
When you enrolled in Nexamps community solar program, the cancellation timeline was outlined in the agreement you reviewed and signed. As noted there, cancellations are not immediate and can take up to 90 days to fully process, which is consistent with industry standards and utility partner timelines.
Regarding billing, Nexamp bills in arrears meaning invoices are issued only after solar energy credits have been applied to your utility account. This ensures you are billed solely for credits that have already been confirmed and used to reduce your electricity charges. Credits appear first on your CMP bill, and our corresponding invoice typically follows 12 months later at your guaranteed discount.
Its true that the solar farm serving your account experienced an outage for about two months. Please know that Nexamp only invoices when the farm is actively generating electricity and credits are applied to your utility account. We do not invoice for periods when no credits were produced.
We understand that community solar can sometimes feel complex, and we want you to feel confident in how the program works. Our goal is always to reduce utility costs and based on the credits applied and the discounts youve received, the program functioned as intended. A member of our team will be reaching out shortly to review the details of your account and answer any additional questions you may have. Thank you again for your time and understanding.

1 starYet another dissatisfied customer **********************. Have you not learned anything from these reviews regarding your poor billing practices? Just curious, do you have AI answering these reviews? My electrical company quickly notified you of my cancellation on July 1st and of course I get your company's standard answer that it could take up to 90 days to cancel and that I am still responsible for any invoices that you send. It is in the fine print right? Oh and of course the last bill I just got from you went up!Nexamp

Hi ****,
Thank you for sharing your concerns, and were sorry for any confusion or frustration you've experienced with our billing process. Nexamp takes all customer feedback seriously, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify how our program works.
We acknowledge your frustrations and understand that solar crediting and billing can at times feel complex. However, wed like to reiterate that throughout your time with us, we shared the cancellation timeline clearly and consistently in our communications, and were always here to help clarify any part of the process. As is standard with our program, it can take up to 90 days from a cancellation request for a customer to be fully removed from the utilitys system. This is not a delay on our end, but rather part of the standard utility processing window which was noted in your cancellation confirmation and contract documentation.
Additionally, our policy states that if your utility account is closed, that closure date becomes your official Nexamp cancellation date, and no further credits would be generated beyond that point. Its important to understand that Nexamp bills in arrears, meaning invoices you received post-cancellation reflected credits that had already been applied to your utility account before the formal closure. You were only invoiced for solar credits used to reduce your utility charges up to that point. Its important to review the production periods listed on your Nexamp invoice, as they indicate when the solar credits were generated and subsequently applied to your account.
Lastly, as solar generation ramps up in the spring and summer months, your share of our farm likely produced more energy, resulting in more credits on your utility account. These credits help lower your electricity costs and were offered at the agreed-upon discount through our program.
We sincerely apologize for any frustrations this process may have caused and will be reaching out directly to provide further clarity about your account.

1 starIf Nexamp was legit then why do they have to try to trick you into signing up for it? Some guy just came to my door claiming he was doing an independent audit to make sure people were getting some supposed solar credit on their electric bill and wanted to see a copy of a recent bill. And if the credit wasn't on it he could fix it by getting some info from me blah blah.... I said "this sounds like you're trying to sign me up for something like Nexamp". He then finally admitted that he was doing just that. No legitimate company would be so deceitful in trying to sign up new customers. Why isn't this illegal?Nexamp

Hello *****,
Were sorry to hear about your frustrations and want to ensure you have a clear understanding of your account status and final billing.
Your Nexamp account has been officially marked for cancellation. Please note that due to the structure of our program and our billing-in-arrears model, you may still receive invoices for solar energy credits that were applied to your utility account prior to your cancellation taking effect.
As a reminder, Nexamp issues invoices only after we receive confirmation from your utility that solar credits have been applied to your account. This results in a delay between when the credits appear on your utility bill and when Nexamp bills you. For this reason, we encourage you to focus on the production periods listed on your Nexamp invoices, as these represent the actual timeframes during which the solar energy was generated and credited to your account.
All credits were provided to you at a discount, and any remaining charges on your account reflect only the credits that were used to offset your electricity costs before cancellation.
Our team will follow up with you directly to review the full details of your account and answer any remaining questions you may have. Thank you for your time and understanding.Review fromRuth M

1 starYou do save on your electric bill but terrible customer service if you want to cancel. I requested in August of last year. They say there is a 3 MONTH wait to process and I'm still trying to get it fully cancelled mid-June. 3 texts and a phone call. Ridiculous.Nexamp

Hello ******,
Thank you for your feedback.
We want to clarify that Nexamp follows a standard 90-day cancellation timeline, which is necessary due to coordination with your utility provider and the structure of community solar billing. Our billing is completed in arrears, meaning the charges on your Nexamp invoices reflect solar credits that were already applied to your utility bill.
That said, weve reviewed your account and can confirm that you have not been billed for any solar credits generated beyond the 90-day cancellation period. If you have questions about your billing, we would be happy to walk you through the details. A member of our team will be reaching out to you directly to ensure any remaining concerns are addressed and that you feel confident in the resolution.

So it takes 6 months to cancel then? There was nothing about 3 months in arrears when I asked to cancel. Just that it takes 3 months for your cancel request to be processed. Important information to share with your customers. And the first two people I contacted said nothing about it. And I still received an invoice this month (June) although it was corrected to zero by the time I logged into my account AGAIN. So 10 months to maybe be finished.
