Verifacts called my place of employment to verify I worked fulltime and then she told me my date of birth and asked if it was correct. I asked her what her company did. She said verify employment. I later found on ****** that this company is debt collection and they are supposed to identify themselves as debt collectors. She did not at any time even when I asked her why she called, identify as a debt collector.Business Response

Today, 11/3/22, VeriFacts called my place of employment on a shared rotation and requested to speak to me. A coworker reached out to transfer the call, which I sent to voice mail after a quick search of the company name. They did not leave a message. We DO NOT receive personal phone calls on our department-wide rotation, first of all, and if I had authorized this contact, I would have provided my personal extension. I am in the awkward position of apologizing to my coworker and attempting to explain, but I have no idea why I was being called in the first place. This was a total invasion of privacy, and I would ask that my employer never be contacted again.Business Response

11/02/2022 Called a business **************** jeopardizing my chance of being hired by them. I don't even know how tge h*** you knew I was interviewing. My current employer is tge only one I told. On 10/20/22, this company (VeriFacts LLC) requested personal employment status and employee information about me to my employer without any reason or explanation. They stated that they need to verify my employment and collect information but would not state who they are requesting this information on behalf of. VeriFacts LLC is seeking to acquired my personal information without my authorization or consent. Working for a law firm, this was a complete invasion of privacy. I would like any further communication with VeriFacts LLC, myself and any other company that has or has not retained VeriFacts LLC for my information to cease and desist IMMEDIATELY. Verifacts has emailed our business about an employee that does not and has not worked for us. in fact we are a self employed business meaning we work for ourselves, we do NOT pay or have employees. Today, September 27, 2022, this company (VeriFacts LLC) requested personal employment status and employee information about me via telephone. They stated that they need to verify my employment and collect information and that the call was being recorded but would not state who they are calling on behalf of. VeriFacts LLC has acquired my personal information without my authorization or consent. Working for a law firm, I was unaware of what exactly the employment verification was for and having clients waiting for me, this was a complete invasion of privacy. This company contacted my office to verify employment and used a name I haven't used in 9 years. I divorced and re-married and they called to verify employment for ***************************. I was last known as that in June, 2013. They obviously don't have updated records and there is no reason to verify my employment.
