On October 17, 2023, I contacted EGO to have my SNT2405 snowblower repaired. The chute and control handle is stuck and cannot be adjusted. I followed all the requested steps from customer support to check the tightness adjustments and to ensure the control cables were not pinched anywhere. None of the troubleshooting steps were able to resolve the issue and EGO support told me the snowblower would need to be replaced with a new one because there were no service centers near me in *********, **. They requested I take a video to show the issue and someone from "management" would be in touch soon to get the replacement taken care of. I sent in the video the same day it was requested. I then contacted EGO on October 18 to confirm they received the video and find out when I would hear back from management. They confirmed and said it could be about a week before I heard anything. I checked with **************** again on October 21 but they did not have an update. On October 31, I contacted them again because it had been 10 business days without any updates from EGO. They still did not have any news and said I would hear back from management by November 6. I still have not heard anything and upon contacted them today, November 6, they said they did not have any information. It has been 3 weeks and EGO will do nothing for me. This unit has a 5 year warranty and I have already been promised a replacement unit.Initial Complaint

Disappointment with Ego Customer Support and Exception Process I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the recent experience I had with your customer support regarding my Ego self-propelled mower, which I purchased in the spring of 2019.Let me begin by providing a little context. I purchased my Ego mower shortly after buying my single-family home in **************, in December 2018. I have been using this mower without any issues since the spring of 2019. It has been a reliable and essential tool in maintaining my lawn. However, this past Saturday, I encountered a problem with the mower and attempted to contact your customer support. To my frustration, I received a voicemail stating that your support was closed on weekends, leaving me unable to seek assistance. Given my work schedule and the fact that I couldn't transport the equipment to my workplace for troubleshooting, I had to wait until today, Thursday, November 2nd, to call your customer support for help.During the call, I emphasized that the manufactured date on the product clearly indicates October 2018. It is perplexing to me that something manufactured in October 2018 would expire on November 1, 2023. I understand that warranty periods have limits, but it's common knowledge that items can sit on shelves or in warehouses for a significant amount of time before being purchased. It would be fairer to consider the actual date of purchase when assessing a warranty, especially when customers may acquire items that have been manufactured well in advance.I was initially offered an exception due to my inability to find the receipt and the fact that I hadn't registered the product, and I was grateful for this consideration. We spent an hour on the phone troubleshooting issues. However, it was disheartening to be informed that the exception would be revoked because I hadn't called on November 1, the day before my warranty supposedly expired. This is a matter of sheer luck, as the timing of my call was coincidental and not a reflection of the quality of my product or my satisfaction as a customer. As a loyal customer of Ego, who has enjoyed your products for several years and happily used them until this issue arose, I am disappointed with the rigidity of your customer support hours and the inconsistency in the exception process. It's crucial for companies to prioritize customer satisfaction and loyalty, and I hope you can understand my perspective in this regard.I appreciate your attention to this matter and sincerely hope that my feedback will lead to improvements in the flexibility of your customer support system, taking into account the manufacturing date and the circumstances of customers who may need exceptions due to factors beyond their control. Consistency and fairness in the exception process would go a long way in retaining loyal customers like me. I can tell you this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth when considering my next electric mower. Ego will not be high on that list.Thank you for your understanding.Initial Complaint

I have purchased many Ego Power Lawn Tools and Batteries - and currently have 5 batteries, 2 chargers and 4 tools (blower, backpack blower, trimmer, edger). Within the last few months all 3 of my 5 batteries (2.5 amp, 2.5 amp, 5 amp) have completed failed, leading to me to the conclusion that my chargers are dysfunctional. I have 2 different chargers and now 3 batteries will not charge at all once placed on the charger (red light turns on). This is not general battery decrease in performance. I am well aware that batteries will decrease in their capacity and performance over a number of years. I have a snapper lawnmower and 7 years later the batteries still work great. This was an abrupt dysfunction of 3 batteries at the same time, and Ego has been unwilling to problems solve with me or replace these defective batteries or charger.I am fully invested in this lawn tool "ecosystem" but now only have 2 working batteries which themselves never seem to fully charge. I think the reasonable solution is the following:Replace Charger Replace Charger Replace 2.5 amp battery Replace 2.5 amp battery Replace 5.0 amp batter Thank you *******************Initial Complaint

05/14/2021 ordered an EGO Brushless Self-propelled Electric Lawn Mower from Lowes. Mower is under warranty by EGO, but in order to get this mower repaired under warranty there is only one number to call EGO customer service at which is **************. Been trying for days and no one ever answers.... just keeps you on hold for hours. I want mower repaired while under warranty, but need info from EGO as to how to go about this and where to take it.Initial Complaint

Lawnmower self-propel stopped working. Brought the lawnmower to authorized repair center ***** small engine work order **** on 8/11/23 and paid $60 for inspection. ***'s Small Engine worked with ego tech support to get it repaired under warranty as the lawnmower was about 3 years old and has a 5-year warranty. The *** boards were replaced, and the transmission motor replaced. Lawnmower would still not work. Ego Tech Support advised on a replacement. Spoke to ***** and they said that ego would send out a replacement lawnmower and refunded me the $60 inspection fee. I spoke to Ego on 9/20/23 and the representative said that it needed to be approved by their management and would take ***** business days after approval. Called back on 10/22/23 and was told the same thing. I explained to them that I was previously told this in a previous call. They said someone should call me back later that day or early today. I received no call and want Ego to honor their warranty replacement. Case# ******** is with ego.Initial Complaint

In early September 2023. My Lawnmower stopped working. It was due to the battery charger, which I spoke to customer service and they confirmed it was the problem and stated it was covered by the warranty and said they would send one out to me. Now, a month in a half later. I have tried calling them dozen times, left messages, emailed them, to absolutely no response. So their "Warranty" doesn't really matter if you cant get a hold of them nor get a replacement part. in any sort of timely manner.Initial Complaint

I bought a brand new lawn mower, Self propel doesn't work. I am a seventy year old man, I need the self propel to work. I was told maybe they can arrange to have it fixed. I don't want to wait months for a lawn mower. This is not right.I called Ego a week after getting the mower. I was told by their representative that they would just send me a new one and I would return the broken one. After waiting I called , now everything is changed.Initial Complaint

I have been attempting to get EGO to honor their warranty of their product for the last two months. I first contacted them, provided my information, and explained the issue. Despite having the manufacturing date printed clearly with serial codes on my battery - they said that without original proof of purchase they would not be able to honor the warranty. This was not expressly advertised when purchased, but I asked if a credit card statement showing the purchase from an authorized retailer would be sufficient - to which they agreed. This was then provided after querying my credit card company, and *** confirmed receipt. Then my case was marked closed. I assumed that this meant that the battery would be shipped, but nope - it just meant they closed my case. No resolution, no communication, nothing. So I contacted them back. I was rudely met with that my case was opened and a new battery would ship and I would receive notification that it was shipping in the future. I asked how long this typically takes, and was told no estimate could be provided. How long should I be expected to wait for EGO to honor a warranty claim, and to also show accountability for poorly manufactured batteries that dont last the warranty period? I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was met with a rude response, then told that one would call me back. At this point, I dont think that will occur because even as it stands - I do not see progress being made unless I am hounding them to do it. I also dont trust that this product will work if / when I do even receive a replacement battery - if that ever occurs.Initial Complaint

Purchased Ego 56V trimmer. On third use, original line ran out. We began loading new line according to instructions.Pushed the auto load button, but it loaded slowly and was clicking. Blue ************** came out and motor got very hot. Took battery off & returned to store. Told to call Ego customer service. Got a hold of a man who was hard to understand. After several questions, my husband apologized & asked to speak to someone easier to understand. The rep was offended, but agreed to have someone call back. A second rep called & asked what time of day and outside temperature it was when this happened. Not relevant. Long story short, rep wanted copy of ***************** of trimmer head, but wouldnt give us an email or phone # to send it to, he sent an email, but we didnt receive it. They spelled it wrong. I gave him my email with ******************** He spelled my email wrong. I repeatedly asked for an email or number. He finally gave me a phone # to send pictures to, which I did. He offered to replace the trimmer, but told me to call the store for a refund, although I had repeatedly told him the store told us to call him. This whole situation was handled very badly, & was so frustrating. I tried to send an email to Ego, but the email didnt work. Extremely bad customer service. Cant get a hold of the actual ********************* get manager names, only said someone would call back. Raised many red flags. We would like our money back.
