This is the second one I have bought and it has done this. The first one just quit working only had it about a month and half. This one I have only had 3 months. I just want a refund for both and for the trouble.Business Response

Purchased electric blanket (over $200) from the company store, a fitted king ******** pad with 2 controller boxes. First box quit working a year ago, product should have 5 year warranty and I did register the warranty. Then a month ago the 2nd box quit working. The electric ******** pad is now totally broken. I reached out to *********** Store who said I needed to contact the blanket manufacturer. I have contacted Biddeford by email 4x with no response. Their ******** is full of comments from people experiencing the same.Business Response

I have contacted ********* Cat two times and have left voice messages asking her to contact me so that i can resolve her issue with our product. I have not heard from the customer. I also emailed customer to see if she would respond to me via email, as of yet I have received nothing. I would gladly help her .

I bought the blanket March 10, 2023 ********** and paid $65. This is my 5th blanket to purchase in less than 15 months! Today is April 9, 2023. These blankets do not last long at all. Today is day 31 and it stopped working on both sides. It is a king size blanket and one side stopped working over 2 weeks ago and the other side stopped today. It has not been moved from my bed since the day I purchased and put it on. The blanket has not been bent or moved and hasnt even gotten dirty or even been washed! I expect an electric blanket at minimum to work for 1-2 years when you havent mistreated or have taken very good are of it, which I have. I took extra care because I was afraid it was gonna stop working like the previous 4!!! The tracking number is X194HI1024903. The model number is 0BP04. I at the least expect them to replace my 5th blanket free of charge!! This is biddeford blankets bought at ******* The blanket controller died. The customer service or warranty claim process is fake. Its a phone number that after 10 attempts waiting for up to two hours goes unanswered. This is by intention, many other people report the same thing. I require a return authorization number for serial number otj **************. else save me the trouble and just mail me a new blanket.Business Response

I purchased a Biddeford heated blanket some time ago, and just started using it. It has been observed by me, that when even in a low setting, the controller gets hot. The higher the setting, the hotter it gets.My main concern is it posing a fire hazard. I've sent emails (with photos), getting an automated response asking me to call ************ for better & faster service. I've tried several times to call during business hours EST and they are always supposedly closed, and it automatically disconnects with no option to leave a message. My main concern is this posing a fire hazard, even though I never leave the blanket on and unattended. I do fall asleep with the blanket on, so if it did catch fire, I would be at a high risk of being severely burned. It's frustrating and concerning that they are unresponsive. I feel I have no recourse in getting a resolution or guidance as to what their position on this is. It would behoove Biddeford to respond rather than having a lawsuit for the controller causing a fire. My neighbor had a heated item catch fire and it destroyed their home. The home had to be fully rebuilt. I'm trying to sincerely and respectfully avoid such a problem.Business Response

I spoke with Linna.She asked me how I'd like to resolve this issue, and I stated a replacement would be fine.She then stated she'd send a postage paid return label and send out a replacement blanket, once they received the old one. That was fine with me. Linna was very kind, courteous and eager to help.This past Monday, May 8th. I received an email from Biddeford that my old blanket was received & processed, and my replacement was being sent, and should arrive in no more than 6 days......May 14th.Overall, I'm pleased with how well things went, along with the outcome.To the BBB staff, I can't thank you enough for assisting me with this matter. I received this Leopard print heated throw for my birthday. Love it a lot.The other day my controller was plugged in but not turned on. Smoke was coming out of my controller it was hot to touch.I unplugged it and opened it up . It had basically burnt up the mother board. Received this blanket Model #OWF-OBC01 Tracking#X137JA4770903-6 for Christmas 2022. Ive been using this blanket everyday as a simple throw blanket to watch movies as I have another king sized from another brand I use on my bed at night during the winter. I have not yet washed it. Wednesday evening 03/02/2023 I started watching a movie. I noticed my leg was starting to hurt about an hour into the movie and I uncovered it and immediately knew my left leg had a burn with the wire marks from the blanket. It hadnt started to blister so I ran cold water over it for ten minutes and went to bed. The next morning it was a blister the size a little bigger than a quarter. By the second day it was the size of a ************* piece and by the fourth day it burst. Went to the doctor today Monday 03/06/2023 and its a 2nd degree burn possibly a 3rd and I have no feeling in the center of the burn it damaged the nerves. Not only is this going to leave me disfigured but Im in a lot of pain where I still do have feeling, dont know if the nerve damage is permanent and having to take skin/wound care antibiotics to prevent infection as well as a cream to help regenerate the skin cells. After that night the blanket only heats ** in certain areas so it must have malfunctioned that night and redirected all the heat to those particular wires causing the burn to my leg. I followed all rules and instructions and this is completely upsetting. I dont want this to happen to anyone elseBusiness Response

I filled out the warranty card and mailed it in. I purchased this blanket for my husband 3 months before it stopped working. *** had no response to my emails about getting a replacement.
