I purchased a Biddeford heated mattress pad from Target on 11-02-2023. I have been trying to register the warranty on line. There appears to be no website for this company. Even the website for Biddenford that is on the BBB site indicates "Error establishing a database connection". In addition I have attempted to register at the following and get the same Error.****************************************************************. I have researched the situation and have found other consumers having the same problem. On the "Pissed Consumer" website the last entry question is "How do I locate a website that works to enter information about my new electric blanket purchase? P.C." I bought two twin size heated blankets for $60 each. One stopped working within the first 6 weeks. The other stopped working about 6 weeks after that. Notice that is a recurring theme with these blankets. I cannot take these back as these were gifted to my children.Business Response

I purchased a Biddeford Throw Blanket in December of 2021 from ******** I registered the my purchase online at the Biddeford website. My power cord seems to be faulty. Purchased a queen size electric blanket, model# 0WF-0BD03 and used it for only 5 months and both controllers seem to have gone out or the whole blanket just seemed to stop working. Was pretty satisfied with it at first but then it just stopped working all together. Please help me fix it or if I could get a replacement please, winter is approaching fast as my apartment has poor insulation and its very cold in here and that was my main source of heat.Business Response

2 model number Tc11w1 control units from twin blankets bought from ******* in ******* **** last Christmas 2022 will not turn on when plugged in this year 2023.I don't have reciet because of them being gifted to my daughters. I have tried to contact this business regarding my warranty on my heated full sized blanket using their online portal SEVERAL times, and have not gotten a response. I have even registered my blanket through their online portal WITHOUT receiving confirmation of my registration. My blanket stopped working less than 6 months after the item was purchased. The website and item inserts instruct consumers to email for customer assistance and help with warranty but no one has responded in my multiple attempts to reach out.Business Response

Bought: Feb 4th 2022 from ****** Spent: $100 (king size)Stopped working: Sept 2023 (giving E on both controllers)Finally found a valid cust service number in BBB's comments. Called 9/22/23 and was asked for model number on back on controller and my personal information. I was then was walked through how to "hard reset" the blanket. Followed instructions to leave on for 30 mins. 2 hours later, it's stopped working again, with E's on controllers and it wasn't even heating.Called a second time only hours later 9/22/23, this time I was asked for the tracking number and model number from the blanket's sticker, my home address, and email address. I was then given instructions to write down to send the blanket back to Biddeford, and that "in a few days", I'd receive a label via email from **** label delivery". Today, September 26th, I've received nothing. No email, nothing. Inbox, spam, trash, nothing.At this point, and after reading all of the negative comments and experiences with this brand, just refund me the $100 I spent on this blanket and I'll shop a different brand that takes more pride in their product, and doesn't require a customer to send back a defective product before honoring the said 5 year warranty with a replacement item. Just refund me. I don't want another Biddeford anything in my house.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I don't trust these people. It took me DAYS of calling random numbers on the internet before I even found a legitimate customer service number to call. I ended up finding a good number on this site, in one of the negative reviews. Once I did find a good number, I reported the same issue to them twice. They only reached out to me AFTER I came here to make a complaint and request a refund, plus seeing hundreds of negative reviews and no longer wanting this brand in my home. I have no guarantee that once I ship this blanket off that this company will refund me anything. If they send the refund, I'll put their label on my box and send it off as soon as I see proof of their claim to refund. I will NOT be out a blanket AND $100 dealing with this sketchiness.

I have a Threshold Heated Microplush Throw in the color Bronze Windowpane (UPC: ************, ID: ************. It was purchased for me last year at Target (Feb 3, 2022, $31.00). I still have the box and it states it has a 5-year warranty. I used it last winter with no issues. I brought it out to use this past week and it won't turn on. When I click to turn it on, it shows a blinking light at the top. I have attempted unplugging it/resetting it in all ways, but nothing has worked. What is even more concerning, is if I leave it plugged in, a hot spot will start in one area, even with it turned off.I initially called Target concerning this issue. They claimed that although it is a brand they sell, they no longer sell this blanket and the warranty belongs to the manufacturer. They stated the manufacturer of this specific Threshold Heated Microplush Throw is Biddeford Blankets. They gave me the phone number and website. The phone number just rings and rings. The website is completely down. I have no other choice but to file a complaint here in hopes this can get resolved.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:This seems like a harsh way to respond, but it is how BBB is set up. I could not find the email that was claimed as sent, or I would have replied there. Hopefully the business can see this. I DID receive the controller for the blanket in the mail. It did NOT resolve the issue. I still have the blinking problem. As I stated in my original complaint, the issue seems to be with wires within the blanket. There is hot spotting if ANY power goes to it- even when it is just the controller blinking. I am assuming the blinking from the controller is a sign that there is a wire issue within the blanket itself. If a replacement blanket could be sent (don't care about color), I think that will resolve the issue entirely because both components will have been replaced. Thank you for your time in trying to address this.
