On June 7, 2021 a contract was signed for a headstone for my late father. My mother, ******************************* gave **** a down payment on June 16, 2021 in the amount of $3101.00 and on November 17, 2021 they asked for the 2nd payment of $1,551.00 which **** paid. A bronze marker was ordered from Gast Monuments on 6/13/22. The total bill will be $2831.50. A deposit of $1650 was made at the time. I was told that delivery/installation was estimated to be sometime in the spring of 2023.On May 5, 2023 I called **** and spoke with ******** who told me they were still waiting to receive the marker and she would call me with an update.On August 30, 2023 my email to ******** was returned "address not found" and I called and left a voicemail Sept 6, 2023 I spoke with ********* at ******************** to see if they had any info. There is a foundation fee of $395 that **** was supposed to pay, but they have not heard form ****. ********* said she would try calling them, but called me back saying she was unable to reach anyone.Sept 7, 2023 - I spoke with *******************. She informed me she would email ********* about the permit fee and email the foundry for an update.Oct 25, 2023 - I spoke with ***** at ****. She told me she would provide a credit card number to St **** for the permit today and email me a confirmation receipt. She will email the foundry for an update and get back to me.Oct 27, 2023 - ***** at **** called to let me know she was unable to reach ******* at the manufacturer but will call again Monday. I told her the permit fee at St ****'s has still not been paid. She said she will check on it and pay it herself Monday.Dec 1, 2023 - I spoke with ********* at St ****'s. She confirmed that ***** from **** called to get the foundation fee amount ($395) but did not make a payment. No payment has been made as of this date. I then called both ***** and her assistant ***** and left voicemails and followed up with an email.On Oct 5, 2023 I filed a complaint online with the office of the attorney general. Our family signed a quote with Gast Monuments in April, 2022. We were originally told this would be completed in the Fall of 2022. To date we still have not received my mothers headstone. The reason given was that the stone is on back order. Through some investigating of our own we have found out that this is false. **** has not been paying their vendors. We have also learned that **** has not contacted the cemetery to procure the appropriate permit for this headstone. We have been in contact with several people at **** over the last 1 1/2 years to get information but none will return calls, emails, or text messages. We have requested a refund from **** in the amount of $1100.00 which was paid in April 2022. No one will respond to this request. Our family has moved on with another company that will take our order and deliver for us. We are trying to get our deposit back to offset the new cost. **** Monument should not be in business. They have and are currently still taking money from grieving families with little or no intent to deliver. I feel terrible for all of the other families who are going through our similar situation.Initial Complaint

My mother ********************* died and we went to Gast Monuments in August 2022 to order a 24x12x4 marker for her grave. We were told that a 50% deposit had to be paid to place the order, so we paid $****** at that time, total cost was $1855.00. The other 50% or $927.00 would be due before delivery. We were informed that due to back orders and supply chain issues that the appoximate wait time until they received the actual stone was about a year. The inscription, delivery, and placement of the marker at her grave in ************************ would be completed in approximately the fall/winter of 2023. In May of 2023, I began calling to see if the stone had arrived yet. I usually spoke with ***************** who assured me that it was scheduled to be on the next delivery. In late June I was informed that the stone had arrived at ****. On June 26,2023 I began receiving emails from Gast Monuments, Inc. awaiting my approval or rejection of a proof created for the stone inscription. I called ***************** multiple times before receiving a proof that did not have any typos/grammatical errors. When I finally began receiving a proof without any grammatical errors, news stories began appearing about Gast Monuments, Inc. and the many lawsuits and customers with unfulfilled orders, some waiting years. After calls to the cemetery and the Archdiocese I was informed that the cemetery was never paid a $350.00 charge as per my receipt, that I learned is done at the time the order is placed. After calling other monument places I was informed that the standard timeframe to order and place the marker is 8 weeks. I called ***************** and ***** everyday for the past 2 weeks to cancel my order and have received no response. After learning of all the deceit, I informed **** that I am not comfortable proceeding with them. I rejected all proofs and informed **** the reason by email on the box for rejecting. I cannot get a response to my phone calls. I want my ****** refunded.Initial Complaint

**** has not provided any updates on my brother's monument and they took my family's initial down payment of $3700 in May 2023. After several months of calling and emails. I have not received any replies from either form. Last month in July, **** decided to charge my brother's credit card of $3700 again without notifications and no reasons. The second charge in July 2023 was unathorized and consider a fraudulent charge. I am seeking for a refund of $3700 and never to deal with this company again. It is sad that this company has been around over 130 years. Now their grand-children have run it down to the ground and committing crimes such as fraud.Initial Complaint

I purchased a marker for my fathers grave, I paid for it back in November 2022 and was promised it would be completed and installed but late summer 2023. I have recently discovered that the marker has never been ordered or isnt in their possession. I cant get anyone at **** to return a call, text, or email. After the sudden loss of my husband, I went to Gast Monuments *** to inquire about purchasing a headstone for his grave. I chose the design and paid the deposit for the headstone in October 2021. I had mentioned that in my culture it is customary to have the headstone in place by the one year **** (which would have been Aug 2022). They agreed to the date. Closer to the one year **** of my husbands passing, I followed up with **** on the status of the stone. They continued to blame ***** and transportation issues and I let it slide. The year ****ed passed and I continued to follow up. It is now at the 2 year **** and I have yet to receive any updates or my headstone I had puchases. The company does not answer my emails or phone calls. I've gone in person only to be turned away or for the company to be shut down unexpectantly. I've requested a refund and they laughed in my face. Their customer service is horrible and at this point they have scammed me (robbed me) since they took my money and are not providing the headstone i have paid for.Initial Complaint

Last fall, we purchased two head stones and money to All Saint ******** to place the stones whne ready. We were advised the stones would be placed in the Spring of 2023. We have used **** Monument before with no issues. May, 2023 came and no word that the stones were ready. We visited the ********** shop for an update and were told the granite wasn't available. We had another death in tha family who was advised not to purchase a head monumnet from **** as they were not paying All Saints the money they collected to placed the stones. Presently, we have paid them around $4000 for two stones. We returned again to the ***********, and give *********************** phone at the ******** ******* office and ********************* email. No one contcted **. The sad thing is the day we were in the ** office they were still accepting money for monuments. Can you help or do we hire an attorney.Initial Complaint

My husband and I paid Gast Monuments to put an expiration date on my mother in laws headstone on 3/16/2022. They pacified me for the first year stating that it would get done in June 2022, then July 2022, then August 2022 then September 2022. Then the ground was cold again so we had to wait until this summer. To date, they will not return an email or a phone call and the services have not been rendered so we have been waiting to bury my mother for almost 2 years now.Initial Complaint

**** Monument overcharged me for a headstone. They quoted $1545 and I gave them a $1000 deposit. They charged an additional $1545 on May 30. Now they are attempting to charge an additional $545. I have written to them 3 times but receive no response
