I was contacted by Extra Space Moving and storage after completing an online moving estimate to receive a quote on7/29/2023. The sales associate that I spoke with provided a moving estimate of $1754.95 to move our goods from ****** to *************, and required a deposit of $815 to secure my reservation. The sales associate told me that my goods would be picked up on 8/25 and delivered by 8/28/23. I was required to pay 50% of the remaining balance upon pick up and the other 50% upon delivery. ESM contracted Handle ********* to transport our goods. On the day of pick up, I paid the required 50% (plus a 10%tip to the driver, which was a total shakedown). The driver asked when I wanted my goods delivered by, and I told them by 8/28. When he told me that there was no way that they would be delivered by 8/28 I then told him I wanted our goods delivered as quickly as possible. He wrote ASAP on the Bill of Lading contract. After not receiving any updates from the transport company I contacted HWC on 9/6 to schedule my delivery. I was informed that I needed to pay 75% of the remaining balance in order to have my goods scheduled for delivery. I paid the amount required and was told my delivery would be scheduled within 8 business days. On 9/14 I was informed that our goods were on the truck and my delivery would be within 3/4 business days. Our goods have still not been delivered. I have contacted ESM multiple times and have received little help, and plenty of rude attitude. I have contacted HWC, multiple times only to be told that they will check with their dispatch and will give me an update. I have yet to receive any calls back from them. I was finally able to speak with the office manager at HWC and was told that our goods are still in KS and it could be several more weeks before our goods are delivered because ************* is difficult to get to. HWC has failed to fulfill their contractual obligation, and should not have accepted my contract if it was too difficult.Initial Complaint

08/31/2023 My wife and I contracted ******* Moving and Storage to move our belongings from ********* ********* to ******* *******. The moving company damaged and or broke a large portion of our things, from bedroom furniture to our dining room furniture, broken and cracked flat screen television's and a bunch more items. We didn't have any contract with Handle ************************************************* LLC. Movers from Handle ************************************************* LLC came to move my household items on September 2. They increased at least $1,200 on top of a binding estimate of $2,400 from another moving company called ** ****************** I disagree with it. They took away my items without my agreement. Now they are holding my items in their Georgia warehouse hostage and they refused to return my items if I do not pay binding estimate of $2,400. I do not want to use their service and want my items back.Initial Complaint

Hi there. First off thank you for your time reading this. I am in complete shambles. This company was hired by a broker which I initially hired (mega man moving), and has since took all my belongings for ******. My mother helped me move across the US after I was divorced from my cheating husband that left me with nothing but my belongings that are currently with these movers. We agreed on $1500 in a binding contract with these movers, no more no less. When they came to pick up my things they reassured me that I did not need to pay them anything (since I had already paid $500 deposit) and that they only wanted cash at the time of drop off. So, after this company decided to take my things, they brought the initial truck to Georgia where they would transfer it to a 18 ******* and move it to *******. When the truck was sent to Georgia, they called my mother saying they would not give it to us until we paid them ANOTHER $800+ for delivery fees and a late payment fee for no giving them money at pickup which they already said I did not need to pay. Its been two weeks now. Ive been left with nothing but a small suitcase of my things and constant back and forth with this company. Ive filed police reports, called the original brokers and SO MUCH MORE. I am simply hopeless. My belongings have been stolen from me and I just want my things back. Photos of my biological parents that are now passed and cannot be replaced as well as my now deceased sister is GONE. I would do anything just to get those back. Im so close to pulling out a loan to pay them this ******, but I cant even trust theyll give me these things even if I do pay. Please help me. My mother put in another complaint with dates, times and proof of conversations. As well if you just read the reviews of stolen items, rifled through boxes, ANYTHING. I just want my life back. Please help me. This is all I have left. Sincerely,*******************************Initial Complaint

My husband contacted ****************** to conduct a move of items from our storage unit in ** to *** We were told the movers would arrive in the next two days. After many phone calls to the company, we finally get a direct number to dispatch who says that he will be a day late. Once he shows up, he loads our stuff onto his truck and then explains it will be twice the amount we were quoted and must be paid in cash upon delivery. We said no, not possible. He said you can do it by CC its fine. Then, he proceeds to say he will be there with our things on Monday. On Monday morning, I called ****************** and was told that we needed to contact the actual moving company (first we had heard of this!). They gave me the number, I called, it was explained to me that Everest is only a brokerage firm and the job had been farmed out to Handle with Care Moving and was sent an invoice that states I owed what the the original estimate was. Once the movers arrived, I was asked for the balance- paid it and then held ****** for another ****. I will be disputing these charges. Furthermore, the truck they showed up in had multiple other storage units in it along with mine, a lot of which was trash. We ended up with broken, scratched furniture and even one or two items that did not belong to us.I will not be satisfied until I receive my money back as I never signed a contract stating we would be held ****** for money at drop off.Initial Complaint

In February I contacted a moving service to assist in my move from *********, ** to ********* **. I worked with **** from NORTH ******** MOVING EXPERTS LLC. It turns out, this company is a broking service and I was connected to Handle with Care Moving Services. My items were picked up on March 26th. When they arrived they informed me that what I discussed with the broker is actually different than what I owed. They informed me that I owed an extra $350 for stairs and parking away from the building. I never received an invoice from the actual moving company until after my items were loaded on the truck. The drivers mentioned that I need to call the main office to set up a delivery date. After contacting the main office the following day, I was informed that my items would be delivered **** business days. However, my items were not delivered. I called every day asking for an estimate and they have given me the run around. I called last week and was informed that it would be delivered by April 30th. They mentioned that if I paid $780 dollars my items would be delivered sooner. I called on May 1st and they mentioned that it has not been 21 business days and to be patient. *** (the owner) stated that if I wanted my stuff tomorrow, I would need to pay them $480 dollars. I told them that I would come and pick up my items and they mentioned that my items cannot be picked up. They stopped answering my phone calls. My items finally arrived on May 3rd. They charged me $200 extra dollars for a shuttle fee which was not mentioned in my initial contract. Upon my review, I noticed that I have damages to my 55 inch TV, kitchen table, ottoman, bed, sound bar, and sofa. I am also missing a kitchen stool. Also, I was informed that my items were involved in an accident and stored in a junkyard. They provided me with a blank complaint form but, did not tell me how long it would take to know answer, how a complaint is resolved or provide any details regarding insurance.Initial Complaint

I utilized a broker (**********************) to estimate and schedule my move from ******, ** to *********, **. The broker chose Handle ********* as the carrier to perform my move. The original estimate provided to me came to $2700.29 which included almost all of my inventory besides a very small tv stand and clothes hamper which I had forgotten to include as unboxable items, the estimated volume was 326 cubic feet. The movers arrived to collect my items and after loading everything into the truck they informed me of a revised price. The new total price was $6378.01 with a supposed cubic footage overload that had me at a total volume of 900 cubic feet, but I never saw the final loaded truck. I believe that this 900 cubic feet is a miscommunication between the two movers who performed my move and the broker, but neither is taking action to correct it. I have been going back and forth with customer service asking for proof of the 900 cubic feet as there is no way that my one bedroom apartment required that volume. I have so far paid $2500 to Handle ********* and $1378 to the broker (**********************), all because of this excess volume that I have no way of verifying. The customer services rep continuously states that she is going to call me back after having discussions and never does. She even provided me with an incorrect email address to send documents to and has been overall extremely unprofessional. The entire situation with Handle ********* is mistake-ridden and is costing me thousands of dollars if I would like to see my belongings again.Initial Complaint

I paid for HHGs shipment from ******** to ******* through Coast-to-Coast. The entire move was approximately $3100. $1100 went to Coast to Coast and the other $2000 went to the movers they hired, I was told that the movers would be at my house on the week of 12 Dec. they set two dates for pickup and cancelled both with very little, notice and I had to cancel Holiday events that I paid for. The movers showed up at my house on 23 Dec at 10PM. They were unprepared for the move, and they were upset because it was late at night. I paid for pack & wrap and a mattress cover. the mover told me that is not what his paperwork had. I told him then we need to cancel the move and I want my refund back. I was told by the Coast-to-Coast QA person that i could pack up to 30 boxes, China cabinet, outdoor patio furniture and a queen-size bed. The mover said that Coast to Coast lied to me, and they packed approximately 10 Boxes and the bed. I was told that the furniture would be delivered to ******* a couple of days after xmas by the mover who packed up my stuff. I flew my wife to ******* from ******** to receive the items. Dec came and past and I called their customer service office every day and I kept on getting told that there is no status on when my items would be delivered. ** wife return flight/ticket from Az back to MO was on 14 Jan. i talked to the mover's customer service rep and asked her if I should extend my wife's ticket and i was told no, because they didn't have a delivery date as of 13 Jan. ** wife returned home the next day (Saturday) and I received a call from the movers on Monday, 16 Jan stating that my items were scheduled for delivery in the next three days. I had to buy another RT ticket for my wife on Monday 16 Jan. ** wife received the items a couple of days later and when she opened the boxes there was no wrapping service and 70% of our items were broken beyond repair.Requesting a refund of $2K for services not rendered/$500 for airfareInitial Complaint

I hired Handle with Care as a moving company through a broker, Allied One, to move all my personal belongings from ***********, ** to *********, **. I have paid them $2500 in total for their services. My things were picked up in ***** on October 31st 2022. This includes all my clothes, bed, furniture, professional music equipment, books, medication, a TV, kitchen appliances, lamps, vinyl records and CDs.The moving company has been inconsistent with their terms of service, particularly the time expected to deliver (they initially said 10 business days, which was followed by 30 business days). Further, they have repeatedly refused to give me updates on the delivery every time I've called. It has been almost 3 months as I'm writing this, and my most recent update when I called today was that they could not get ahold of the first driver that picked up my things, indicating that they do not know where my things are. They suggested I file a police report for my "stolen" property, but the *********** police station insisted that this is a civil matter and that I should hire an attorney. This is wildly unacceptable, and I am beyond frustrated at the lack of effort on their part to provide a service which I already paid for, as well as the absurd amounts of stress this has caused me. I would like to see all my things delivered to my address immediately, as well as a full refund of the payments I've already made. If my belongings are not found, I would demand for the company to compensate me for the value of the lost items, as they were held responsible for them, if not file a lawsuit.
