Fradulent and incorrect taxes and higher interest monthly charges from when my loan was acquired that I am supposed to be paying. ****, non professional customer service employees that refuse to have upper management contact me regarding the above issues! Thank you for escalating your frustrations. LendingPoint conducted an investigation into the loan that was funded on April 12, 2022, with a regular payment of $283.35. Throughout the life of the loan, you entered three separate Temporary Relief Payment Programs, which reduced your monthly payment to $85.01 from November 2022 January 2023, $28.34 from July 2023 September 2023, and $85.01 from July 2024 September 2024. As stated in the signed agreements, while your monthly payment was reduced during the modification, interest continued to accrue. Our loans are customer-friendly, simple interest loans (similar to auto loans and mortgage loans), where interest accrues daily.
On April 14, 2025, you notified LendingPoint that your bank account was compromised. As a result, we removed the account from autopay and completed a permanent due date change. On May 13, 2025, we spoke to you regarding the May payment and reenrolled your account in autopay. Since then, a customer service manager has attempted to contact you by phone twice to discuss any further concerns but has been unable to reach you and left messages. We remain on standby to assist further at **************. Thank you for being the best part of LendingPoint.

I am writing to formally dispute the reporting of a balance on my credit reports related to an account that was charged off by Lending Point and subsequently sold to a third-party collection agency.Upon reviewing my credit file during the home loan process, I noticed that Lending Point is still reporting a balance on this account, despite the fact that it was charged off and transferred. This appears to be incorrect and may be impacting my ability to secure financing. When I initially contacted the collection agency that now holds the account, I made a payment arrangement and was explicitly assured that the entire tradelineboth from the original creditor (Lending Point) and the collection agencywould be removed from my credit reports upon completion of payment. I am requesting that Lending Point review the call recordings from my discussions with your representatives to verify this agreement, as I was relying on the accuracy of that information in deciding to proceed. Please confirm that you will review the recordings related to my case, the current reporting status of the account, and whether you will correct or delete the tradeline, as discussed.I would appreciate a prompt investigation into this matter, as it is time-sensitive and affecting my home loan process.Business Response

Thank you for escalating your concerns. LendingPoint completed an investigation into the application received from our partner Credit Karma on 1/24/2025. During the application process, LendingPoint verified your phone number, address, email address, and the bank account that funds were deposited into as belonging to you. In addition, we received bank statements and tax returns that belong to you.
On 2/27/2025, a successful payment was received from the bank account on file. During a phone call on 3/21/2025, in which we verified you as the caller, you requested to be removed from autopay. The agent offered a due date and/or frequency change and explained available hardship programs to you, all of which you declined. No additional payments have been received. We can find no evidence of identity theft and believe all credit reporting is accurate. Thank you for escalating your concerns. LendingPoint completed an investigation and found an application from our partner LendingTree on 7/22/2022, which was funded on 7/23/2022 for $10,193.89 with a regular monthly payment of $326.00. In January 2023, you enrolled in a Temporary Reduced Payment Plan, which lowered your monthly payment to $32.60 for three months. In April 2023, you requested a due date change, which permanently moved your due date to the 26th of the month. In July 2023 and October 2023, the loan was enrolled in two additional Temporary Reduced Payment Plans, which again lowered your monthly payment to $32.60 for June through December 2023. The last payment was received on 12/24/2023. LendingPoint attempted to contact you numerous times, however, the loan was eventually charged off on 7/25/2024 and sold to ICR on 9/30/2024. A request was submitted to the credit bureaus on 4/25/2025 to delete this tradeline from your credit report, as the debt is no longer owed to LendingPoint; please allow the credit bureaus a few weeks to update their records accordingly. For more information regarding this debt please contact ICR.

I paid off my lending point loan February *******. Ive contacted them multiple times Inquiring about my refund of loan overpayment. When I first contacted them 1 month after overpayment, they said they have the overpayment on file but a refund has not been started. They said they would return my overpayment via direct deposit into my checking account I never received it so I called back. They said they mailed a check, however they mailed it to a previous address that I did not live at even when I took out the loan. Again they said they would reissue it to the checking account on file. I received an email saying they sent a refund check. I again did not receive it so I called back. This time they told me they show a refund owed to me but never a check issued. Now they are saying they have to to get permission from upper management to issue my refund! It had been owed to me for almost 2 months.Business Response

I have been paying off my $10,000 loan with Lending Point since 2022. In three years, I am frustrated to see that my balance has only reduced to $9,253. I have enrolled in a 3 month hardship plan that reduced my payments, but I still couldn't believe that in 3 years of making payments, I only paid $765 in principle!! So now my frustrations have turned into outrage because I cannot find any documentation that breaks down the remaining term of my loan (since its obvious I won't be done in 7 years like I had planned) or how much I have paid into interest and fees. They do not send you paper documents of any kind, especially statements. Fine. But they also don't send you electronic documents outside of the original loan agreement. Additionally, the website and app does not accurately portray the current charges due, and as a result, I ended up under paying a month not realizing it until two weeks later when LendingPoint called me and told me that was past due. And of course that only increased my interest charges. This could have all been avoided if I was given a statement that clearly broke down past due and current charges, including current interest accruals.I can't help but think that the lack of statements, whether electronic or by mail, is intentional because they don't want customers to see their predatory and dishonest practices, and push for a lack of transparency and incredibly high interest rates that will keep you paying them for decades and barely scratch the surface. I have never dealt with ANY company that refuses to give you an itemized statement of what you owe them and how they are allocating your funds. I will never get a loan with them again and I will be quickly trying to refinance with a different company. Until then, I demand for Lending Point to do the proper business practice and send me my monthly statements!Business Response

Thank you for escalating your concerns. LendingPoint completed an investigation into the loan that was funded on 2/17/2022 for $10,600 with a regular payment of $338.99. On June 22, 2022, you enrolled in a Temporary Reduced Payment Plan that lowered your monthly payment to $67.80 for three months. On 12/27/2024, you enrolled in a second Temporary Reduced Payment Plan, lowering your bill to $101.58 for three months. During the payment modifications, no changes were made to the remaining terms of your loan, including interest rate. LendingPoints loans are customer-friendly simple interest loans (similar to auto loans and mortgage loans), where interest accrues daily, and as stated in your contract, payments are applied to accrued interest first, followed by the principal. A copy of your amortization schedule was sent to you, and we have attempted to follow up, but have been unable to reach you. I am rejecting this response because:I'm still waiting for someone to answer my questions on how much outstanding interest I have and provide me with a 10 Day Payoff Quote. If someone from your company tried calling then they didn't leave a message or a call back number, so how am I to know that they even called?
When I intiated communication with **** from Lending Point, I always get different numbers on the outstanding interest on my account, and that amortization schedule did nothing to clarify. The online portal is essentially useless in explaining my loan balance because it changes everyday and it does not tell me anything.
I cannot continue to give you money without knowing exactly how my payments are being applied. I would have never signed up for the payment relief programs had I known that doing so would add 4 years to my maturity date, which is absolutely insane! The only way I know that is because I had to call and request it once I realized that after 3 years of paying you, I was getting nowhere.
Further, a legitimate business should not make me jump through hoops to retrieve information that should be easily avaliable to me. You mention that your loans are similar to a home mortgage and auto loan. Well, I have an auto loan and I know exactly how much accrued interest is on the account, my principal balance, and they even give me a 10 day payoff quote. They are very transparent and I never have to call them and ask for that information. On the contrary, Lending Point loans are very convoluted and even when I call, I'm not given the correct info or your **** are unable to answer simple questions.
Therefore, Lending Point, why are you hiding important information that consumers need to make important decisions about their loan? Why do you not provide consumers with electronic statememts? Why can no one tell me what my total accrued interest is?
Sincerely,
**** ********Business Response

We are sorry to hear of your continued frustrations. We wanted to let you know that your customer success representative sent you the most recent information requested via email on April 23, 2025; a copy of your loan amortization schedule, which included the allocation of each payment towards principal, interest, and fees, was sent on April 15, 2025. If you did not receive these documents, please let us know. Regarding the changing interest balance on your loan, as interest accrues daily, the interest balance on your loan will also change daily, increasing on days where there is no payment and decreasing after payments are processed. Why choose a BBB Accredited Business?BBB Business Profiles may not be reproduced for sales or promotional purposes.
BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
