Gun Broker is using a third party sales tax collector for internet sales on their web site. 1st of Gun Broker is charging sales tax for the item purchased and also on the shipping of that item. The sales tax they charged was at 9.18% it should have been 6.35% Sales tax on purchase and shipping $13.99, Sales tax on the item purchased should been only $12.07 , not with the shipping by a private party. I sent the seller a **** Money Order for the amount $242.09 which ********** advised that they recorded as the sale. I live in *******, **************, ***** the item shipped was to a business in ***************, which is not within the City Limits, but has the same zip code of *****.I filed this complaint last year in 2023 for the same issue, I requesting a refund of $8.12

Good afternoon *****,
We have investigated your claim and we see that the agent handled the answer correctly. Due to the address being input the way that it was for the receiving FFL, the sales tax was correctly charged.

I am rejecting this response because: ************ is charging more sales tax for the internet sale. I provided them information from the Arizona Department of Revenue showing the business's address and their sales tax is 6.35%. They try to advised that they use a third party party to calculate the sales tax, but when I showed Gun Broker they were charging a higher tax to the shipping location. They just blew me off. Last year I filed a Georgia BBB complaint concerning the same issue and they sent me a check for the over charged taxes. I am retired and I don't like getting ripped off, even if it is $10.00.
Sincerely,

Good morning *****,
Unfortunately, after thorough investigation, we have determined that the sales tax price that was paid, was valid due to the address being input the way that it was according to the ship to address.

I am rejecting this response because: I didn't put any address wrong for the shipping destination. They are the ones lying it is their ******** base with Gun Broker that uses the same address I put into the Arizona Department Revenue. Will some show me where I put in the address. AZDOR is using the business address and the 5 digit zip code. The tax rate is 6.35 % not 10.91%

I won an auction for a ******** 30/06 hunting rifle. The seller advertised nice condition few dents and scratches. No mention of rust. The item I received had significant rust and many dents and scratches. I asked for an amount credited, the seller refused and became belligerent. I filed a **** with GunBroker and forwarded about 15 pics of the item. Because I made a comment that I had to "clean" the rust off GN would not help me. They said I altered the condition of the item. Cleaning is not altering. I am very frustrated that GB closed my claim. So I over paid for a rifle. I have about 30 pics of the rust, dents, and scratches. Please help me get money back. Thank you.

Good morning *****,
We appreciate you reaching out. We requested documentation from the original listing that was never provided. You stated in your communication with us that the item was cleaned immediately upon receipt with gun oil and 0000 steel wool. Unfortunately, this voids the claim, as the item is to be left in the condition that it is received while the claim is being processed. Also, please note, that the *** process does not cover partial refunds or credits for items that a buyer feels are not as described. The Buyer Protection Plan can cover misrepresentation, however, the item will be relinquished to receive the maximum recovery amount.

Denied me the purchase of my weapon with my legitimate FFL license and would not take my license thats registered with the *** and the federal government.

Good morning *******,
We have replied to your complaint within Ticket *******. Please note that GunBroker.com does not accept a C&R FFL as an FFL for transfers, as the *** does not load C&R licenses in the *** eZCheck. The seller would have willingly completed the transaction, had another FFL transfer dealer been selected. GunBroker did not deny you the completion of your transaction.

I am rejecting this response because:
The seller would not accept my FFL either and they just wanted me to pay and they wouldve split my money and screwed me over so I am not paying for the sale of it and Im not going to deal with either of the two criminal companies

GunBroker does not accept a C&R FFL due to not being able to cross reference it with the **** If we enter your first 3 and last 5 in the *** Ez Check, it tells us that it is an invalid license.
The only response that GunBroker legitimately provided was the following information:
Currently, C&Rs cannot be added to the network. You will need to contact and send your C&R license to the seller to process and complete the transaction.
NOTE: Prior to bidding, please contact the seller directly to verify they are willing to ship to a C&R. Some sellers will not ship to a C&R and require all their sales be sent and transferred through a FFL transfer dealer, regardless if the item is C&R approved.
All terms of sale are per the individual seller's discretion which is why we recommend always contacting the seller directly prior to bidding with all questions concerning the item, payment, shipping, and transfer.
We cannot force a seller to respond to user questions but highly encourage them to do so. If the seller does not respond to your question(s), we recommend not bidding on the item.Customer Answer

Gun Broker customer service fails to answer issues in a timely basis. I have a legitimate complaint that they are overtaxing my purchase. I have provided detail from the state of Colorado which indicates they are wrong and yet they refuse to act or answer on my complaint. The difference is only $55 and some change, however in this day and age we already pay enough in taxes to get screwed for this.

Listed an item for sale on Gunbroker.com and also had it on consignment at a local gun shop. Item sold in the local shop prior to selling bid on gunbroker. As soon as the local shop contacted me I canceled the order online but gunbroker is trying to still charge me selling fees for an item that I didnt sell online. Order online was canceled and never received any money from the buyer on gunbroker or shipped the item to the online buyer. They will not take off the fee without relisting the item but I cant relist as it sold locally in a shop. *** tried to contact them thru the support link on their website with no luck and found a phone number for them with no answer when I attempt to call.

We have reached out to the customer with Ticket ?#*******?. Per the User Agreement and Site Rules, sellers must maintain possession of the item that they have listed for sale. There are steps that must be taken in the event that a listing is sold offline, although, we do prohibit this practice. It appears that these steps were not taken within a timely manner.Initial Complaint

On 10/30/2023, I was the winning bidder of an auction listing by the seller PrestigeAntiques on Gunbroker.com. Payment was promptly sent in the form of a certified check as the seller did not accept credit cards, and the seller sent me a gun after a couple weeks of waiting. The gun was misrepresented on multiple fronts, with the serial number being 5 digits rather than 4 as advertised in the listing, having no scroll engraving on the cylinder despite the seller claiming it had that, and to top it all off, the gun was a modern reproduction made to look antique rather than being an original gun as advertised. I reached out to the auction house that previously sold the gun a month prior and they confirmed that it was the same gun. As gunbroker advertises a "Buyer Protection Program", I decided to file a claim against the seller. I provided all of the documentation as requested by gunbroker in both physical (via mail) and electronic (via email). ********* was initially responsive, however as time went on, the responses became more scarce. Fast forward to now, and I have not received a response from gunbroker since 02/01/2024 despite sending messages on 02/01/2024, 03/04/2024, 03/21/2024, 04/12/2024, and 05/17/2024. They have yet to update my *** claim to reflect that I have provided the requested documentation despite it now being over 6 months from the initial complaint. I understand that the *** terms do not list a full refund, however I would still like a partial refund of $400 as gunbroker advertises, seeing as the listing from the seller was blatantly misrepresentation. To add, the seller remains active, and based on their feedback, has gone on to scam others out of thousands.
