1 starWorst service company I have ever experienced. When the sales representative visited my home, I told him I needed time to review the agreement. Instead, he pressured me into signing on the spot by saying technicians were already waiting outside to start service. He assured me the agreement could be canceled at any time with an $80 fee. In reality, the written contract requires a one-year commitment with an 80% penalty on the remaining balance if canceled early terms that were never disclosed to me upfront. And now they said I need to pay $879.40 cancellation fee for them to offcially close my account. The same representative also took my phone and sent a cancellation email to my previous pest control company, telling me to claim I was moving out of state so I could avoid fees. This was false, and I was charged a cancellation fee as a direct result of his misleading advice. Before signing, I explained that I grow plants and vegetables in my yard, which could contribute to mosquito activity. He assured me the treatments would still be effective. After four months of service, including multiple re-services, the situation has not improved. The mosquito problem is worse than last year, and I am now also dealing with flies multiplying around my property and entering my home. This company engaged in deceptive sales practices and delivered ineffective service.

1 starI am not one to write negative reviews, however I truly want familys to know how this company works to avoid the miserable situation we are currently in. In June, **** Paronetto came to our house multiple times marketing his services. We told him that we were in a contract with northwest and that we did not need the services. He reviewed our contract terms with ********* and ensured that we did not have any cancellation fees or penalties. We still told him that it did not make sense for us to switch because we would have to pay for their installation of termite services. After telling him this he proceeded to give us $120 (a bribe) to sign the contract on the spot with his iPad. He also PROMISED us that their pesticides were all completely natural and unharmful to children (which we have 2 of) AND all pets, pollinators and birds (we have a whole flock of free range chickens). As well as guaranteeing that we could cancel anytime with no penalties or fees. Fast forward to when we tried to cancel our contract with northwest, the one he reviewed and told us there was no termination fee, we were told we would be charged hundreds. In addition we were told by a tech that their ingredients are in fact NOT safe for children, pollinators OR pets, specifically birds. So we cant even use majority of their services that **** promised. We then proceeded to call anthem to cancel the services that he told us we could cancel anytime with no penalties or fees. They told us that we would have to pay $3000 to cancel unless we had video or text footage that proves what **** P said. Our Ring camera deletes footage after 60 days, and all of the texts and calls to **** we have made in the past 6 weeks have gone completely ignored. We have been bounced around on hold, email, upper management for over a MONTH now trying to get this resolved. I have spent my day in tears trying to figure out how to feed my family with now a $3000 debt to this company because of deception.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We are truly sorry to hear about the stress this situation has caused you and your family. Please know it is never our intention to deceive or mislead any customer. The actions you described do not reflect the standards we set for our team at ************************* help ensure clarity and prevent miscommunication, we require every customer to review and sign both a service agreement and a welcome verification form at the time of enrollment. These documents are designed to confirm that what is communicated during the sales process matches what we actually offer, and to make sure no customer feels misled about terms, pricing, or service details. We would like the opportunity to look further into your account and see what options are available. However, a quick search using the email address tied to this review did not bring up an active account in our system. If you could please provide the name, service address, or account number associated with the services, we would be happy to investigate further. We take feedback like this very seriously, and we are committed to addressing your concerns in a fair and transparent manner. 1 starAlmost called the police on a technician that was sent to my house. The technician parked his truck in front of my garage door and then fell asleep in his seat. Because the windows were slightly tinted and he was leaning all the way back in his seat I initially didn't notice that he was even in his vehicle, I thought he may have been performing his service and just didn't knock on my door to let me know he was here. After walking around my property and being unable to find him and contacted Anthem to let them know that their running vehicle was idling in from of my garage (which by the way was blocking my wife from leaving our house), and I can't find their tech. While I was on hold with Anthem I finally noticed he was asleep in the truck and told Anthem that, then they called him to wake him up I guess. Afterwards he started going apesh*t because I suppose Anthem told him off for sleeping in someone's driveway, and he started screaming on his phone right in my driveway. I thought he was about to get violent with me because he knew I called his employer, I even had to go retrieve a gun and keep it in my waist because I thought this guy was mentally unstable and I might need to defend myself. Afterwards he calmed down, quickly and poorly completed the service and left.Afterwards I tried to cancel my service with Anthem and they told me because I still had a year left on my two year contract not only did I need to pay a $ 250 cancellation fee but I also need to pay them the remaining years worth of service for the contract which would be over $1000. I don't even mind paying the cancellation fee but making me pay for a years worth of service that I don't even want is criminal, especially after one of their convicted felon, mentally unstable techs almost lost his mind on my property while my wife and kids were home. Luckily my security cameras recorded the incident with the tech and I am about to send it to the media and post it on NextDoor. ***** this company.Review fromRosemary H

1 starI recently left *********************** to hire Anthem Pest Control for **************** I was told that they checked the traps once a year for a total fee of $100.00 per year. Their representative came to my house and had me sign his Ipad based solely on his promises. There was no contract to read. I called today to find out why they were charging me $25 every few month and was told their fee to inspect was $400.00 per year and that if I cancelled, I would have to pay over $500 for them to retrieve the traps. They are perpetrating a fraud and should be investigated.Review fromAbcdef G

1 starWhen you cold call / knock on peoples door multiple times throughout a 6 month period and the homeowner tells you several times theyre not interested, most would take that as, theyre not interested and not to come back. Instead you keep knocking and they tell you nicely theyre not interested, you refuse to get off their property after multiple attempts and then you finally do and yell F. You at the potential customer. Yup, thats a way to get business.Review fromCarlos C

1 starA sales *** pitched the services as an initial treatment for that same day with a follow up treatment a month later to complete one full treatment. I was assured that I would not be charged $119 until the second visit, but I was charged immediately after the first treatment. Then, after watching the informational video, and reading the second contract, I found the terms did not match with what the sales *** offered. He did not mention this was for a 24-month contract with a $230 cancellation fee. I did not sign this contract. The sales *** stated the service was $119 per visit every 3 months that could be cancelled anytime and recommended a full year service. The *** omitted any and all details pertaining to any early cancellation fees or a 24-month term commitment. The resolution *** stated she would look into the matter and follow up with me, but I did not receive any follow up communication from her. I was then charged $230. When I reached out the company, I was informed this occurred due to an automated system as I had not scheduled the second visit. I was then transferred over to the resolution *** and she confirmed the sales *** made the offer when he was not authorized to do so. After some back and forth, I was just getting the runaround and unable to reach a desired resolution.I could not trust this company any further, so I cancelled my services, and the resolution *** stated the $230 charge would cover in lieu of the cancellation fee. The resolution *** stated that even though I did not sign the contract after the instructional video, the company was still entitled to the $230 because I signed off on the initial treatment. The initial service was signed off false pretenses and I fell victim to dishonest, disingenuous, and unethical business practice. The $230 fee should be null and void and refunded.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Were genuinely sorry to hear about your frustration and want to clarify a few important points regarding how we onboard new customers and the safeguards we have in place to ensure transparency.
We understand that there may have been a misunderstanding during your interaction with our sales representative, and we sincerely apologize if the expectations set did not align with our standard agreement terms. We take these concerns seriously and have reviewed this situation thoroughly.
As part of our customer onboarding process, every new agreement includes both a signed service agreement and a digital contract verification form. This two-step process was created to ensure that each customer is fully informed of the service frequency, pricing and billing structure, length of the agreement, and our cancellation policy. These materials are designed to protect customers from miscommunication and to provide full transparency before any services are rendered.
In your case, records indicate that the initial treatment was signed for and performed, and that the contract verification processwhich includes a summary of termswas completed. While we understand you may not have felt comfortable proceeding after further reviewing the contract terms, this is why the verification process is in placeto allow for a final review before moving forward with the full agreement.
Regarding the cancellation fee, we do regret any confusion surrounding its application. It is standard for our system to process the early termination fee when a contract is cancelled prior to the agreed-upon term. However, in instances where a sales representative misrepresents the agreement, we do work to find a fair and reasonable resolution for the customer. Based on your notes, it appears that an internal exception was made to apply the $230 payment toward cancellation rather than pursuing further charges.
We acknowledge your concern and dissatisfaction, and your experience has been reviewed with the appropriate managers, including the sales and customer resolution teams. We are continuously refining our training and quality control processes to prevent any miscommunication in the future.
If you believe there are still unresolved matters or if you'd like to speak further with a senior representative, we would be happy to continue the conversation offline. Please feel free to reach out to us.
We do appreciate the opportunity to learn from your feedback, and we wish you the best moving forward.Review fromJerin C

1 starI feel completely scammed by Anthem Pest Control. When their sales agent came to our door, I explicitly asked multiple times if there was a contract involved. He assured me each time that there was no contract, which made us feel comfortable signing up for mosquito treatment. However, when I later called to check on the next service date, I was shocked to learn we were actually locked into a 12-month contract. Canceling early would cost $290, and each visit is $119 with a required minimum of five visits. If I had known the truth, I would have gone with Nature Scene, a company that truly doesnt require a contract and offers more affordable pricing. This is the second time weve fallen into a pest control scamfirst with Moxie, and now Anthem. On top of that, they push customers to leave ****** reviews on the very first day of servicebefore any real results can be seen.Has the pest problem improved? Not at all. And now they tell us theres no guarantee the treatment will actually work. So whats the takeaway? Do not open your door to pest control salespeople doing door-to-door pitches. I've learned my ****** the hard way and will never make that mistake again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Im truly sorry to hear that you feel misled and disappointed following your recent interactions with our team.
We take concerns like this very seriously and never want any customer to feel that they were misinformed or pressured. Our intention is always to provide clear and transparent information about the services and agreements we offer. That said, we understand your frustration regarding the terms of the service, particularly if you were under the impression that no contract was involved.
As part of our process, all customers are presented with an electronic agreement at the time of signup, which outlines the service frequency, contract length, and cancellation policy. While we understand that the agreement may not have aligned with the verbal explanation you received, the signed document remains the official record of the terms. We always encourage customers to review these terms thoroughly at the time of signing and to bring up any questions or concerns right away so they can be addressed before service begins.
We also appreciate your feedback regarding our request for reviews. While we do invite feedback after initial service to gauge satisfaction with the technician and first impressions, we certainly understand that long-term results take time, especially with seasonal services like mosquito treatment. If your pest issue has not improved, wed welcome the opportunity to reassess your property and ensure the service plan is being carried out effectively.
We truly regret that your experience hasnt met expectations, and wed be glad to take a closer look at your account to explore any options that may help resolve this matter.
Thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention.Review fromRick W

1 starBeware! This company has come to my house 3xs begging for our patronage. The last time was at 9pm on a weeknight, despite having private property, no trespassing and no solicitation signage visible. He begged. Things almost got serious because he refused leave after repeatedly being told no thanks, this is private property. Do not fall for their pushy sales tactics. You can DIY super easy your own pest control anyways!

1 starAnthem came to my house one time. The guy haphazardly threw some sort of pellets all over my front porch, the walkways, and my back porch. I let them know multiple times that we had 3 indoor cats and there are neighborhood cats outside. Within a few days of tracking these pellets into the house, one of my cats died. A 5 year old otherwise healthy cat. After they promised repeatedly their formula was not at all harmful to pets, Ive found this to be completely untrue, especially after researching the ingredients. This company has persistently contacted me. Ive asked them to cancel my service and then I get no reply for weeks. Then, I get a call and repeat that I do not want the service and the ingredients were in breech of our contract. They still call me and think they are going to put these toxic materials in my yard. Ive been transferred to the cancelation department 2x now to cancel and no one answers. I get a voice message. They are harassing me after months. My cat died and yet Anthem persists on me getting this service. ****** it!! Just please cancel it. I have 2 other cats to think about as well as children. You lied to me about ingredients to begin with. Im so displeased with this service.
