    I need my personal information removed from smart background checks. This company took my information and posted it online without my permission with my name, address and telephone number and I am even scared for my life because my address and phone is exposed for the world to see. My privacy has been violated and if this is not resolved, I will seek legal actions on the way forward. This company needs to be removed from all sites. I didn't give anyone permission to publish my personal information I had a high school person contact me on Saturday actually they called me and I asked him how she got my phone number and she saidto me I googled your name and your information came up

    I need my personal information removed from smart background checks.     Multiple attempts and I am unable to find a way to request removal of my personally information from their website. The steps provided do not work, the instructions given on the 800 number do not work, the link to email customer support does not work. I have filed this formal complaint to the BBB in the hopes that I can get assistance to process my request to remove all the information related to me from this site and provide the means to as how my information was obtained and the means from which it regularly updated. I am requesting this to avoid any action against the owner/owners of this site and affiliated associates. Additionally note that the email address shown on the site is an account that was compromised in 5 data breaches and was being used by scammers. That email account is closed. Also I dont even know most of the people listed as relatives. No clue who they might be or how they became connected to my name.

    The owner of the website smartbackgroundchecks.com disclosed publicly my personal identifiable information including my date of birth, phone number, and other very sensitive information without my permission. This is a violation of my privacy rights and exposes me to malicious attacks from identity thieves, scammers, and others. My efforts to contact customer service and follow website procedures to opt-out and remove all my personal information have been unsuccessful. I need all my information to be immediately removed from the website.

    On Saturday January 11, 2025 the owner of the website smartbackgroundchecks.com posted publicly and explicitly exposed my personal information including my date of birth, phone number, email address, bank transactions, income, employment, and other very sensitive information. The website also exposed my family members sensitive information as well. The information was exposed without my consent nor the consent of my family members. This is a violation of my constitutional right to privacy and a violation of the Privacy Act of 1974. The malicious public display of such sensitive information exposes me and my family to hackers, scammers, identity thieves, and the like. I have tried to contact customer service and utilize the website's procedures for opt-out and removal of my personal information, but to no avail. This is unacceptable! It is malicious to expose sensitive information in unlocked background checks of me and my family members without consent. All my personal information needs to be removed immediately from the website without delay.

    I sent page cache removal to Google. 

    When I access the bing tool and put your website along with my phone number and name it shows no cached page with that information but, when I search my phone number ************ in bing it shows my number, name *** C ***** and family members pointing to website ******************************

    I am rejecting this response because: 
    I previously filed a complaint against this business and BBB closed the incident without resolution. I asked for the company www.smartbackgroundchecks.com to remove my phone number ************ and my family member names from reference to their web site address. As you can see by the attached image, a search shows only results from www.smartbackgroundchecks.com. I already contacted, ******, bing and duckduckgo. My phone number ************, my name *** C, ***** and family members and relatives are listed on information pointing to www.smartbackgroundchecks.com. Please do not close this ticket until www.smartbackgroundchecks.com removed my information. Please see attached image file.
