      I am writing to formally file a complaint against HotelPlanner.com regarding an unfair and unreasonable cancellation policy.On March 11, 2025, I contacted HotelPlanner.com to cancel a reservation my 81-year-old father, who has stage 4 cancer that has spread to his brain, mistakenly booked for March 14, 2025. Due to his medical condition, he is cognitively impaired and did not intend to make this reservation.I explained the situation to HotelPlanner.coms customer service representative, informing them that we are currently in the process of obtaining power of attorney for my father. Despite this, I was told that the reservation could not be canceled, nor could any exceptions be made, even under these extreme circumstances.I find this policy to be both unethical and lacking in basic compassion for individuals with serious medical conditions. Given that I contacted them three days before the reservation date, I believe the company should show reasonable flexibility in situations involving severe illness and cognitive impairment.I am requesting that HotelPlanner.com:1.Cancel the reservation immediately without **************** and revise their cancellation policies to allow exceptions for customers with medical emergencies or cognitive impairments.I appreciate the BBBs assistance in resolving this matter and ensuring that companies like HotelPlanner.com operate with fairness and compassion toward customers in difficult situations.
