I AM CURRENTLY RENTING TIRES FROM RNR. AFTER REVIEWING MY CONTRACT PAPERWORK I REALIZED THAT 2 SERVICES THEY OFFER(******** AND ROAD HAZARD) ARE COMPLETELY OPTIONAL AND ARE NOT REQUIRED IN ORDER TO RENT TIRES FROM THEM. I CALLED THE COMPANY TO MAKE A PAYMENT AND EXPLAINED THAT I DID NOT WANT EITHER OF THE OPTIONAL SERVICES. I ASKED THEM TO REMOVE BOTH ******* AND NO ONGER CHARGE ME FOR THEM, THEY REFUSED AND SAID THAT IT IS NOT OPTIONAL AND THAT I HAVE TO HAVE BOTH SERVICES EVEN THOUGH THE CONTRACT PAPERWORK CLEARLY STATES THAT BOTH SERVICES ARE 100% OPTIONAL. THIS LOCATION TALKS FAST AND DOES NOT CLEARLY EXPLAIN THE CONTRACT TO YOU AT ALL. THEY ALSO PRESSURE YOU INTO REVIEWING THEM ON ****** WHILE THEY STAND OVER YOU AND WATCH. I WOULD LIKE FOR THE COMPANY TO REFUND ME FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE 2 OPTIONAL SEVICES AND REMOVE THESE FROM ALL FUTURE ********.Business Response

We spoke with ************** on 12-24-2022 about her concerns on the charges on her agreement. We made her aware that the if she was to put insurance on the tires through her issuance and bring something in showing that then the charges can be taken off and she would refund all charges. ************** agreed to this per or recorded convection on the 12-24-2022. I have made 4 attempts to contact ************** 2 via phone the other 2 via text and have not been able to reach her or get a return call. I have attached 2 screen shorts showing us reaching out via text and also have audio of leaving voice mails plus the conversation we had on the 24th of dec.Initial Complaint

I had a **************************** contract with RNR Tires, I made a few payments on my account. Before installing the rims I was approached by the Account Manager ******. He told me that my car needed to be lifted and shaved to fit the rims and he told me they offer the service. He called a tire tech over while he was installing rims on another customer car and he told me 350 to do it and i had to pay via Cashapp to him. i agreed and the tech did the lift and shave in RNR Store during business hours and on the clock after he was finished with the car before me. The lift and shave was not done correctly i had to come back 3x to adjust and the lift also carved extremely deep grooves on the inside part of the tire from excessive rubbing on the strut tower weaken the tires and caused my strut to break and i wasn't able to drive for 2 weeks until i got it fixed because RNR refused to repair the damage saying that's not a service they offered but i was offered that service on and in RNR establishment while employee was on clock. now when i 1st started the contract i was using my chime bank to authorize RNR payments. Then I spoke with the manager and gave him my PNC account & Routing info to pay in full $4500 no issues there. Then a month later manager called back saying my check didn't go thru said he processed it on the 9th but the paper mailed to me about the failed transaction stated the 19th so I don't know what kind of fraud activity RNR Corporate is allowing there managers to do but i emailed proof documents, video, bank statements that my rims was indeed paid off and before i paid them off i also made a few weekly payment with my PNC account & routing info and no issues with those transaction. Now when i paid them off he waited a whole month before calling me again about the payment problem and i know that it doesn't take a month for transactions to settle. The manager had it out for me because i told him my car lift was damage by on clock RNR employee on and in RNR storeBusiness Response

I am sorry to hear about your issue. I will look into the matter. In the mean time could you upload you bank documents showing payment? Also, the cash-App Receipt if you could. This would help expedite the investigation.

I called on Dec 2nd, 2022, to make a payment and ask how much owed on balance because I would like to pay off balance. We began payments in May of 2022 and paid on time more than monthly payment in contract. I had asked my boyfriend if anyone had mentioned it was the end of a 6-month agreement and if we wanted to pay off balance or continue contract. Nobody did in November when payment was made. When I asked on December 2nd what the balance was, I was told I could not pay off the balance of the 6-month agreement but if I had asked on November 30th I could have. It was only ******, owing to the original pay off price of *******. My boyfriend's sister passed away in November and it honestly did not cross his mind about asking about balance pay off either. I feel like the person taking the payment could have professionally brought to your attention that we were in the final month of the early payoff agreement and asked if we would like to pay off or continue for another 12 months. Why would we want to pay double what the wheels and tires are worth? These were not brand new but used when we purchased them. Two days difference in being allowed to pay off balance. I was ready to bring in another vehicle to get new rims and tires. I emailed to the address provided from the website asking to speak to someone about paying off balance and have not heard back. We just went ahead and made another payment. Would really like to pay off balance. Which would now be minus another 137 and some chance form payment made on the second. Please get back with me and let me pay the balance. Thank you.**********, ******* storeBusiness Response

I purchased a set of 4 tires for my car in September of 2021. I had an option to pay for the tires outright within 6 months or make monthly payments. Ive been making monthly payments of $70.62 every 2 weeks for the last year. RNR told I owed $271 in September and now today 11/26/22 they are still saying I owe the same amount. They keep telling me I owe this amount every time I make a payment. The amount is not decreasing as I make my payments. Its staying the same. Im not that bad in math but it seems like something not right.Business Response

The Complainant rented tires from our store on 9/18/2021 (copies of the rental agreement and pay history are attached for reference purposes). Section 3 of the agreement describes the terms and conditions of the lease, as well as the formula for determining a payoff amount during the term of the lease. He was offered a 180 day same as cash option, but failed to pay the weekly rate necessary to pay the account off in six months. At the end of the six month same as cash opportunity, the contract reverted to the terms of the lease agreement. The pay history, on page 3, indicates in the circled amount, the amount of the total payments applied to the rental costs. Store personnel will gladly go over the pay history with the Complainant and verify the amount necessary to acquire ownership of the tires. He has not been overcharged.Customer Answer

Sincerely,
*****************************4 weeks ago I was told I owed $270. I paid $140 4 weeks ago. I shouldnt still owe $270 every time I call to make a payment. Thats what Im saying. I made a payment last week and I still owe $270. This is what Im talking about. I know I still owe thats why Im paying it. But every time I make a payment its staying at $270. How?

I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
*****************************ok now you see what Im saying. The $70.52 Im paying is not being applied to my balance. Only $27 of the $70.52 is being applied. $334.58-$70.52 is not $307. Why is it not being applied and how long has this been going on?

The claimant should understand there is a difference in a buy-out price at any time and the balance of the total cost to acquire ownership. Paragraph 3 of the Rental Purchase Agreement fully explains the difference in the terms. The Claimant's total cost to acquire ownership is $1,950.00. The early purchase option that *** be exercised at ant time (the buyout price as indicated on the receipts) is determined by the total cost to acquire ownership less the total of rental payments (excluding taxes and fees) made times 50% plus tax. While the $50.00 rental payment shown on the receipt is applied to the total cost to acquire ownership, the buyout amount is computed by the formula explained in the Agreement.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: As you can see. Only $27 dollars of the $70.62 I pay every 2 weeks goes towards my balance. I understand what the merchant is saying. But do they understand what I am saying. I'm tired of repeating myself. You can look at the bill and the payment and see that some ones math is off. $50 from $334 is not $307. That's coming from their invoice.
Sincerely,

On several occasions (July, august, September, and October) this business has debit money out of my account without permission, when confronted about it they have apologized assured that this would not happen again and it continues. One of the workers told me it was an accident then I spoke to store manager *** he assured that it would not happen Again, next I spoke to district manager ***** and was assured that would not happen but here we are. When I called today they had the audacity to have an attitude (***) then I called corporate and the lady brushed me off as well . I will be filing A police report as this is unacceptable!! On 10/18/2022 I received a quote from RNR Tire for $1.131.00. I paid 100 down and the next day 10/19/2022 they took my tires off and put new ones one. Then they gave me a contract for the amount of $4.523.76 and had me making semi monthly payments until 10/15/2025 and would not accept any additional payments to be subtracted from the balance. I paid the tires off in full the next day, 10/20/2022 and as of 11/2/2022 they have deducted payments from my bank account twice. They have replaced one payment and am still waiting for the second payment to be replaced. This is nothing but a scam. I work for an attorney and my daytime number is ************.Business Response

We were able to review Ms. ***** agreement with ** and realized we had made a clerical error when setting up her agreement. This resulted in an extended lease term and higher payout amount. We were able to explain the issue to ************ by phone yesterday, and offered her an extended tire warranty for 12 months on her tires. She was also satisfied with our explanation of what happened. We value every customers business and we apologized to her for the mistake. We also took the opportunity to coach our team members on the clerical issue to ensure it does not happen again. ************ told us she would withdraw the BBB complaint and she was happy with our resolution of her issue.Initial Complaint

On 5/7/2022 I purchased a set of 4 tires from ***********************. I am experiencing premature wear on these tires. When I took my car in to be serviced at the dealership they were going to do a tire rotation as part of my scheduled service for my 2021 ******* Elantra. I was informed that they could not do the rotation because the tires were already too worn to make it safe to do so. Mind you I only have about ***** all highway miles on these tires at most. I took the car back to RNR Tire to see about replacements only to be told that they do not warranty tires unless I am on their "Lease Program" Since I had paid off my tires I did not have a warranty. Your tires are supposed to have a ****** mile warranty on them. ALL of these tires are already between 2/32 and 4/32 of an inch of tread left. After shelling out over $800 for tires, I expect to get more than 6 months of use out of them.Business Response

First of all I am a disabled ******** citizen. I went to ********** express in ******, **. think that this business actually cared about those of us who can't afford to come off $1000 at 1 time in the winter for good reliable tires. At first they led me to believe that ALL of the perks of buying the tires like free tire alignment, roadside assistance and things of that nature were JUST because I was buying their product. EVERYTHING has a separate price tag, I had to tell ****-the store manager that I did not need the Roadside assistance 3 times before it got taken off, and I know for a fact I was still charged for ATLEAST 2 of those times. I ended up having to have an operation so I was in the hospital about 1.5 weeks. I let them know I was temporarily struggling as I had to be off work at my part time job. I let them know worse case scenario I get paid on the 3rd of each month so I could just make a double payment if that's was the case. Still I received harassing phone calls. So on Oct. 31, Halloween, the ********** crew of ****** came to my house, an individual with ALOT of Drs appts, for my disabling condition. Anyway not only did they repo the tires, but they also took my rims. It's hard to fathom how heartless this business is. They left my car literally on cinder blocks. Pictures to follow.Business Response

****************** signed a lease agreement with ** on August 23rd. Included in our services for a lease are 12 months of 24-Hour Roadside Assistance, lifetime rotation and balance, flat repair, locks and lugs. We do not charge separately for any of these services, contrary to ********************** complaint. He failed to make a second payment toward his lease, and failed to communicate with us about the payment at that time. On October 11 he told us that he would like to return the tires to us. We returned the tires as he requested and verified that he had his original factory wheels in his possession. We offer a favorable lease option to our customers and strive to offer the highest level of service to everyone in our communities.Initial Complaint
