I purchased a .99 cent background check from information.com. I was not told I was also signing up for a ***** recurring monthly payment. The report provided has inaccurate information and clearly isn't what was advertised. One of the most glaring errors is in the section for any driver's licenses.. This report states there is no information and I currently have - and have had since I was in my late teens - a valid Florida driver's license.Business Response

On June 14 2025 I did a ****** search on myself. I decided to obtain the report and the price offered was 99 cents and I was given a 10 minute time limit to make the transaction. Once completed they said the transaction was denied and instructed me to open the notification from my bank and give my approval (which leads me to believe this is a standard practice). I went on information.com to look up information about someone named ******** *. Upon completion of the search but never actually seeing anything as far as what they found they offered me a $0.99 5-day trial. Then they said they would charge me $29.99 per month after the 5-day trial. I signed up for it. They charged me $29.99 and just ignored the fact that they offered me a 5-day trial for 99 cents. I want my money back. I want this membership canceled as well. That is dirty. Not only that they think my name is the person that I'm looking information up on. I have the same complaint as someone else only I have pending charges for 1.00, 6.99 and *****. I am copying the other cx complaint because it is spot on for me expressing the same issue.I advise caution when visiting or doing business with information.com. Based on results (paid) the site offers background checks and personal information services but fails to provide any unique or valuable data beyond what is freely available on the internet. I was charged for services and I know there is more information including arrests that were not included in report provided by information.com. The site is misleading and I was charged for services that do not meet expectations. This site is operating in a deceptive manner and I would avoid using it and would urge others to seek reputable, transparent alternatives for background information services.
