07/07/2025 - Attempted to order a crimal search from this business, which was advertised at 99 cents. Upon reviewing the charge, I was charged an addition $6.99... I called and was advised there was a checkbox for me to select to opt out of the additional charge, but it either did not display or it was small fine print that I did not see. I called and was told they would cancel future charges, but I could not get a refund. In addition to misleading advertisement, I also did not have the option to cancel my account online.Business Response

I have contacting information.com service twice asking that they cancel the advertised subscription. I have not used it but they have report searches on my account and continue billing $35.13 , $6.99 and $1.00. They have no way of canceling on their website and you can not delete your credit card to keep them from charging you. I want this stopped and would like at least a credit for the past two months to my credit card as I have tried cancelling it and they say they have a high call volume and the same happens when you email them asking to get it cancelled. This was a free month sign up and now for months they are charging me.Business Response

Hello Mavrick Provo,
This message is in reference to BBB Case #: 23536273.
We have received and reviewed your BBB complaint. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
Please keep in mind that our service begins with a trial period, of which you have full access to our comprehensive database and unlimited searches. After the trial, if not canceled, the monthly subscription period begins and will bill each month going forward. We apologize you were having difficulty cancelling online and contacting our support team. We can confirm we received your email request on 6/30, but have not yet responded due to high email volume. Please note that our customer service hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm EST. We recommend contacting our phone support team when looking for expedited assistance. It appears you signed up for our trial on 5/21/2025. Since the account was not cancelled, it attempted to bill for the monthly subscription of $35.13 after the trial was over. However, the first attempt is showing as a "failed" transaction. Our system continued to attempt to collect the funds, which is why you were billed on 5/27 and 6/27 for the monthly subscription.
Please keep in mind that when completing your report search, we extend a promotion offering an add-on subscription for unlimited PDF downloads for $6.99. This charge is separate from the trial period. Upon reviewing your account, we observed your self-selected acceptance of our PDF offer.
Per your request, your account has been canceled as of today. Your cancellation confirmation number is 01L9A-AX0Q3.
We are pleased to inform you that we have approved your refund request and have processed the refund. The amount of $85.24 has been credited back to your original payment method. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to reflect in your account, as processing times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer.
We will deem this complaint as resolved and if you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact our Customer Support team at ************** or email **************************************.

I purchased what was supposed to be one time access to information. I was attempting to retrieve information on a person to verify their identity and prove or disprove the likeliness of a scam. Once I paid the one time 99cent option to view one page. I attempted to view the information it said it would provide. there was no information. just a list of what they promised with each saying "not found" or "no matches" and when i navigated around the page to try and better understand their layout I was offered an add for their "premium" subscription which I declined. I then navigated away from the main page in an attempt to make better use of their crappy layout and complete lack of real data or information ANYWHERE on their page. instead of loading a new page on the same website it opened an entirely new window. I closed all of these windows and gave up trying to use their shoddy website to find what I needed. When I checked my bank account today I had not been charged the 99cents. I had not even been charged for just one transaction. I had been charged for two seperate transactions that I did not consent to. One was for $6.99 the other was for $34.13 or something close to that. I have already disputed these transactions with my bank. my problem is that I have been charged for items I did not receive and I have been charged for items that I did not agree to purchase.Business Response

I ordered one single report from this company, who said it was $0.99 charge. They NEVER said it was any sort of ongoing membership until after the fact, when they sent me an email receipt stating that I had a "5 day trial" for 99 cents and could cancel at any time, otherwise I'd be charged $33 a month. But when I checked my account, they had already charged my card over $36 for the $0.99 report! This is total fraud. I demand a refund, and no further charges from them.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:They dropped the first authorization hold on my account, responded that my account was cancelled- And then proceeded to charge me AGAIN after saying they canceled the subscription. Please see attached picture showing they have charged me again today. This is beyond unacceptable. Do NOT place any further holds, charges, nothing on my account!! I'm reporting it to my bank as fraud as well.
Sincerely,

Today I paid for a trial costing 1 dollar under one of middle name and last initial and was gonna cancel because I was gonna cancel it after I showed someone how easy it was to find information about someone using myself. Information.com then proceeded to turn on autobilling and charged me the monthly amount before the date they showed they were gonna charge for it and before I had the chance to cancel the account. Now I have to wait 2 days to call them and request a refund and cancel the account. Biggest scam ever. They will charge you a total of ***** for the week trial and the first month.Business Response
