Last week I used the service, paying 99 cents to look up a record. I paid from my ****** account. Today I was billed $29.99 from my ****** account from **********************. I went to my ****** account and saw that the $29.99 was a monthly subscription charge. I also saw that last week I was charged $6.99 for something I didn't agree to. I immediately called Information.com this morning when I saw the $29.99 charge. The *** told me that I had only a short time to cancel the subscription (5 days, maybe?) but I didn't even know that I had signed up for a subscription. I just wanted a one time use for 99 cents. She told me she would cancel the subscription for the $6.99 and the $29.99, but I would receive no refund for the expenses I never agreed to.This is sneaky practice and I would like to get all of my money back, except for the 99 cents I agreed to pay.Business Response

On 6/14/2024 I contacted Information.com LLC via phone call to ************ and requested customer service cancel my account immediately. I was told it will be cancelled. My charge card was billed $6,99 on 6/25/2024 and again $6.99 on 7/25/2024 for a total charge of $13.98, The charges need to be credited and close out account immediately as per my previous request.Business Response

I was looking up a person using public records and I agreed to pay $0.99 for a one time report. When I checked my card a few minutes later, I had been charged $29.99. On Aug 15th I set out to look up a person for a 1 time fee of .99 cents. I never even got the report and a couple hours later I seen where they charged my debit card $*****! So I did a one-time payment for a dollar and they're saying that I signed up for a subscription because I didn't call back before 5 days was up and cancel. There's no place online to cancel. I don't recall signing up for no subscription. I've tried to deal with them and they refused to cooperate and they've now charged me $60 in fees cuz they're charging a monthly fee. I would like to file a complaint. 8/6/2024. I did purchase a report for .99. This was suppose to be a one time purchase it never said anything about a subscription. But this renews apparently in five days. They also charged me an additional 6.99 that I did not approve that also renews. So I tried to cancel the subscriptions but there is no way to cancel these. I will call the number tomorrow that is listed but they should not be putting out there that it is a one time fee and also charging charges that they didn't ask authorization for.
