    4/3/2023 a man came to our front door representing ecoshield and offering their service FREE the first time. We let them spray their service & then realized they charged us for this first service. They had been given our charge number. I called the company & talked to Rose & told her what the man had originally said to me. She then agreed with us that we had been LIED to (which Im sure she will not admit again) & I said I wanted to cancel, then we received a notice that they were coming again & I called & repeated that we had cancelled. **** said pretty much tuff you owe ** another $159.00 dollars! Very bad! Absolute scammers & taking advantage of older people in here, hopefully they will be stopped!

     This e-mail is regarding case # ID ********.

    We were originally (as per our complaint filled with you) re-assured our 1st spray with Ecoshield was FREE.

    Then we shortly received our master card statement and $159.00 was charged to our account. This is when we then decided to call & cancel with Ecoshield and were told "TUFF".

    We are not seeking a refund for this money.  We just want it to be over and leave ** alone.

    We also received a text on May 13th, 2023 at 8;27 a.m. concerning owing them.
    I originally did go to the management office here at *************** off rt. 70. I informed them that this Ecoshield was going door to door and soliciting service for their company.  This should not be allowed in a private community.

    This company - Ecoshield is scamming older people.

    I have been in contract with this company for one year. I had problems with the company, the entire year with the service and the employees. The employees are very unprofessional, very rude to not have any knowledge of this type of service. I have called and complained numerous times to the company. I am now on my last month contract I called to cancel, and they still proceeded to tell me that I have to pay the contract fee if I close one month earlier. They dont open offer any compensation or anything for me to close this account one month early. This business is all about getting money for no service for inappropriate behavior coming to my house and employees that are even knowledgeable and very lazy to complete the service I still see bugs I still have issues and if I complain about the issues, they have a reason why Im having the issue which has nothing to do with their service. This is the most horrible place Ive ever worked with for pest solutions, and I will never have them come back again I highly do not recommend this company to anyone stay away.

    This establishment sends sales people into my neighborhood which is gated and a No Solicitation policy in place and they knock on doors. I was rushed thru a contract on an iPad that ******, the sales person went through in seconds and said initial here and here and sign. I was never told about the waving a the 3 day right to cancel in their contract. ****** was very deceiving and smooth talking and it was done quickly. Told him my husband normally handled these things and we may already be with a pest service that the *** recommends for all homes. ****** said we could cancel if that was the case. That was a total lie. I have spent hours trying to get them to cancel this contract. Each representative says okay your cancelled then two days later another one calls and the same thing over and over again. I have talked to 4 representatives and they all say I am cancelled and it just keeps going. Now they want another $150 to cancel saying this was a promotion if you signed. The next thing you know you have waved all right to cancel even though they say you could if you had another service. They already got $150 from us in payment now they want another $150. This is a big problem if you look at Yelp or ****** reviews you will see this is a common practice for them. They blanket a neighborhood come onto your property uninvited and run thru a scam set up to be pest control service. Way over priced and horrible business practices. Any help would be appreciated.     A young salesman from Eco Shield rang my doorbell today. I told him and pointed to my NO Soliciting sign and he continued with his spiel. I advised him again. He paid no attention. After the 3rd time and telling him I wanted his managers name and phone number, he still didn't stop. It appears this is the sales tactic - Don't take no for an answer that the owners have instilled in them. This is unacceptable. Please add this to your lengthy list of complaints against this company.

    EcoShield solicited me on 8/30/22. They said they treated fire ants I agreed to have them treat my yard for $149. They told me they treated by monthly and that the egg cycle made it so that I should treat at least 2 times before canceling to kill the next gen of eggs they had me sign on an electronic box. I had them come 3 times and decided to cancel. I called and canceled and the lady said fine- I thought it was over. A month later I get a call saying I am in a 2 year contract and cant cancel- now Im getting calls and texts constantly saying I owe back charges(they have not treated again, I have cameras) I looked up their ratings and it became clear this is a scam they also dont let you cancel after their made up 2 years without writing them. They took the signature and placed it on a contract I never saw and wasnt told about- ironically on the fake contract they dont even treat fire ants.

    The company was misrepresented during the sales process with the sales associate making untrue statements of fact that induced me to enter a contract. In 20+ years of maintaining my ******* property, I always hire local companies - lawn maintenance, landscaper, pool maintenance, roofing, solar, electrician, plumber, hvac, etc. EcoShield was presented to me as a local company by the sales associate when in fact it is a franchise-based business with corporate headquarters in *******. This is the first time in those 20+ years that I have been lied to by a company in order to secure a contract; I've been fortunate that all my other contractors were truthful regarding their business associations. Shame on me for trusting the word of an EcoShield representative.

    However, I do have proof that EcoShield forwarded this balance to a collection agency (see attached).  I would like for EcoShield to correct this credit report.

    This company solicited our property to pest control services and offered to spray the residence with money back guarantee. The verbal agreement was the need for pest control services on the interior of the property. They would send a confirmation text for appointment, we would agree to that appointment time to allow them access into our home. However, their techs would show up for the visit either days or hours outside of the appointment window therefore not actually servicing our property because we were not home. After running into this issue on 3 separate occasions of 6 months, we decided to cancel our services with them as they clearly had no intention of fulfilling their end of the agreement. They are now harassing us for canceling a contract early that THEY did not fulfill the services on. They refused to send me a copy of the original agreement stating we would owe an early termination fee despite many requests via email and over the phone. They have been calling our personal cell phones sometimes 3-4 times a day harassing us to pay the bill, despite our attempts to get a copy of the contract they claim we agreed to. This business is completely fraudulent and needs to be investigated.

    I entered a contract with their door to door sales representative. I was told that exterminating service was available between scheduled visits if I called. I also asked about my commitment and responsibility to the company. I was told if I I was not happy I could cancel at anytime. I would have no monetary commitment. I tried reaching EcoShield between visits in September, I called at least 5 times. No response. I had a scheduled visit coming up and reached out for interior service as per the text message. No response. A week later the same text, I called for interior service. No response. At this point I was afraid of damage to my home, since I was not getting the proper extermination. I called EcoShield and canceled. I am now being harassed and billed $191.00 for the first visit, since I canceled. I have spoken with them 5-6 times since cancelling explaining they voided the contract by not providing services that I believed I contracted for. All I get is you signed a contract. I keep reiterating that they have failed on multiple occasions to provide service.

    Attached are invoices or Accounts ******* and ******* Eco Shield cannot provide any services at my new home in ******* and since they are not able to provide any services they are in default of their own agreement.  ******** and ******* law both require that they must provide their service before they are allowed to charge and they cannot provide such services in the apartment I rent in ********. Thus their claim is invalid. 

     

    Contract law is clear in they must provide a service and id they cannot they cannot make a claim.  Their operation is basically a scam designed to extort ins.  I'm 76 years old and have seen many such scams before. These people prey upon unsuspecting customers especially older individuals.

    I am rejecting this response because:    Ecoshield represents by sending additional bills and letters that they are entitled to be compensated.

    Their reply to the BBB  confirms our position as stated in this BBB complaint that they are unable to perform any type of service at my residence *******.

    This statement by Ecoshield can be and is a clear statement by Ecoshield that they are going to be unable to perform the services they claim they are entitled to receive comoensation for.  Effectively they have stated that they are going to be in breach of their service agreement. Since they do not have the ability to perform the services they have agreed to perform.

    Such failure to perform hereby terminates any obligtion by  **** to continue compensation payments to Ecoshield in light of the breach by Ecoshield.

    This complaint correctly applies to Ecoshield in *******.  Invoices clearly indicate "Ecoshield Pest Solutions - ******* Central"

    Ecoshield attempts to avoid their obligation by falsely telling the BBB that this complaint should not apply to the ******* operation.  This is a lie and they attempt to get rid of this compaint whch highlights a complete lack of integrity at  Ecoshield. 

    **** will seek compensation for any damages **** may incurr, plus legal expenses, resulting from any action taken by Ecoshield in their attempt to continue this Scam.

    Gentlemen:I have asked that the above service agreements be terminated immediately.I have moved and rent an apartment in *******, ******* The apartment management of the complex is responsible for pest control. They will not allow another third party service company perform services which they provide and are responsible for. Additonally the ******* lease agreement will not allow any tenant to contract for any services on the developer/owners property.Additonally the two party service agreement is invalid since both parties to a two party agreement must be ready and able to provide the services agreed upon in the agreement. Fortunately **** now resides in an apartment in ********, *******. The services provided by Eco Shield cannot be provided by EcoShield at ****** ******** location and **** has no authority to contract for outside vendor services for property **** does not own. Contract law requires the services are both performed and are legal in order for an agreement to be valid and enforceable, EcoShield is prohibited by law to trespass upon the property of the apartment comple owner developer. The reviews of complaints filed with the BBB are correct and are reasonable.     Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention. I have reviewed the customers file and found that the charge outstanding on their account is a charge back for the discount provided at time of the initial service. Per the agreement that discount would be charged back if the customer terminated service prior to the end of the service agreement, in this case 12 months. I understand that the customer has moved out of state and is unable to retain service due to their current accommodations. As such, I will waive the $200 discount charge back and want to assure the Gaiks that their account is closed. We were only notified on 1/3/23 that the Gaiks had moved and were no longer in need of service. We apologize for any miscommunication that would have left them feeling as though we were attempting to take advantage of them.

    I responded yesterday.  The ******* BBB forwarded this complaint to you in error.  Please review the addresses shown in the attached.

    The service location was to be in ***********, ********.  The EcoShield address is in ******** also. 

    Ecoshield indicated in their answer sent to the BBB in ******* area a confirmation that they do not provide any service in *******. Since I moved to ******** . ******* and EcoSed does not nor will not provide any service in the ******* area,  they breach the agreement and are not entitled to further compensation as a result of their Breach. This complaint was filed with the correct BBB office.

    Ecoshied is a SCAM operation that no longer can perform the services they said they would. Just t get rid of the pest, Ecoshield, I would agree to send them a total of $ 100 to close both issues ($ 50 per location).  Otherwise I would rather give the money to an attorney in ********.  This is a very good offer for them.

    I signed a 3 month contract with Ecoshield Pest Control. They promised to remove spider eggs around the perimeter ***** of the property. I paid $120.00 to terminate the contract for failure to remove the spider eggs on successive visits. Now they are showing a contract for 24 months with a signature that is not my signature and they are telling me that I owe an additional $280.00 to terminate the contract. This is fraud. I did not sign a contract for 24 months.

We understand from the 12/8/23 call that you were having spider activity and our customer service agent offered a free follow up to take care of them. You let ** that you did not want our services anymore as another pest control company already took care of them.

    The $255 is the discount you were provided with for agreeing to complete the agreement. We've attached the agreement for the BBB's reference.

    As of today, the account is closed and there is no balance as everything has been paid for.
