As others have I received a continuing education booklet in mail. It was advertised as $24 dollars in at least 6 places on the book. It even says " best value save 216 dollars". After spending hours completing the courses I go online to pay and complete exam only to be faced with " our apologies! the book you received had a mistake on the listed price. The correct price of the book is $240" . So you're telling me your company is unable to proof read and let that slide six times? No, this is absolutely a bait and switch to get people invested. I will be letting every therapist I know what to actually expect from this business.Business Response

Good evening, I am writing to establish a formal complaint of false advertisement and predatory marketing against Elite Learning located at *************************************************************************. I have received mail correspondence from Elite Learning, as well as multiple other companies, advertising physical therapy continuing education programs. A co-worker advised that she has used Elite Learning to meet the 30-hour continuing education criteria for Virginia PTA licensure renewal in the past as it was an affordable and easy option. The mailed Elite Learning Virginia Physical Therapy Continuing Education Packet I received advertised "Best ************ $216 - All 30 Hours- $24.00." (See supporting documentation for details) I decided to complete the Elite Learning Packet and submitted the test answers at elitelearning.com/book using the code PTVA3022 per the instructions provided. I received a score of ****% on the 140-question exam. Upon completion of the exam, the website redirected me to "My Cart" where the price was listed as $240. I attempted to locate my certificate through the "Learning Hub" to verify that my submission had been accepted and viewed the following message, "Our apologies! The book you received had a mistake on the listed price. The correct price of the book is $240." I want Elite Learning to honor the price of $24 as advertised in the book. I have spent hours reading the course material provided and answering the exam questions. This is a predatory bait and switch. I did not receive any other correspondence advising of the pricing error until I had submitted my answers for the exam.I appreciate your time and assistance in resolving this matter. Thanks,********************* ********************** ************Business Response

I received reading material from elite learning advertising continuing education for $24.00.When I went online to do the test it said that there was a mistake and the cost is $240.00. I contacted elite learning and they offered me a 30%discount. They should honor the price advertised. I think this was done to entice taking the course. Thanks for your assistanceBusiness Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Elite learning advertised CE in the form of reading materials in print for $24.00. I spent 30 hours reading the material then went online to take the test. It was only then that I was informed that it would cost $240.00 NOT $24.00.
THIS IS WHERE I HAVE A PROBLEM.
What I did to avoid spending more than was advertised and still being able to get credit for my learning time was to take the test on paper and send it in with payment of $24.00. I have not yet been informed whether I can get credit for taking the course.Business Response

We have spoken with ************** and she has received credit for the course, there was a typo in her email address which prevented her from getting the certificate. This has been resolved now. I received a physical therapy CE book from Elite Learning which adverted on the front cover a cost of $40 for 30 CEU's. I completed all the testing using the printed book and then created an account to enter my answers online. Immediately I see a cost of $200 and this message:OUR APOLOGIES! THE **** YOU RECEIVED HAD A MISTAKE ON THE ***** LISTED. THE CORRECT ***** OF THE **** IS $200.As I had already spent 30+ hours completing this course from the printed book and did not wish to do so again with another more ethical company, I paid the fee. However, I consider this FALSE ADVERTISING and a SCAM! I also read a review here dated 10/7/22 reporting this same scam. This person received a CE book with the price of $24 on the cover but got the same message when he/she created an account and paid $240. Coincidence? I think not. This company should honor their printed price. Sending out a printed book stating a cost of $40 and knowing that many people would complete the course before ever creating an online account is DECEPTIVE! I chose to complete Elite Learning courses as the price seemed to good to be true. And, it WAS!! I could have completed 30 hours with another company who offers UNLIMITED CEU's for $99!!Business Response

This business, under the name "InforMed" keeps sending their continuing education products and advertisements to my mailbox. I have contacted them numerous times over the last ten years and asked them to stop and have my information removed from all contact lists, but the unsolicited junk mail keeps coming. Once, they made the excuse that because they purchase their mailing lists in bulk, I will keep appearing on it. The volume of mail has contributed to my mailbox overflowing and my legitimate mail not being delivered... causing me actual harm. This is harassment. I have never had any business relationship or other contact with them. Their excuses are not my problem. I could attach a picture, but I'm sure everyone knows what junk mail looks like. My desired resolution is for them to stop sending junk mail (now and in the future), remove me from all contact lists, and to never contact me again.Business Response

A little over a month ago I received a book/magazine from elitelearning.com for a 30-hour continuing education package. The cover of the book says the cost is $24. The second preface page of the book even has a price breakdown. It specifically states, "Best Value - save $216 - All 30 hours" with a price again of $24.00 for 30 hours. Then, on page 148, for submitting your work and paying, it says 30 hour course only $24.00. I have been working on this continuing education program for over a month in an attempt to complete it before I have family in for Thanksgiving. I am just a few questions from completing it. I recently found out from a coworker, that used the same program, went online to turn their work in and found out the price was actually $240. The company claims it was a misprint in the book. I find this hard to believe, seeing how the price was printed the same in more than one place in the book, had a price breakdown, and even stated "save $216". This is intentionally misleading to get you to use their program and then be forced to pay their price, "bait and catch"
I now have the choice of starting completely over with a different program or pay their "real" price.Business Response

On October 22, 2022 I purchased a nursing ceu package for $34.95. The video courses initially would not play and then did briefly but would 'glitch'. I cannot go back to review the video or any course content that has already played. Now none of the courses will play at all now. I have tried on a brand new Macbook, and 3 different computers at my work. I used Elite in the past with no problems. This year they also have something called ezflowplayer on the screen, this will not load either and is very cumbersome to use. I contacted elite and their "solution" was to close out the browser, sign out/sign in, clear cache/cookies, restart etc. None of these worked. My coworkers are using other companies for their online nursing ceus and are not having any problems at our work or home. Elite's program is the problem not the computers. I should not have to spend hours on the phone or computer trouble shooting, I am a nurse I need to get these done and move on. I want a full refund. Confirmation of my transaction can be confirmed by elite through my account. I don't know how to show that the videos will not play but neither can I review what has played.Business Response

Booklet sent out by company for continuing education for physical therapy. on the front of the book it rerads "Your 30 hour continuing education package $24.00"
"ELITELEARNING.COM/BOOK"
"Complete this book online with code: *********
After completing the workbook which took at least 30 hours if not more, I went online to do put my answers online for the credit. When entering the above book code I received a message that there was an error in printing and the cost was $240.00 not $24.00. I looked through this book when it first arrived thinking the price may have been low but there is not any pricing anywhere else in the book that states $240.00 versus the $24.00 so I thought they probably do bulk pricing. This is bait and switch which I believe may be illegal, if not it is very unethical.Business Response

I purchased the "WV 30 hr Advanced Nurse Practice Continuing Education Series" on 9/8/22 for $39. When I log in to get started on the courses it is telling me "No Content yet for this course". I attempted to contact the listed customer service contacts, all of which have been disabled (email ****************** and phone************* and website ****************************. When I purchased this product it was listed through "****************************************************** which I found on the WV RN Board website as a suggested CEU vendor. I have not been able to make contact with anyone to discuss how to access the purchased content. Purchase of 2 continuing education modules over the phone with representative using my credit card. I asked to be emailed receipt.
My total was $56.95
On 8/13/22 I still had not received my emailed receipt and I called to ask about this and to verify I had received 30% off with promo code that I had (Back2School).
The representative Adavis A**** G******* emailed me my receipt, but it did not reflect the 30% discount. He stated that I could not get a 30% refund or have 30% placed back on my credit card because I had already ordered and completed the modules.
I explained that I ordered via phone and a representative placed my order and the discount was not applied.
Adavis A**** G******* stated that I could not receive a 30% refund as this would be against company policy. I asked for him to explain the situation to a manager as I did not make an error in the system since I ordered over the phone. He apologized and stated there was nothing he could do.Business Response
