This is a really sad story we book a hotel because my grandma is sick in Illinois we were going to say our goodbyes. She passes on Sunday our reservation was for Monday we booked Delta Marriott paid $201.00 for 1 night. We get there and realize I had the wrong location this was in Meadowbrook we needed the one in Glenview which was closer to our family.

We wait on hold for almost 2 hours literally and ask can they switch our hotel to the one closer to our family?? they so NOPE we cant I said well could you make a acceptation we have had a death they said NOPE I said can we talk to a manager NOPE they cant change anything. The room was $130.00 per night they charged $201.00. We had to go rent another room closer to the family and they said we will give you a refund once you show a death certificate?? or a obituary??? you couldn't jut change the hotel for your customer I didnt want money I wanted a room but NOPE!! How do we allow CROOKS LIKE THIS TO STAY IN BUSINESS! WELL I WONT! I WILL BE DEALING WITH THEM!

On June 21 2023, I went online for the purpose of securing a hotel reservation at “REMOVED” Virginia Beach, VA . At that time I correctly entered the date of my request (June 25 2023) and also saw a price quote of $117 per night (plus taxes). Then without noticing, I was transferred into a website called “Reservations.com” (which did not appear on the REMOVEDMaps list of booking sites). I then entered my credit card number and completed the reservation request.
In transferring to “Reservations.com” the dates (and price) had changed (which I did not notice). My confirmation advice shows room rental dates of July 30 and August 1, 2023. The total cost for this is stated to be $480.18. My credit card was charged about $557 for this reservation.
When I saw the transaction notice, I immediately (within minutes) called “Reservations.com”, explained the situation and asked for a cancellation and refund. I was advised that this reservation was “not cancelable”. I was then offered the option to request a cancellation through management, but there would be a “cancellation charge” of $455. That amount (plus $24.40 in “fees”)still appears on my credit card account. I am waiting for a full refund from “Reservations.com”.
This site is a fraudulent ripoff.

Do not use. I thought I was speaking directly to the hotel. As soon as I booked. They charged my card and put their fee on it. The leader of my licensing school picked up the hotel bill. Reservation.com never sent the money to hotel. They kept the money. The hotel canceled my room so they did not double charge me. Reservation.com refuses to give refund and says case is closed. They signed me up for a room and charged me 178.00 plus their 20.00 fee. Please look at calling hotel and make sure you are talking to hotel before you book.

Mistakenly made a reservation at a hotel with these crooks. Realized my mistake and called them immediately. Although I called them 10 minutes before the "official" cancellation deadline, he kept talking to me until it was 3 minutes after the deadline. Then he said it is too late to cancel and I have to pay the $19.99 and the hotel fee, even if I cancel. With all these negative reviews, how in the world are they still in business? One reason is that it is difficult to know you are really on their website when you first make the reservation because their website looks exactly like the "official" in this case, Wyndham Hotels site. Everybody out there please be careful. Can't the BBB actually do anything about this or are they just a complaint basket? Really crooked scam artists.

      HORRIBLE SCAM ARTISTS.. FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES.
Called a hotel directly, wife somehow unknowingly directed to them. Made a reservation and the next day it showed on my CC these clowns. Called hotel and they had no reservation. Called these clowns back and with an overseas operator that you can't understand tried to cancel what they charged for but didn't do. Called CC and did a dispute. No problem. WRONG. These scammers wait 30 days and send my CC some info that we checked.boxes and agreed to NO cancelation and to top it off charge is 19.99 for there services. We Called hotel directly and booked to be safe. On arrival the hotel cannot find any reservation made in our behalf by these clowns. So they did nothing and charged us. They still keep sending my CC FAKE and FRAUDULENT documents that came from a phone call. Even going as far as saying we agreed to all terms.
BEWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES

I am not sure adding my complaint will really help, given there are thousands posted here and the company is still in business, but here goes. I decided to book a very nice vacation for my family at a resort. I went to what I thought was the resort website (all indications pointed that I was booking through the resort) and selected a room for $359/night x 4 nights. I received a confirmation email from reservations.com, which was very surprising, as I was expecting to get the confirmation from the hotel itself. Nowhere on the email did it list the charge per night or noted that I agreed to charges in excess of the $359/night. My mistake in all of this is that I didn't actually do any calculations, just assumed that $2200 credit card charge was accurate with resort charges, etc. Fast forward to the vacation: When I checked out, the resort had a forward balance of $1700. I was very confused because I was expecting the forward balance of $2200 that was posted to my card when I booked. Upon asking the hotel, they told me that the room was $359/night, and that since I booked through reservations.com, the extra $500 were fees reservations.com added on and they couldn't do anything about it. I have made several attempts to get a refund from reservations.com, but have been told from customer service agents who barely speak English, along with emails from their customer support, that I agreed to pay the $500 charges, but I cannot find proof nor will they provide me with any. I believe that they hope you won't notice how much money you gave them to book when you go to a resort since there are so many charges/fees that go to the folio. Sorting through a long list of charges is exhausting, but I did it and noted the discrepancy. And I lost $500. So, the lesson - if you think you booked through a hotel website and you actually booked through reservations.com (because they use technology to mimic hotel websites) get a lawyer now. How can we shut this company down???

I’m amazed that this company is still getting away with their unethical sales practices. Why do hotels and banks do business with this company? My only advice for those of us that have been scammed by this company - is for you to write a formal complaint to your bank. It took me 3+ frustrating months (2 lengthy letters) to be made whole because the deceiving tactics of this company. They will send your bank fraudulent docs and then won’t respond afterwards if you are able to point out the discrepancies.

Reservations.com makes no notable attempt to clarify that they are not associated with the Hotel reservations team.

On performing a test call at no point did the Agent identify they were with Reservations.com until specifically asked.

Guests complain about unexpected fees, being quoted significantly lower rates only to have service fees applied upon completing their booking.

If I could give a negative number I would. I've been trying to get a refund for quite some time and finally in the process but had to resort to potential litigation. Also found out that this company is affiliated with REMOVED.com. I don't think I would do business with this company either after all the lies that I've been told from reservations.com
