On October 4, 2024 I went to their website in an attempt to file my BOIR report* I entered mos of my info, including credit card info* I realized that the website was not forthcoming with their charges AND I noticed their disclaimer stating that I could file my report for free directly with the US Gov * website* At that point, I stopped the process to compete the application for their help* On October 31, 2024 the company charged me for their service, although they acknowledge that the application is incomplete and they have not filed my BOIR report* I requested a refund for the service that they did not provide* They refuse refunds*Their number: ************ in **********Business Response

I am rejecting this response because I have NOT received a refund from this merchant. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company, but have only received a temporary adjustment from the credit card company pending resolution of their investigation. Until the merchant issues a refund and obviates further need to pursue the dispute at the level of the credit card company, I do not consider this matter to be resolved.
Sincerely,
***** ********Business Response

Last Wednesday 12/11/2024 we asked a computer-literate friend to help file BOIR Fincen reports for my husband and me. She seems to have misidentified ******* as as a legitimate government Internet website. What should have been a cost-free uncomplicated and simple submission has unnecessarily involved an unknown third party whom we cannot trace. However, ******* have successfully extracted $349 from our credit card account. It seems that no service has been provided by BOIR.org ********, who appear to be operating a phishing scam.Business Response

I was charged $349 for filing a Beneficial Ownership Information Report (BOIR) through BOIR.org. This charge occurred even though the federal form had already been filed directly with the *************** of the ******************* Crimes Enforcement Network (******). BOIR.org provides no clear or conspicuous notice that they are not affiliated with ******, leading to my confusion and financial loss.Misrepresentation: BOIR.orgs website and communications create the impression of being an official government entity. The site uses a design similar to government websites, including unauthorized use of a FinCEN-like logo. There is no clear, prominent disclaimer that BOIR.org is a private entity. Small print at the bottom of their website is insufficient to meet legal standards for clear and conspicuous notice.Failure to ***************** My submission to BOIR.org was rejected because the form had already been filed directly with ******, a fact I explicitly inquired about before proceeding. BOIR.orgs representatives misled me by stating my form was incomplete rather than verifying the status. They processed the payment and refused to issue a refund despite the lack of fulfillment and fraudulent practices. Upon identifying their fraudulent operations, I contacted BOIR.org to request a refund. My request was denied, citing a no-refund policy not disclosed before payment. Their customer service has been uncooperative and dismissive, compounding the issue.Resolution Sought: A full refund of $349. Immediate cessation of BOIR.orgs misrepresentation practices, including unauthorized use of the FinCEN logo and clearer disclaimers on their website. Reporting this organization to relevant authorities for investigation into fraudulent activities.I am attaching email correspondence that demonstrates BOIR.orgs misleading communications, refusal to refund, and evidence of their misrepresentation as a federal agency.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: the business HAS NOT issued a refund to me, nor has attempted to reach me. They sent me an email expressing that they would provide a refund however the link for me to request the refund did not work and was broken. My further attempts to reach them directly about the matter were without reply. The business remains a fraudulent operator.

The BOIR.Org website looks too much like the government website. It is not until you provide all your personal information and pay that you find out you did not file the FINCEN form. The BOIR.ORG site has an urgent warning about having to file the Beneficial Ownership form within 26 days to avoid a $591 a day penalty. I completed all the information and paid the fee, only to find out that the form is actually NOT REQUIRED now due to ongoing litigation. This is extremely deceptive on the part of BOIR.org. I want my money back and I want them to delete all my personal information. I called the contact number around 8:30 am EST and left a message. I also sent an email requesting a refund.Initial Complaint

Used the ************************** site to check one vehicle VIN number report. Paid $1.00. Automatically sets you up for a re-occuring subscription of $29.95. There is no confirmation email and you will not know you are being charged until you check your bank account history. Called the business to cancel and provide refund and the business would only agree to cancel one payment. Then hung up on me. Had to file dispute claim with ****** to block re-occuring payment and request refund for other payment not refunded.Initial Complaint

This scam targets the governments newly required BOIR report for small businesses. They have gone to great lengths to resemble an official government page and prey upon small businesses, by opportunistically exploiting the government's lack of communication regarding this required report.Initial Complaint

Boir.org Posing as a government website to confuse citizens to post their sensitive business information. The form they use is very similar to the one on the actual government page. They charge about ****** for their service which misleads us into thinking we actually filed a required government form. This website seems like a scam.Initial Complaint

I am a small business owner. I was recently informed of the new FinCEN Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting (BOIR) requirement. On November 27, 2024, I foolishly provided my bank account ********************** and driver's license to ********, which proceeded to charge me $349 to file a simple BOIR form that I could have filed for free on the FinCEN.*gov* website. The ******** website does state that "This platform is not affiliated with the US Government or the ************************************ (******)," but of course I missed the fine print and got scammed. I understand that it may not be illegal to trick someone out of their money, but the website is certainly misleading and they are clearly scamming individuals like myself who are trying to do too many things at once and are easy targets. Within seconds of submitting my information (and losing $349), I contacted my bank to try to stop the transaction, but they said that because I provided my account number and the routing number, there was nothing they could do.
