The website BOIR.org is a scam website. They claim to help business owners file the **** report to FInCen for $149.00 fee and that they are an "officially authorized service provider with the US Government or the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (******)". However they are not actually authorized by any government body nor do they provide any actual service. The actual reporting that is required by ****** does not require any payment of fees through the actual ****** website and because **** did not provide any such reporting services I still had to file the report through FinCEN. I would like a refund of the $149.00 fee that I was charged by the site.Business Response

I am writing to report a situation where I have been scammed by a company providing auto background checks (VIN checks). I initially purchased a report for only 1 USD, but a week later, I noticed that my account was charged nearly 28 USD without my consent. Despite my efforts to contact the company for clarification and a refund, I have not received any response.Upon further investigation, I discovered that this company has a history of scamming consumers, with multiple complaints on platforms like Reddit where others have reported similar issues. On 11/5 I tried to submit my beneficial Ownership information with ****** and used this website that claimed to be an official service to submit the information and it charged me 150$ fee and I filed for 2 of my companies. While browsing for used cars in July, my husband and I decided to take advantage of a one-week trial offer from **************************, a service owned by Global Informatics, in order to research the history of a potential purchase. We paid a nominal fee of $1 using our ****** account to access the **********************. However, upon attempting to cancel the subscription by contacting the company through the provided phone number on their website, I was met with difficulty in reaching a representative and was forced to leave a message that was never returned.Subsequently, we discovered that ************************** had been charging our ****** account $29.95 every month without our consent. After reporting the issue to ******, they took action to block any further payments to the company. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that we will be able to recover the funds deducted from our account over the past four months. My primary concern now is the potential damage to my otherwise excellent FICO score due to the actions of this company.Moving forward, I am seeking a resolution to this matter that will prevent any further unauthorized charges and ensure the protection of my financial well-being. CarInfoStory says its a $1 dollar charge for the 1st week then ***** after, I tried canceling via the website doesn't work. I switched to a card that has no money on it and today they tried charging me *****. I look it up on ******, its a common scam and people cannot stop them from charging their debit cards because its a "subscription". When one person tried calling the phone number the customer service person told them to "Pull up and fight" You can try and email them and they still charge you as well is what others are saying. I want them investigated and to be sure others are not scammed. I just googled it and a reddit thread popped up, multiple exist so I know it is happening to others and it should not be.Business Response

I used this online service to get info about a vehicle using a VIN. I am rejecting this response because:
They tried and I provided evidence of the attempt. They have since apparently cancelled the transaction but only because I initially removed all money and links to bank account so that there were not sufficient funds available. Then I raised this issue with you, the BBB. Had I not taken any of these actions they would have proceeded to charge me. Thus business is untrustworthy and engages in predatory practices and thus should be noted in order to protect other consumers. I do not know what outcomes are available to address this. If there is nothing else that can be done, then this can be closed.
